We Left Bali: This is Why 🇮🇩 Indonesia Travel Vlog 2024

After five weeks exploring the Island of Gods, we finally left Bali and arrived on the island of Java. After taking the ferry from Gilimanuk, we settled into the small town of Banuwangi to start making plans for the rest of our Indonesia adventure, but the island had other ideas. Travel isn't always a vacation, but it's always worth it.

Indonesian food usually vary from place to place. I suggest you try something like soto or rawon if you are in East Java. Especially in Surabaya, rawon is very good. Gado Gado or Pecel are also good over there if you like vegetables. You should also try rendang in its proper place once you reach Jakarta, Padang Restaurant.

@@mikeandashley there are many gado gado dishes. Actually, gado gado is betawi dish, not east java. East java has gado gado, but more like surabaya gado gado. They are different from Betawi style. Pecel is from javanese in central java, and west java has karedok as their own style. Karedok is sundanese. Jakarta is the melting pot of all cultures, but we still keep things separate for each culture to preserve their culture and respect them. So you need to identify the origin of dishes, and find the restaurant accordingly. While surabaya should be dominated by east java people and madura. Their culture should reflect in their dishes as well.

Because you were first time visiting indonesia with many cultures, religions, language etc you must be culture shock. Like us live in different 5 religions in my country we get used to with all those things, we have 6 national holidays for every religions but we are respect each other with other religions. In indonesia we have 300 ethnicity, 1000 difference language, cultures, skins but we are still one nations and we are welcome to see other countries visiting our country, that have you been said indonesia are so nice and friendly, just look the smile to you when you in the ferry 😁.

That’s amazing and 100% why we love Indonesia. So many cultures and people living in harmony! We weren’t as shocked with the call to prayer as we thought we’d be, however we didn’t expect it so early! It was nice though, our schedules were the best they could ever be in Java! 🤗 We did end up taking the train quite a bit. It took some figuring out, but we got it! 👌 We just couldn’t go to some of the southern places we wanted due to the flooding. 😔 It all worked out though! We had an amazing time and going back through this footage makes us want to come back sooooon! Thanks so much for watching! 🙏

Most Indonesians prefer Coffee 'Tubruk' which is served naturally (without filtering) ,as the aroma and body is still significant........ When you prepare this coffee ,you should let it simmer a few minutes ,before you drink it ...... That 'Kapal Api' brand you are drinking is actually second grade from 'Excelso' ,which both came from the same producer 'PT. Santos Jaya Abadi' ,which also export mostly to Europe ......

That's Kopi Tubruk, Indonesian style black coffee. People usually roast it at home and ground it not finely and brew it with lots of sediments in it. Many don't filter the sediments. We enjoy it with or without palm sugar. 😅😅😅

@@mikeandashley BTW, you got mediocre Kopi Tubruk at that hostel tbh. You got to go to some specific local coffee shops or local eateries to get the decent ones. Many people nowadays buy ready-made ground coffee at the grocery shop. Some prefer to buy fresh beans and roast it at home.

Maybe you can visit Bawean Island near East Java It's not as beautiful as other places in Indonesia, but it has fantastic historical value because Bawean Island is one of proof that Atlantis existed in Sundaland (Indonesia) according to the results of research by engineer Dhani Irwanto as a hydrologist, Prof. Arysio Santos & Stephen Oppenheimer.

@@mikeandashley According to theory, Atlantis was a real event that was made into a myth, Arysio Nunes dos Santos, Ph.D once said that Sundaland (Indonesia) was once the center of civilization in its time this is very logical because Sundaland has a tropical climate compared to other continents which before the last Pleistocene era had an extreme cold climate that was twice as cold as today and at that time various human races including Aryans came from Sundaland until a major disaster made them migrate to India and other places including Egypt and American continent.
