I just picked one of these up second hand for about $100 less than retail. Personally I love it, I have large relatively strong hands and for me it’s a pretty easy one handed open/closer. I love the look and feel of the knife. It’s definitely not for everyone, I just love how it locks up like a bank vault, and that it’s something very different, not just another frame lock flipper. Like you said everyone has their own opinion.

Thank you for putting up the review! I almost pulled the trigger on it, but after you showed disengaging the lock it became a no go.

They should made it in Italian style with XL blade, 6 inches. And without any thumbstud. Heavy blade is easier to flick open and you close it with two hands or using back of your leg. Jimping is not needed. Old traditional knives doesn't have it in most cases.

The designer does utilize that window lock. But I think it was intended to have washers

How do you seemingly not put the prototypes in a bunch of objective hands to carry & use for a week or so to solicit feedback? It doesn’t take too many duds to cool consumer interest in a brand. WE does not have Spyderco like variety in their lineup to be able to afford having a lousy one in the group. As you know, I was intrigued by my first being aware of the model. Sure am glad you pointed me to your review of it.

Wow! What a shock to come from a company with as good of a reputation as WE. And, what a shame because I agree that it’s gorgeous. Nice review. 👍🏻

this is a 2 hond knife. the barrings dont mean its a one hand flipper type. they just mean its super smooth to open

Ok, after watching I have to ask a question. Why are you trying to force a lock back to perform like a framelock flipper? All modern lock backs should be considered a two hand closer. If you find one here and there that are one handers that's great. But this one is obviously not that. This knife should be closed with the blade oriented downward. If you hold the knife at a down angle you can unlock it and after moving your fingers then roll the knife to a blade upward position. That way you and gravity help control the closing. The technique looks good and works well when practiced. As for the opening action, it sounds and appears like the detent is too weak. This lock design will necessitate a strong detent. Not a medium detent, not an ok detent, not even a good detent. It will have to be a strong detent in order to store enough energy to overcome the resistance of the lock back design. My advice is to return it. You obviously are not happy with it. And the price is ridiculous if you don't like it. I would advise any of my viewers the same way. And I have a suggestion. If you want to try a great full size tacti-cool lock back then consider the Cold Steel Recon 1. It is quite possibly the best tactical lock back design on the market. Also in S35, but with a very ergo G10 handle. Also available in three different blade profiles.

You are right but it's impossible to push through the detent without the blade flying up and bouncing back due to the bearings and lack of half stop. It's like they tried to make a lockback perform like a framelock. It has been returned.

@@edcmag1, good move. You can invest the money elsewhere. $260.00 is enough to get a decent firearm. In fact I just picked up a Taurus G3 for $262.00 after tax and BGC. And it is fantastic. It hasnt cut me even one time.

I just find out today that this knife exists and think I know what went through the mind of the guys who approved. I checked the we knives official website today and I saw some push daggers there. So I am assuming that they do not shy away from making at least some knives for self defense. In the Blocao I think their idea was to make a tactical gentleman's knife and try to get something of the Cold Steel fans, giving their materials like titanium and a milled pocket clip that Cold Steel does not offer to their fans. Now I think that all the points you made are valid. It really looks, by what you have shown a dangerous knife for the operator and the smooth handle does make sense for this knife.

It’s unfortunate you want to apply one mode of thinking towards then knife. Ultimately tools have different functionalities, maybe it’s not the tool for you? Or perhaps you need to adapt to the tool at hand out of respect for it’s personality not yours.
