From ME, an older lady (40) I just want to say life is one strange journey of twists and turns and you are constantly learning and adapting and changing. This is called life, there is a lot to learn. Even at my age!! Stay true to your values, you won’t go far wrong! Your channel is very wholesome and I don’t think you shouldn’t be so hard on yourself! I’m glad you got a second opinion on the lump and can understand how frightening that must have been for you. Lots of love 💕

What a fantastic video Kay, as an older viewer, I’m 56, married 30 years and home maker for 25 of them, it’s really lovely to watch a younger person starting out, learning, changing and growing and love your enthusiasm and realness, particularly when it comes to things like the joy of cat hair, mould in your wardrobe or a big pile of clutter in the corner! Nothing puts me off influencers more than unrealistic ‘perfection’ and those types have a far more negative impact than you ever will so please don’t ever apologise for anything you say or do either in the past or moving forward. I could write you a whole essay of my life experiences but will spare you all that! But just to say I’m thrilled to see you taking steps towards a more natural lifestyle, just take it slow and don’t stress though, progress not perfection is the key. As a U.K. viewer who’s been on the road to ‘recovery’ from potentially toxic products for several years now my personal recommendations would be - Bio d for laundry and cleaning products, U.K. made, natural, eco and vegan friendly and work brilliantly, easily available online through a variety of outlets. But I also make my own cleaners, try 50/50 mix of Bio d washing up liquid and white vinegar, add some essential oil if you like, work’s amazing in the bathroom! Faith in Nature for soaps, shower gels, shampoos and conditioners etc, again made in U.K. and meet the criteria you’re looking for. Also check out a company called Naturally Thinking, based in Surrey, amazing for essential oils skincare etc and also if you want to try your hand at DIY skincare. Make up and skincare I personally love Lavera, I think it’s German but they have a U.K. based website plus it’s available from lots of other online retailers, great products and reasonably priced too! Also Lily Lolo mineral make up is great. For my cookware I originally went for Greenpan but now using the “Neverstick” range from Scoville, I find it brilliant, and none of the toxins found in Teflon coated products. Very reasonably priced and available from Argos, Asda etc etc. One KZreadr you should check out is Skandish Home, I think you’ll love her. I really hope this helps you or anyone else looking for ideas, and of course there’ll be loads of other brilliant suggestions that’ll help everyone in your community including me, we’re never too old to change. Look after yourself, take it slow, stay real and just as you are, you’re an absolute gem X 💕

From an even older lady at 68, I have been watching you for about three years, i too am Vegan, and was brought up with old fashioned ways, as they say. Change happens often in our lives, and we have to reassess our lives at times, i can understand with your health and fright. You are doing the right thing, but doing it as if on a journey, bit by bit. Thank you for being honest with everyone, i honestly have to say, i had tears in my eyes, it probably wasn’t easy. I look forward to your journey, and many congratulations on your wedding x

As a breast cancer survivor, I understand your thoughts of wanting to replace anything toxic in your household. I'm so happy to hear that you're not dealing with cancer! So, for skin care, Burt's Bees and Avalon Organics are my favorite products. I especially love Avalon Organics Vitamin C Serum - it's like opening up an orange and applying the scent to your face! For both skincare and makeup, Arbonne products are all B Corp certified and cruelty free. Their products are a bit pricy, but I don't worry about what they're doing to my body when I use them (note: I am not an Arbonne Consultant). For cleaners and laundry detergent and softener, I use all Method products. Anything they make that's scented is all natural. I love their almond wood cleaner for dusting. For cookware, I use Greenpan. They are ceramic non-stick, with no plastic coating, hence no PFAS, BPA, etc. For food storage, I use glass containers. Try to avoid heating anything plastic in the microwave. If I'm reheating leftovers in the microwave, I don't cover anything with plastic wrap - I use paper towels instead. You can also find all natural, organic paper towels that aren't treated with bleach in order to make them stark white. It all depends on how far you want to go with avoiding anything artificial or harmful. Looking forward to your healthier endeavors and seeing what you find and what other subscribers recommend. We can all learn from each other!

