We'll Have Our Home Again But You're Holding Off Tyranids

Another 40k video! I've been thinking of a way I could use this song without the certain connotations that it has, and hopefully I found it! I know the song might be a bit quiet when it's not the chorus, but it was kind of hard to fit the chaotic Tyranid battle with the quieter parts of the song, hopefully it works. In other news, I'll be 21 in two days!

@@Jafar545 Revelation is incredibly allegorical, and it doesn't take much imagination to imagine swords as missiles and cavalry as armored vehicles. @@Marines_Memelevolent The narrator (and presumed author) literally claims to have seen those things... So you are actually willing to argue that he couldn't tell a sword from a missile? If you take the stance of it being actual prophecy as opposed to a work of literary fiction, like the OP obviously does, your mode of exegesis becomes less reliable the further you move away from close reading based interpretation. The allegorical argument is utterly useless in this regard since I could also easily claim that it's not about weapons at all but merely symbolizes the spiritual struggle within every believer's heart/soul. Within your framework of "imagine as" you can't offer any rebuttal whatsoever to this.

I lay below the firing step of the trench. Saying a ave Imperator as I hold the prayer beads with brass aquila that mom gave me, before I was drafted into the 271st Cadian regiment. " Full charge packs and fix bayonets", shouts Shouts sergeant major Van Dreik our RSM. I only fix my bayonet, as I already have a full charge pack in my lasgun. Colonel Marrtin stands a few meters away from me holding a bolt pistol in his right hand, and a whistle in his left. "For saint Celestine, and the holy god emperor of Terra!", shouts the colonel as we begin to clamber over the lip of the trench. What lays before me is a hellish landscape, covered in dead guardsmen and nids. I know that certain death awaits me out here. But I know if I die, I know that the emperor will take me soul into his eternal service.

I do detest the undertones of the song, but this context makes it work. Because it is not humans vs humans, but humans vs the tyranids. Those fellbeasts which can work in secret on a planet, like a poison in the vein, by way of the genestealer cults. Or they can work plainly by planetary invasion. Whichever the case, you have lost as soon as they have made landfall. If not today, then another. Even so, the indominable human spirit strives against it. I loathe the hate exuded from the song, a hate derived from willful ignorance rather than from honest observation. But when fighting against aliens from another galaxy? Oh yes, I do so love it.
