Just an off-topic sidenote to start thinking about... property security/privacy. With your awesome transparency comes property/equipment safety security concerns. It's probably time to start considering a pretty robust, and stylish fence/barrier from the road so nobody can mess with your stuff. If i were you I'd start 2 or 3 rows of hearty pines and then a fence along the road. And lastly a remote controlled gate. Make the gate wide enough and far enough back from the road you can get semi's in with your "toys" haha. Unfortunately it's the world we live in where you have to do these things but it'll be better to be proactive instead of reactive on this front. Just my 2 cents as i want y'all to thrive...rock on man!🤘💪🇺🇸

First, total respect for being a man of your word. You did the right thing and it will come back to you in ways you never dreamed. Second, I am really impressed that the topsoil guy was so close on his estimate. Two truckloads (2%) sure isn’t anything to complain about, that’s for sure. He know his business and was also fair to you in terms of what was paid and the job was done professionally. So it’s a win-win and you covered half your costs! Way to go!

10k for that soil, around me at least, is under 20 per cubic yard delivered. If you screen it maybe 32. So after cost he is likely profiting 20 to 30 percent. That's right where a business should be. If Adam had the infrastructure to sell and distribute the soil he may have profited an additional 5 to 10k, but the investment would never pay off. Why do business if it's not going to be profitable?

Factor additional revenue from your channel with both the excitement of the pond build plus a new video each day for over a week now, I think..additional subscribers, too for future profit from the channel.. I still would have went with your original size. They say bigger ponds tend to take care of their own problems better, like getting grown over and the surface moss, etc. but it is your train, Jesse... Rob it any way you want. That said, selling the topsoil was a great idea. I am also fascinated how close he was.

Remember your selling a swelled yd³. It's been fluffed when you stripped it. Your inplace yardage is only 12,000 yd³, so your truck count is skewed. Keep everything in perspective. (Swelled yd³ vs. bank yd³ vs compacted yd³) You have plenty of topsoil in that field if you need to barrow some. The only cost is grass seed.

Just curious how much a pond increases the value of your property? Like a $50k garage probably increases the value by $50k since you already have a garage/shop but does a mature well kept pond increase the value over the build cost and add long term investment value? Where I live you can't just build ponds like that.

I love the thing. My only complaints are the engine breaking is extremely unforgiving. It will lock up your rear tires in 2 wheel drive going down a steep hill. The gear selector can be tough to get into gear if you are on any sort of slope, and the throttle response is still a little spongy. Probably will end up getting a clutch kit in it at some point. Other than that it is a blast to ride and does everything I need it to. Who knows maybe we’ll be plowing snow off the pond with it