I heard a great quote once (can’t remember where from): ‘Hold your identity loosely’, which I interpret to mean: don’t pigeonhole yourself or put yourself into a box; you are allowed to change, grow, develop and do things and try things that don’t necessarily fit into the perfect version of yourself that you think you should be. Also it’s ok to try new things or like or do things that don’t match with who you think you should be. xxx

The world needs more people having these kinds of conversations - people talking about how they've grown and learned! I don't think you have anything to apologise for though, as others have said - we're all on a journey! I'm so excited for your future low-tox content! We're predominantly low-tox and it's something we've worked on over the course of 3 years to get to where we are, it all takes time. Something I didn't expect when we started the journey was how much the low-tox aspect would also end up referring to things like mindset and mental health. I'm excited for you on this new journey! I have no doubt it's going to be beautiful 😊

Awwwww Kay you are the most beautiful soul 😘. Please dont ever feel that you have to justify yourself or be accountable to anybody other than yourself. This journey called life is the most confusing thing we'll ever encounter & as you get older you'll realise that things & possessions just dont matter & having a good old clear out really does clear your mind & make you realise what really is important. In 2019 I got a call to say my dad had a fall & was in hosp....without hesitation I went home telling my family & stay for a week, now when I arrived he seemed fine & was wondering why id made the long journey home, however I was told by his parkinson consultant that he was end of life! I was shocked to the core but my proud dad had struggled & coped with this horrible disease for over 20 years without complaining (different generation). Anyway he decided he wasnt quite ready to go & hung on for 4months!....bed ridden....it was the most awful time, but it made me realise what was important. I had only packed enough clothes for a week, but so what I just rotated them, I didnt need anything I just wanted to spend every minute with my gorgeous dad which I did until he passed. I came back to my family 3 days before xmas & was immediately overwhelmed with what needed to be done in lead up to xmas, but you know what I didnt care that my house needed a good clean as hubby didnt quite do it how I do, & cupboards needed filling as he'd eaten pretty much everything from it. It made me realise the most important thing was to do what was important to me & that was spending the last 4mths of my dads life together. The latest fashions or new festive scents for my house, or my house being decorated a certain way did not matter. I was back with my family that id missed soooo much! What im trying to say Kay is do you! Evaluate whats important for you & Dom & dont ever think you are less of a person by not following the latest trends!!!! It really doesnt matter at end of day. You follow your path to find your happiness. Luv your vlogs. Take care 😍 xx

I agree. Keeping up with the newest fashions and environmentally damaging trends loses its appeal as we get older. We start thinking about the world we leave after us. I first realized this when my mother was in her last months fighting through brain cancer. I spent much of that time in the hospital with her.

So glad you’re okay, Kay, and please be gentle with yourself! You’re a great influence on viewers because of your genuine warmth, your kindness, your mindset, your intentionality, your willingness to keep growing and learning, and you have been so as every version of yourself you’ve shared with KZread. Who you are as a person is more important than the products you have used along the way. You haven’t let anyone down by using chemical cleaners or anything like that, and you don’t have to feel guilty about the possibility of our following suit - we all make our own decisions. But we’re also here for and excited to support your shift back to more naturally-derived products, too! No shame. Much love. And again, so glad that you’re okay!

Hi Kay. You are a beautiful young lady with a kind heart. Don't let anybody tell you otherwise. What you have mentioned in this video, it so much resonates with me. I too have been struggling these past 3 years and I think too much and get overwhelmed with life. I am in my early sixties, and take care of my terminally ill husband and my aging mom. I made no time for myself and my health started to go down. Somehow, I have decided that I don't want to feel locked in my box and started making small changes. I started with "clean" home made toothpaste, make my own cleaning products and have found a washing powder that is eco friendly. Small changes. My diet has changed as well, eating only clean foods. I also make time to do fun things, like my gardening.

This was so relatable! Thank you for sharing 🥰 I started a similar journey several years ago for ethical and health reasons. I've been vegetarian (and probably about 80% vegan) for years. We also live in an extremely toxic world, which has been normalized by society. I'm so glad more ethical, sustainable, eco-friendly brands have been created in recent years. Candles, cleaning products, and anything I use on my body were the first swaps I made. My skin is extremely sensitive, so that helped push me in a more natural direction early on. I also have chronic inflammatory diseases that were caused and still triggered by inflammatory foods/drinks. I'm so happy you are making positive changes for yourself and the environment and support you 100% on your journey! ❤️

It is wonderful for you to change things but you will notice how awesome you will start to feel once our Father God takes over. Let Him be the center of your world. 1000% agree with Fran Ricardo. Unfortunately, when you are in the public eye, with the good followers, comes the critical who on the otherside of their keyboard/cellphone being mean and ruthless. When I come across mean comments on anyone's KZread, I don't reflect on the person providing their video, I deem the commentators rude, and they are unhappy with themselves or their life so have to unleash on others. You continue to be you Kay, your lovely in & out. I understand why you chose to apologize as an influencer, you may have felt led astray from others influencing you, not really being true to your own self and ways, physically or mentally. Really nice of you to share your very personal self..you continue you and try not to take to heart mean, unkind words of others. Those meanies are miserable with themselves not you.

