Georgian players and fans celebrated after their side pulled off an upset with a win over Portugal to qualify for the knockout stage of their first major tournament, thanks to an early Khvicha Kvaratskhelia strike and a Georges Mikautadze penalty.

He was born and raised in France and plays there too, but he is ethnically Georgian (his family migrated there in the 1990s, after the fall of Soviet Union, over million people had to migrate out of Georgia in those years because the fall of Soviet union caused the total collapse of infrastructure and killed most jobs) and chose to play for the country of his family origin... That's why his french is so french :)
