In this making a creepy crypt wall panels video we share a huge graveyard Halloween prop must have. If you are looking for inspiration for your haunted cemetery or spooky graveyard we hope this design may help. We took several ideas from New Orleans cemeteries and Disney Haunted Mansion finishes. Each wall was framed with 3/4" ply ripped down and skinned with 1/4" plywood. We created the plant on crypt shapes with 3/4" plywood pieces. Each wall was covered with a mortar concrete texture and faux painted. The facade wall flats were bolted together and secured with jack stands and a huge haunted house vortex tunnel scary mouth exit at the end of the maze. We also covered the walls with faux greenery and vines. In this diy video we also show some clips from some older haunt videos as well as a cemetery entrance gate with pillars and a giant Halloween cemetery filled with tombstones, monuments, and mausoleums we created. If you are thinking of creating a cemetery crypt wall or backdrop on your garage door we hope this how to helps give you some ideas.

I decided to do most of my tombstone epitaphs in Latin, partly to avoid having anything specific, and partly because I think it makes them seem older. That’s one potential solution for having something there that doesn’t distract, but obviously not ideal for every situation. Another one I’ve played with is the look of erosion, where you can tell it said something but it’s no longer legible. I do appreciate the idea of adding pieces on later that are interchangeable and modular, and it’s especially helpful that you guys have a process of coating and painting that you use repeatedly, so there’s a continuity that’s easier to replicate in the future. For me, it’s more of a “what supplies do I have right now?” process, so my props don’t always look the same.