Thank you, Kay, for this honest video ♥ As someone who felt quite the same last November (a very suspicious mole had to be removed and the doctor scheduled a very urgent appintment for the surgery...all good in the end) I totally get the feeling you have now! I, too, changed a lot over the last 12 months to keep my husband and me as healthy as I can and to be more responsible with nature, life and everything. We buy organic mostly, eat waaaay less meat, I bake my own bread, we have a balcony garden now, I do my own room scents, use bees wax candles, use naturals soaps only, cook fresh most of the time, use organic, natural skin care products and cleaners...and much more! And still, everyday I learn more, and this journey is exciting. I see it as an adventure, with quests I can do and bonus I can get ;) So I think this journey will be joyful for you, too, at least I hope so ♥ As I live in Germany I don´t think I can give you many tipps what to buy where sadly, but I think you´ll find a lot of good options in the UK as well. We go there on holiday 2x a year and I´m always excited to find products there ;) I really hope you never have to feel this scary feeling again and wish you all the best! Doro

Dear sweet Kay, apologies are not needed. I found your channel about 6 months or so ago. Your channel has always intrigued me and brought me so much joy. What you have spoken about here today is what I have thought about myself. I applaud you for taking the time and speaking out on what is on your mind. I look forward to watching more of your journey. I wish you the very best, and sending positive thoughts and prayers for you. I am in the USA, and hope to find some healthy choices here as well.

I’ve loved your videos for a while now and all I would say is don’t be so hard on yourself, you’re an amazing person and life is a journey for us all. I recently had a similar scare (everything’s fine) so I completely relate to how it shakes you. I’ve promised myself to be in the moment more and embrace the joy in life as another serial over thinker xxx

Well done Kay for sharing your thoughts. So sorry you have had to carry such burdens, especially the lump, but you are right in that all these things inform us and help us to decide how we want to live. All that you have experienced, I have too and can totally relate to your story. It takes guts to be different to what is considered the norm. I no longer follow lots social media accounts as I realised many were influencing people to spend money on items that were not necessary, that would give you a better life if you bought it. I live a very slow and simple life and have never been happier! Looking forward to joining you on your new journey of discovery. Sending you much love xxx

I’m sorry you had a health scare, things like that really can shake you. You put this all really articulately, and I’m glad you’re planning to do this slowly and with compassion for yourself. As someone who eats mainly plant-based and is concerned with sustainability etc it’s really overwhelming trying to make decisions as a consumer, and a lot of it comes down to brands who should be doing more. So definitely just try your best without boxing yourself in! ❤

Dear Kay - No need to apologize AT ALL! No judgment, no shaming, and no blaming here. In fact, I want to tell you how much I appreciate you and this video, and your channel. This was a good, healthy video and a reminder to me as well. I just turned 59 in October. I am in America. I work full-time as a teacher specialist for the State of California as a special education assessment specialist. I also have my two 88-year-old parents who live in my house with me. I am their main caretaker. In addition, I live with major clinical depression and anxiety. I tell you this because I, too, haven't been caring for myself because I'm so busy taking care of everyone else. I haven't had a mamogram in 5 years, etc. I have so many things that my main doctor has prescribed that I'm not doing. I do see my psychiatrist religiously, however. You encourage me to begin to shop less and do more self-care and follow my doctor's advice. While this was a wake-up call for you, your video was a wake-up call for me and I am beyond grateful. It is time I put myself first so that I will be in better health when I'm 88 than my parents are. I don't want to be a frail old person and be dependent because, although I have three grown and married daughters, I don't want them to have to do what I'm doing. Sorry, this comment is so long, but I did want to thank you, and I wanted to explain why. I can't wait to follow you on this new journey!!! With love, Lisa from America.

