We just bought a 1958 Ford Thunderbird for $2,000 that's partially restored 🤯

Our friend Jamie asked us to come take a look at a restoration project that he needs gone ASAP. It's a 1958 Ford Thunderbird and was covered in parts when we first looked at it but today we're pulling it out and loading it on the trailer to bring her home - we didn't buy it for $2,000, we stole it!

    WOW!!!!! Seeing the vehicle outside the garage, reveals the true beauty of the body design. This deserves to be refinished as it is , with no body mods. It's value can only increase as you guys go thru the steps to bring it to completion. What a beautiful project!

    Hi Chad and Jolene, I love watching you chop cars but this one is telling me to put it back together as original. Might be a good idea to tap into viewers that like original restorations that may become more open minded to chopping. What a car! what a bargain! Can't wait to see it come to life 😃😃

    @@RobertBrugess-xj8fj The roof is the part that lets down the car. I would like my commented post to have positive energy rather that light hearted threats. Chads obviously an artist and would feel pressure to be creative on this project. Not fair comment that he may destroy it. Better off a car going to chad than potentially sitting outside rusting to nothing with another buyer. We get one chance to do what we want with our lives and Chads just being true to him self. I like original myself but if he wants to put another roof on it, I can't wait till he does it to see how it turns out. Chad is the devil to original cars but he makes them look better we all have to admit. Let's see what the devil he does and be happy for him whilst he deals with the hell of grafting things that don't fit 😀😀 😈😈

    This could be a whole new KZread series for you guys, running alongside your current videos. A complete rebuild from paint to assembly and completion, inviting guys to come on board to assist with the job. " The ' 58 T bird Build " . He’s had a few nice cars in the past. It’s unfortunate that he doesn’t know which is which. He’s a heck of a hard worker, and put in long hours every day to make a living. But I’m pretty sure you can expect this car to get destroyed.

    The way it is sitting it looks like the stance of a gasser right now! It will be alot of work to put it all back together but well worth it. I saw a comment in here that one was for sale online for $18K and it was not a complete resto so it might well be worth doing a complete assembly of the interior and everything as well as the modifications that you want to do. I wonder if you could make a removable hard top out of it? That would be bad ass then you could have a convertible whenever you wanted and it would make Jolene happy. I still cannot believe the deal that you guys got on it, with the little bit that you paid for it you guys could even pay a mechanic to do the assembly work that you don't want to do on it and still come out way ahead. Be back tomorrow to see what is next, I can't wait to find out!

  • @JTTTTx

    A reminder- unit body car, be very careful with the roof. You might want to check out how the factory convertibles were made , you wouldn’t want to fold the car in half. As I mentioned earlier, there is a reason that the windshields seldom get removed when restoring the 58-to 60 SquareBirds. Good luck, looking forward to seeing what you do next.

This fully blown apart paint project 58’ Square Bird is hopefully all there after getting fully disassembled all just to be neglected, life happens but this is still a crazy opportunity to come calling, that was nestled up in Chad’s neck of the woods, it’s a hell of a score and couldn’t go to better home, inhabited just the guy to revive it to its fullest glory…8)

    I would like to be living close to Chad at the moment, I would gladly spend a couple of weeks repairing and installing the electrics in this car.I would be a shame not to do this. However I live about 15k miles away,retired .Still it his car and if he wishes to chop it up,so be it. I think his phone will run hot as Thunderbird people try to buy it,after all it is not an old Terraplane.

    No one here knows how to to strap a car on a trailer. You only strap the rear axle down then you strap the lowest suspension on the front. The car will rock on the shocks but can't come off. When you strap the body the shocks will go up and down and release you straps.

  • @johnboywaltonbeard4699
    @johnboywaltonbeard4699 Жыл бұрын

    Chad… Sure you are going to chop something on this T-Bird, as that is your thing. I was thinking, Lower the roof a little, Make the Hood Scoop Taller, and make the back Longer, not shorter! And then Air Suspension so you can take it up and down.

    Most people fix their cars up and drive them. These videos are made to inspire viewers to customize their cars. Chad doesn’t build cars to drive them. He has told us many times that he doesn’t know anything about mechanical aspects of a car.
