Your statement “there is a difference between the support you are entitled versus the support you have to pay for” is a word! As a single mom in a city with no family and an absent father is rough! Having the privilege to pay for support is a blessing for sure! But not having that built in support really takes a toll at times. Thanks so much for the transparency and just being relatable! You have no idea how just knowing I’m not alone in my feelings helps me! You are a phenomenal mom and although I know first hand it’s not easy you handle it so well! ❤

As a parent with a child in kindergarten with an IEP i say go through with it and always stay on top of it. My child is having her struggles and it helps having that IEP in place

Also I know you don't like people giving you advice but keep the IEP for Jax. Extra help is always great as they give the kids 1:1 attention. It's better than being a average Joe in a class. Not you practicing what to say at Ikea. This entire vlog is too damn much ! 😂😂😂 I can't stop laughing

Hey hey! I had an IEP throughout school (I’m dyslexic asf) lol. The IEP is for people who learn differently not necessarily people that “can’t” learn or “aren’t smart”. When I was taught in the way I learned I was the top of my class. Idk if Jax learns differently, maybe see if it’s beneficial first.

The draft of the IEP for his reading goals said “he will be able to identify his name out of 2 names by December… then 8 names by may” he can literally spell and write his name like 🤦🏾‍♀️ the bar was in hell babe.

Yes that's what happened to my son he wouldn't talk to people outside our home till he was like 4 but understood everything around him he is so smart and instead of constantly trying to explain this to people I just let him do him. He is 9 now and testes above the national average in all subjects. So, yea, IEP does work for those who might need it and hinders those who most people just don't understand

I have two little girls on IEPs. This began when both were in Pre-school. I have a 10 year old and 6 year old. It has helped them a ton. My 10 year old has mastered out her academic goals. My youngest is reading on a 2nd grade level. They have autism but that does not mean your son has it as well. It just give students extra support in certain areas. I would say keep it until he’s mastered out of the goals. You are doing a great job advocating for him.

I work in Ed Law. Please follow-through with the IEP process just in case! It's not a reflection of his ability to learn or perform in school or anything like that. Think of it as a memorandum of understanding between you, the school and all the staff that outlines the protocols to follow if (not when) problems arise. You want that paper trail!

As a mom with a Sun who has an IEP I am his biggest advocate he’s had his since we lived in NYC and he was in Kindergarten he is now a sophomore in HS I don’t play about him or any of my other children. Keep doing an amazing job showing up for Ajax and being his #1 Advocate you’re doing an amazing job mom❤ 🫶🏽💐

As a cosmetologist I agree with the unwanted advice. People in general just understand that different folks, different strokes everybody does hair differently.

@@tiffanyreign Hi My son has ADHD an identified disability, his IEP an individual education plan, was set into place to allow extra help and services where needed. They also pulled him out to work with special teachers during school hours. I advocated for him which set him up for success, our kids are different but look no different than others, but asome skills he was delayed in and needed extra time on test and things due to test anxiety. Each child is different. When the work got harder he didn’t focus well and started acting out or all together shut down. I thought it was a good thing, meetings and updates are required quarterly/ school year. Hope this helps and I pray your baby has a great year! 🫶🏽🍎📝
