Agreed! A waste gate actuator and boost control solenoid is maybe £150! I'm actually surprised the tuner didn't have any laying around.

Here's another good modification for a crossfire manual. Change the transmission and diff mounts at best for pu bushings but keep the stock engine mounts but change them. Also change the bushings in the shift links. That will give you a nice shift feel, almost bmw/zf like. Only downside will be the shifter will move slightly and you will have a little bit of diff whine when under heavy acceleration which is simply traveling through the stiffer mounts. Do it and you won't regret. Transforms the mushy shift feel into something really nice (for a Mercedes manual)

Remember: Asda trolley dents in the doors, biscuit crumbs rubbed into the upholstery and barely attached front bumpers add just as much extra horsepower as those precisely installed bonnet-vents!

Exactly! It's had the engine swap and some "forging" I reckon a little series on this would be awesome. Get some proper Coilovers on it, do a proper exhaust, sort out the solenoid and so on... Then do a lap of a circuit of their choosing. I'd watch the hell out of that

​@@samuelgarrod8327 That's the factory engine in a GSI, not a swap, and they've already got it forged, put a GTX2876 on it, Deka 630cc injectors, asnu or aem fuel pump, C20LET clutch and it'll make 400 wheel all day every day

@@samuelgarrod8327It’s not the engine that was swapped, it was the GSi turbo unit that was swapped out for the Astra VXR K04 unit which is already good for 300bhp… It’s a forged engine so technically could run a bigger turbo and get closer to 400 safely with the correct supporting mods.

The reason it's got oil in the plug valley is cause Z20LETs have plastic valve covers that are notorious for warping. The only permanent solution is replacement, replacing the gasket is temporary and it'll come back in a month tops Also the mistery issue thing is quite a popular thing in the Z20 world, they go great but when they break it's annoying as hell to figure out The reason you have boost issues is cause of a cracked exhaust manifold, it's a common failure point of Z20 K04's, they're very difficult to find and usually 700£, it's cheaper to just buy a Stage 2 from KRS and it'll make 300 all day.

The Safira needs to be Will's daily driver. I expect reviews every 3 months.

Gotta say it lads, been following all of you scince the car throttle days, alex, rory,jack,ethan and latley you pair, edwin and will, are definitely producing the best content alex and the boys where doin great but dunno where they going now, maybe being so big has made them comfortable and they have lost the drive hopefully they dont see this and get salty lol but had to be said, edwin and will keep it up man uv got that opd top gear flare that keeps me coming back and giggling as i sit here on my sofa after work watching, keep it up lads great stuff love from ozzy xxx

The SRT6, obviously, is a lot more fun to drive as is the convertible. The standard coupe is by a country mile the worst so I understand the hatred for this one. Having driven a standard coupe and SRT6 convertible (my late dad had both at one point or another) - they are night and day apart.

Watching Edwin jump over the bonnet made me laugh more than it really should have😂

Funniest I’ve watched out of all three ex-CT channels. You’ve got the magic formula- don’t change. Cheers.

The thing with those MB twinspark V engines is that they were already relatively high output for their size, almost all of them can benefit from proper tubular manifolds if you have the couple of grand they cost but most people either fit forced induction or swap to one of the bigger engines. Many of the parts are mix and match and pretty strong, the six speed in this will survive OK behind the 350bhp AMG 5.4 V8 although the 5 litre is much easier to find on the cheap.

I’m still consistently staggered how you guys have distilled so much of that “old Top Gear” spirit into this channel. It’s genuinely incredible.

If you want to mod a car cheap to improve top speed you could literally get a giant sheet of correx (plastic cardboard) and self-tap a flat floor to your car for lower drag. Helps fuel economy too! Very nice of Edwin to donate the rest of his budget by the way! It's nice to see presenters of a car show actually being helpful to each other
