Yep, Slinky is part of the family. The thoughts that went through your mind during those agonizing 2 hours, must have been coming up with so many scenarios. Like you keep saying, It is so wonderful to have friends in the hobby. Looks like they found him so fast, and knew exactly how to handle him , you still had vacation in Costa Rica.😊

At least you know now that the cage needs reinforcement before the black throats get in there because Slinky is easier to catch then the black throats. So glad he was found alive and well and that you got your vacation/honeymoon. You have some really great friends.

This is why, as a keeper and if you want to have a life, you HAVE to have other keeper friends. We all know things happen, but knowing you have people that know what they are doing working to fix it when you can't is a life saver...

Having friends, people who YOU have helped who then "jump into action" to help you.... that is how good people live. I am happy you waited to tell us until all was resolved... but most of all I am thankful that Slinky was found and is safe.

I feel for you dude, one of my sulcatas got out the day of my sister’s wedding. To add insult to injury my Dad noticed it right before we were leaving for the wedding and didn’t tell us until the after the reception was over when we were on our way to a hotel because he knew we would have stayed behind and didn’t want to ruin the wedding since we were all part of wedding party. I understood his rationale but I was gutted. Anytime an animal get’s loose iis devastating and if you have animals it usually not if but when one will get out. It certainly something I don’t wish on my worst enemy.

When I saw the title, I almost didn't watch because I thought Slinky was gone and I wasn't ready to wrap my heart and mind around that loss. Crazy how I find myself emotionally involved with a big naughty lizard that lives 3 time zones away from me.

Holy crap I think I could hear everybody's heart sink in unison when I saw the notification! Thank God you've got diligent friends. I feel like a lot of people would go out there, but it takes a different type of mindset to find a proverbial needle in a haystack, against all odds. Those are the type of friends you keep around!

I was so worried at first, but when I heard Paul and Jerry were there looking, I knew they would find him. Slinky isn't going nowhere. It's almost funny now that he is found. He is such a a smart lizard. How he knew to get out at that one spot. Just crazy. I love him. I'm glad you guys didn't have to leave. It looks so beautiful in Costa Rica.

So glad Slinky is ok. I was about to cry. Thank goodness you have awesome friends and lucky Jerry happened to be in town. Hope you and Kate had a good vacation.

When I saw we lost slinky I was thinking NO NO NO and getting ready to cry. I thought he had passed away. You are so lucky to have a great community of animal lovers around you. By the way I did shed a little tear of happiness that they found him.

Glad Slinky was found and that he’s ok. My Nile monitor escaped from my hands while outside because of a surprise visit from my neighbors dog. Wango ( the lizards name ) was under my house for a day and a half before I could get my hands on him and bring him in.

That Slinky is such a scamp!!! It’s good to have friends that you can call on in an emergency. Everyone was so concerned and determined to find him. I’m so glad everything worked out well. Of course, although it was hard on everyone, at least you learned of a weakness in the enclosure. I am so glad you and your lovely wife had that honeymoon trip even if it was a few years late!

I am so glad that you found him. When you were setting him up in that enclosure I had the thought that you need to build a lockout building that's connected to his enclosure instead of the little box. You can that way keep him safe without having to move him and you can lock him in that room and know that he's safe connected to that enclosure

Jesus christ, man!!! I nearly had a heart attack. I avoided watching this video for two days because I thought Slinky was dead!🤦‍♂️ I finally just watched it, and I'm so relieved. Kenan, I can't even imagine the stress and horror you felt when you found out! I'm so thankful all the guys came out to help track this troublemaker down and get him home! After watching this channel for so many years, I can't imagine Slinky not being there anymore. What piece of work this monitor is.😂