Thank you for such a heartfelt share! Recently, I lost my mother and after recieving a large inheritance, I felt a huge responsibility to take an inward look at how I had spent money in the past...I knew my mother would have wanted me to wisely and carefully spend what she and my father worked so hard at to save and pass on to me. In reflecting my own personal spending, I realized how much money I have wasted in the past six years or so, buying what other people were suggesting on their channels; as you said...clothes, makeup, gadgets, energy drinks, food companies, etc. This realization put me onto a huge path of change. We can slowly lose ourselves by the lures of social media. And although that can be scary, it also opens us up to new change and a better way. Kay, I support you all the way on your new path, you are a gem of a person...and your channel is on my list of the few channels I am remaining to watch. I am with you as you go forward! As the saying goes, " wherever you go, there you are!"

You'll find the right balance that is right for you. Always appreciate your honest talks with us. I've been on a similar path with chronic health issues and living a vegan & eco friendly life then the opposite and it's so easy to just indulge or not think about the impact we are having and I'm also trying to find what's important to me and living in a way that I am happy about. I definitely relate to the journey but I think it's admirable to experiment and learn from it. Take care xx

Hi Kay, Thank you so much for such an honest video. It’s so good that you are brave enough to be open and vulnerable. It is inspiring to anyone who is looking to grow & develop. You don’t have to apologise for any detours you have made on the journey. We all do the best we can in the circumstances in which we find ourselves. If you go off the path, you learn so much about yourself and it helps us to grow, to be humble and to recognise that none of us are perfect. You are a lovely, warm, honest and beautiful person. ❤ For candles, I can highly recommend Echo candles! Lovely soy wax handmade in Somerset in recyclable glass jars. Wonderful fragrances in candles and reed diffusers. 😊

I was vegan for 3 yrs and what I found out over a yr ago was due to medical issues veganism was like lighting a match on a puddle of gasoline. My blood work was like that of a person with lupus, I started having mental health issues etc. Now over a yr eating a clean balanced diet all that has leveled out. I was highly influenced by vegan KZread and not everything is for everyone. We have to do what works for ourselves regardless if it works for others. Being influenced is such a 2022 issue...I'm 40 and I miss the days before social media when we were just who we were without the constant barrage of influence. ❤️ I needed to hear this today bc I have been really allowing myself to be influenced recently as something to hold onto instead of looking inward. Thanks for talking about this!

When my mother was diagnosed with breast cancer stage 3, it really shook me as well. I wont forget her getting her results on Christmas day 2019. Kay, happy that you are doing fine! Don’t worry too much about the changes since these are an integral part of life. What is important in my opinion is to reflect on the new things we learn, on past behavior and new ideas, to admit when one was wrong or took a path that didn’t suit oneself etc. This makes us grow as humans instead of holding on to stiff ideas how one should be or behave. We need to be much kinder to ourselves and to others. 🌸

I am starting to go back to home products from Norwex. Most of them you can just clean with water! Also, for candles, try the self care co. All natural, hand made from a small business. I’ve also started a small veg patch, because I think even growing some food for myself would mean less pesticides and plastic packaging. I’m a working mum of 3 children so I don’t have lots of time to dedicate to doing everything from scratch. But like you say, we can only do our best! 💚

Don’t beat yourself up for being human. Evolving into the person we want to be takes time and we’re always changing. I’m so excited for you and your family that you are on this new journey. I myself am passionate about using simple, natural and toxic free products. My lungs, skin and senses can no longer handle the harshness of chemicals products. I feel like you will really enjoy this new path ahead. I’m so exited to follow you on this journey. You really are an amazing, sweet person and I support you 100%! Look forward to your future videos. I'm so excited for these changes! A few recommendations off the top of my head: *Zero waste bulk foods - for packaging-free larder essentials *ocean saver - it's a capsule you just dissolve in water to make a cleaning spray *Milk and more - do some great eco friendly options like Fill and you can return the packaging back to the delivery person Also I'll add that you soon get used to fragrance-free living. We wash clothes with Ecover zero and started off by replacing our fabric conditioner with white vinegar and essential oils, before ditching that entirely. Now I can't stand fragranced laundry or Method sprays! Wishing you and the family the best of luck on this journey.

This video really struck a chord with me. During lockdown I really relied on shopping more (not excessively, but more than I needed!) I've found that even when I buy products that aren't sold as 'sustainable', I take care of them or buy/use them less. This has made me mindful and live at a slower pace! The TikTok app always made me 'want more things' so I deleted it :) Thank you for your honesty, we all love you so much and I admire your ability to self reflect so efficiently! You're incredible and I look forward to watching the adventures you go on in your next chapter 🌱♥
