Stalin, after winning more than 100% of the vote (!) in the Moscow district in 1937, gave a speech in which he stated: "Never and nowhere has there been a democracy like ours." After which he murdered tens of millions more people. Stalin is still revered in Russia, so the truth about democracy still applies.

There is freedom of press in Russia. It was very easy to accomplish, one just has to close down every Radio or TV station not belonging to the state or presidential office, to silence every voice not supporting the dictator and force every critical journalist to change profession or leave the country so those who support the dictator can freely and enthusiastically say what they think. Or should think. Simple.

As an Political Science teacher, my notes for those students would be : Nastya 3:42 : "we don't have too strong centralized power, we are far from a dictatorship, we are an autocracy". Dear Nastya, an autocracy is a "system of government by one person with absolute power". So "one person" is a little bit kind of "centralized" ( in fact),... and "one person with absolute power" is not "very far" from a dictator ( sometimes). Nastya, you say also that "the media are independant", but the problem is just that they "are blocked". So thank you Nastya for those explanations but I will have to see you again. Next one : Kostya 5:07 : "it's just propaganda, I don't see ANY reason to call us so", but you also say : "in many cases, the punishment fo our political prisoners is fair, but not always". Ok then, just let's say that Russia is a "democracy with political prisoners.... that are not very fairly punished". Thank you Kostya for that new definition of democracy, but you will have come back with Nastya. Yekaterina ( my favorite) : " our media are quite apolitical, we just reflect the president's policy". Ok, Yekaterina, could you tell us a bit more about that "apolitical president's policy" ? Student at 8:32 : "The EU Parliament ( 27 members, nothing to do with the Council of Europe 46 members but let's imagine that you're not supposed to know those details) should better care about Lithuania where the president is in power since VERY long time" . Well, their president is in power since 3 years... and ok, 3 years is quite long for young people like you, but it's much less than 23 years if you see what I mean... And "unlike Europe", "we have freedom of speech, it's just that you will be labelled as foreign agent but you can continue your destructive activities". So you just defined freedom of speech as a destructive activity, and blame Europe for not to having it.... Ok student, I think you're gonna have to study something else... What about a career in the army, there is some good job opportunities at the moment in the Donbass. Oh, and Yekaterina ( my favorite) again : " we cannot demonstrate in the street with slogans because it's not in our traditions, we are peaceful people". Thank you Yekaterina, I think you should visit the Donbass with student to spread our traditions of peacefulness a bit more.

Russia actually is a democracy. Those who say its not are incorrect. Its a specific type called "guided democracy" In guided democracies, citizens vote and have representatives so it "feels" like they have a voice. But in reality its all being decided for them and their voice has little impact. Russia is basically a one party (united russia) system led by Putin and Dmitry Medvedev (chairman of the party) and there is little to no opposition. United Russia also totally dominates the Duma, the representatives roughly equivalent to the US congress. In fact, serious opponents to United Russia rule end up being sent to jail (case in point, Alexy Nevalny). I have no proof but believe elections are "rigged" by United Russia so that they always win. Now some Russian will flame me about how the US democracy is not working well and thats fine because its not perfect, but we don't have the same president for 16 years like Putin and that's dangerous.

False equivalency. Germany was pro-German in the 30s. There was nothing to not be proud of. Russia, on the other hand, is a neo-soviet state that persecutes ethnic nationalists and has more in common with antifa and pro-diversity conservatives, than it does with groups that want to preserve their people. Antisemitism is a criminal offence in Russia, and chabad has a massive influence on the government and economy. But every smoothbrain just wants to call everyone they don’t like “nazis”

@@dwillbecancelledsoon4086 What is "pro-diversity conservatives", in the places where it can possibly have a meaning? What would be the place of _Antifas_ in the Russian society today? Context note: _Antifa_ emerged from opposition to Hitler, Mussolini, Pétain and Franco's regimes "and the likes" in Europe. Close to several anarchist movements, but not necessarily anarchists. I don't see any anarchism they could be close to in Russia. Most European "_Antifas_" today tend to fight Putin's minions without mercy when they meet them, but I have heard that they might support him and them on other continents, so it's not clear for me what or who you are talking about.

@@dwillbecancelledsoon4086 Umberto Eco's 14 typical elements of a fascism:''The cult of tradition. “One has only to look at the syllabus of every fascist movement to find the major traditionalist thinkers. The Nazi gnosis was nourished by traditionalist, syncretistic, occult elements.” The rejection of modernism. “The Enlightenment, the Age of Reason, is seen as the beginning of modern depravity. In this sense, Ur-Fascism can be defined as irrationalism.” The cult of action for action’s sale. “Action being beautiful in itself, it must be taken before, or without, any previous reflection. Thinking is a form of emasculation.” Disagreement is treason. “The critical spirit makes distinctions, and to distinguish is a sign of modernism. In modern culture, the scientific community praises disagreement as a way to improve knowledge.” Fear of difference. “The first appeal of a fascist or prematurely fascist movement is an appeal against the intruders. Thus Ur-Fascism is racist by definition.” Appeal to social frustration. “[…] one of the most typical features of the historical fascism was the appeal to a frustrated middle class, a class suffering from an economic crisis or feelings of political humiliation, and frightened by the pressure of lower social groups. The obsession with a plot. “The followers must feel besieged. The easiest way to solve the plot is the appeal to xenophobia.” The enemy is both weak and strong. “[…] the followers must be convinced that they can overwhelm the enemies. Thus, by a continuous shifting of rhetorical focus, the enemies are at the same time too strong and too weak.” Pacifism is trafficking with the enemy. “For Ur-Fascism there is no struggle for life but, rather, life is lived for struggle.” Contempt for the weak. “Elitism is a typical aspect of any reactionary ideology.” Everybody is educated to become a hero. “in Ur-Fascist ideology, heroism is the norm. This cult of heroism is strictly linked with the cult of death.” Machismo and Weaponry. “This is the origin of machismo (which implies both disdain for women and intolerance and condemnation of nonstandard sexual habits, from chastity to homosexuality). Since even sex is a difficult game to play, the Ur-Fascist hero tends to play with weapons-doing so becomes an ersatz phallic exercise.” Selective Populism. “There is in our future a TV or Internet populism, in which the emotional response of a selected group of citizens can be presented and accepted as the Voice of the People. Ur-Fascism speaks Newspeak. “All the Nazi or Fascist schoolbooks made use of an impoverished vocabulary, and an elementary syntax, in order to limit the instruments for complex and critical reasoning.” Which one of these 14 characteristics can you NOT recognize in Russian society?

There was no president in Lithuanian that has been in possition for more than 8 consecutive or non-consecutive years as it is reglamented by our constitution. As for Lithuanian parlament the story is bassicaly the same, present power controlled party was elected in 2020 and has still one year in power after which new elections will be held. There was no power controlled party in Lithuania that has been reelected since we gained indepence in 1990. In your ass russian international relations.
