Without the juxtaposition of the two grounded members of the group, the chaos seems more uniform among the remaining members and thereby less chaotic. Chaos, when left to its own devices, will inevitably descend into the madness of Order.

It was cool of Rhee to let the gang read her dream journal for ideas.

I would love to see you guys turn this into its own series. Call it "In The Zone with The Highrollers" and make it a montly one-shot with different guests and different members of the Highrollers in each episode.

you are all wonderful roleplayers and your chemistry is amazing, but i am continually impressed by how devoted Kim has always been to her characters. (not to say that anyone else isn't as great at it)

I LOVE that Kim became essentially the tutorial for the next group

I love episodes where Rhi just spends all of it struggling to not laugh

I'm still impressed how Tom turned a joke about melon/watermelon into an actual good story for his character

Loving the energy of this! More focus on the roleplay and constructing a story together than DnD. Not that I don’t appreciate Mark’s storytelling, have kept coming back for that for many years now. But the mechanics of building a story cooperatively, on equal level, without hundreds of rules, really creates such freedom to be spontaneous and creative. And it really shows, especially given you are all pretty experienced roleplaying and used to bouncing off each other. Good stuff! ❤️

The only thing I might've added to the epilogue is a new set of "adventurers" looking at (the outcome) as they walked past

Imagining any of these scenes animated makes me really wish I could animate. It’s so tantalising😢

So, there are obvious elements of Annihilation in the body horror, but also a lot of Roadside Picnic (loosely adapted as Stalker, which was loosely adapted as S.T.A.L.K.E.R.) in particular with the wish at the centre of the Zone (and 'the Zone' as a definite article.)

Love the Mannetaur concept.

I kept having my own thoughts through out this on the complications. In the Forge I think the multiply would have worked that once the characters were branded the part that was branded forms away from them and they can feel the vitality leave and form this shadowed version of themselves with the only part not shadowed being the area that was where the brand was applied to the character, So Trots character youd see the spinal area being the only real portion of the now shadow and etc.... Then in the Mall, the glass breaking alerts the mannequins but also since now theirs less glass to reflect them they are able to move more freely and the more glass that was attempted to be broken the easier it was for them to come after the party and the more mannequins are released each time glass was broken the mannequins becoming more and more drippy and organic, showing that the more victims they had "captured" the more grotesque and visceral they became (think cannibal corpse album cover) the mannequins just becoming more skinless organs and muscle bloody and deformed attempts at a simulacrum of a human. And with Trot and his deep secret maybe instead of the guy holding a gun to him trying to betray him we learn, that trot believed he killed him in self defense but in all actuality Trots character killed him and had always planned on killing him to get the better cut of loot but upon killing him he had a mental break and he created the memory of the guy trying to kill him to ease his consciousness.

Also thoughts on what the Zone is. It's the primordial ooze, it's life, it's death, it's the deepest darkest nightmares the Boogeyman the fear of the dark, fear of society that has permeated through the eons. It's also invention, It's Prometheus bringing fire to man. It's Evolution.

This is very similar to the Southern Reach Trilogy by Jeff Van Der Meer in its framing.

SPOILERS FOR THE END OF THIS STREAM Epilogue Addendum: As the mutated mass that was once Billy rages in his glass prison, the Bureau brings an exterminator, a film student, a convict, and a time-displaced detective to observe the creatures that they have contained that have wandered out of the Zone before they begin their expedition...

I'd love to see a longer-form Avatar: Legends campaign. After you finish Warhammies. For shorter games (one or two shots) I recommend Kobolds Ate my Baby or Into the Dark
