This is how I learned to fish 52 years ago! Every weekend my Grandma would take us to Bennett Springs, to the camper, where we would wait for the whistle to blow. We loved watching the minks move on the other side of the banks, waiting for that whistle. I learned, let every cast out on the whistle and while they were usually tangled up with others lines, then I would cast out! Best childhood ever!

I used to go every year to opening day at Roaring River. The draw is that they release brood stock into the river in the fall to spawn, so on opening day there is the opportunity to catch an 8-12 lb trophy of a life time. And yes, it is shoulder to shoulder for a mile or more. Fond memories of some great times at Roaring River. Great video.

Thats insane, the amount of people there. I wonder how many trout end up floating from people mishandling them. Living in North Central Arkansas, I've always wanted to go up to MO and fish the opener, but shoulder to shoulder practically, sounds like chaos 😆. Looks fun, but sounds like chaos. How long is that river? Great video Cole.

Cherokee north Carolina has trout lakes with tag fish opening day . Was 10 dollars plus tag fish fee. Would be a good record. Then while there fish by western Carolina college by overflow. If you whistle a long whistle a heron friend of mine will come for a trout tossed on boat ramp . Would share in spring while on nest and mid winter on coldest days!

I've only had speckled trout, saltwater long ago back when dinosaurs roamed. But, I have heard trout is real good eating. Which where fish are caught can affect their taste. Like in North Louisiana, there's Ruston peaches, Saline watermelons, but as far as I know , trout one need to go to Arkansas, Oklahoma.

This sh_t is getting ridiculous. I’m getting tired of it. Know you need to make money but this is getting over the top. Already 2 commercials, if we get to 6 in this video I’m unsubscribing and I know you can do something about it, just don’t be so greedy at our expense. Love you guys es videos but I can’t take these commercials anymore so we shall see how it goes. 6'6" is fine! We use rods up to 8ft all the time for trout. Just Light to medium light power that you can toss light line and lures with!
