Your right, people go for it. In my early 20s I was raising a child and working. Then when I was early 30s I started over and was raising 3 more kids. Tried to start a small farm until my husband walk out on us. Through all those years I held back in having fun like I did when I was a teen. I'm 67 yrs.old, disabled, and find it very difficult to walk . I would love to travel some, my kids want to go places with me, but I can't do it. It so unfair to them and me So people Zach knows what he talking about.Enjoy the time you have, while you have your health. God bless ya all.

Wishing I could go experience life but with my back, I can't anymore and I hate it! I remember going with the kids and grandkids and having fun and now I'm 71 and it's over. Nothing the doctors can do. It's the nerves and there's nothing that can be done with them. I go to the Chiropractor on e a week so I can hopefully get out of bed and try to walk around the house. They're getting ready to build me a lift so I can get out of the house easier and I thank God for that. I don't have a car anymore so I'm stuck at home unless someone comes to take me out and I'm so thankful when they do. I have a lady who comes to pick me up for Church every Sunday and I'm so thankful. They closed Church last Sunday because there were so many out for sickness, I don't know about this Sunday but we'll see. I love y'all and I hope you keep rolling on! Don't sit on the couch and get old! Get out and have fun with your family!!!❤️❤️🤣😂🎊🎉

I totally agree! Two summers ago, my anxiety was so high, and I had a really bad anxiety attack on a small Ferris wheel. I vowed then that something had to change. Last summer we went to an amusement park, and I just felt sick. I was so nervous about riding the rollercoasters. Heck I was terrified about the Ferris wheel. Standing in line at the first rollercoaster I was thinking, I'm going to die on this rollercoaster, like they are going to have to shut down this ride to remove my lifeless body! I could feel the fear pounding in my chest, and up into my throat when I climbed onto that rollercoaster, but after that initial drop the fear just disappeared. It was actually thrilling! I had my hands above my head before I even realized that I had let go of the hand grips. It feels really good to let go of the fear.

So true! Thankfully, in my life, I have never really looked at what others had and wishes for those things. Honestly, I’ve always had a very negative body image, so maybe I did look at others and get a little jealous in that respect. Experiences in life and learning about other cultures and places in our world, is much more satisfying and memorable than things. Thank you for reminding us! Have a blessed new year!❤

Zach I was petrified of roller coasters because of a childhood drama and one day a friend needed someone to ride with him and I was it. I rode every ride in the park and sometimes twice! Then I decided to take it a step further and go sky driving! The Free Fall was the catalyst for me to overcome my fears! It was THE most awesome experience ever had! Since those times I have had no fear! Great video!

I disagree. I know this wasn't probably intended to be a broad brush stroke but we really dont find enjoyment in travelling or vacations. There really are groups of people that dont get bored doing similar stuff every day. Some stuff is the same but no 2 days are ever exactly the same on a farm. Farms throw a lot of excitement and curveballs, endless projects. We enjoy projects and the wonderment of what we are blessed with here. I never liked rolloer coasters and never will. The closet street kid with a need for adrenaline is hearing what youre saying and im sure its good for them to go outside of their comfort zone to find themselves again. Its just not for everyone. A lot of us that say no to the roller-coaster or mexico vacations truly dont want or need those things for fulfillment and joy.

Yes completely agree! Im one of those people who don’t feel like I need that to fill my cup. Honestly, the total opposite. I strive to create a life at home that is my happy place, gives me peace and excitement all together. Also, looking at it from a health perspective- adrenaline can have negative impacts on the body especially for people who already suffer from mental health issues like anxiety, ptsd etc… so while I understand the message of “live life to the fullest,” That doesn’t mean everyone needs the roller coaster rides and vacations every year. A better message is striving to find what’s going to fill up your own self care tank so you don’t ever feel bad or bored with your life.

Well said & Sooo true Zach. When my siblings & I were 7,8 & 10 our parents had a visit with us about these things. We were given the option of a trip for Christmas or presents. We chose a trip. Smartest thing ever. We went on some wonderful trips all through our growing up. We did that with our kids and now with the grandkids. We did get & give one gift to open but I couldn't tell you about any of them. What we all talk about are the wonderful memories we've made.

Yes!! When my kids were growing up, i tried to make sure we did fun stuff, trips to the beach and the Outer Banks of NC, water park, amusement park, etc. I hope they had fun, i know i did! We lived near Richmond, VA, so did things there. For folks who can't or don't want to spend money on experiences, check around! There's plenty to do for free or minimal cost. The memories are the important things!

😂🤣 I don’t have a side by side but I DID “topple” in my power chair (wheelchair) while I was out on our small homestead!! (On a slight hill and the dirt was loose). I was fine. Surprisingly I was able to get up and flip the chair back upright. My family didn’t know but I was laughing about it so my son checked the video (safety y’all!). All they could see onscreen was my head falling … the chair and my body was off camera. I got lectured to be more careful - but I did give everyone the gift of laughter 😂😂😂 DO IT NOW!!! DON’T WAIT (for WHAT?!). GREAT VIDEO ZACH! ❤Stiver Fam!

I promise to do more this year. Funny thing is I just bought your shirt from your store that says: Do Something. As soon as it came in the mail I opened that package and put it on and went to my favorite restaurant. Very first bite of food I dropped the knife and it slopped all down the front of my shirt. lol Next weekend we’re heading south from Ohio and making a stop at Jeni’s Farmstand to hopefully score some of that yummy looking bread y’all set out on the honor system. We’re heading to Williamsburg/Pine Knot for a few days and then on to the Smokies for a trip to Cades Cove and some off-road trails. Planning my garden, my pantry upgrades and lots of fun for this year. Take care y’all. Thanks for sharing.

Everybody has to make a living but I really wish some of my favorite homestead channels would go back their original intentions with their channels instead of the constant fear. We took a trip in December to Savanah and loved it. So much of the things to do we’re free. You are very wise. Every family has their interest. And know what the children's interests are. Run with it. You and Jan, are doing great with your kids. You are right, so right.

I appreciate this talk this morning. I need to get out of my comfort zone and start living again. Got too complacent after the big C hit and I have yet to leave my safe cocoon and venture back out to experience life. Appreciate you Zack!

It is true - we must let our inner kid play and have fun no matter how old we are, in order to feel more alive.

I’m in Kentucky and we go camping ocean front at Lakewood camping resort at Myrtle Beach. Super fun for the kiddos and ocean front. Best time to go is late June and any time in July. Lots of fun stuff to do for families for free right at the campground. We go 2-3 times a year in summer and also in October since they do a lot of fun stuff for kids for Halloween. Kings island is also a good place to go and you can camp at camp cedar while there.. that’s more of a weekend getaway camping trip.
