This is how I learned to fish 52 years ago! Every weekend my Grandma would take us to Bennett Springs, to the camper, where we would wait for the whistle to blow. We loved watching the minks move on the other side of the banks, waiting for that whistle. I learned, let every cast out on the whistle and while they were usually tangled up with others lines, then I would cast out! Best childhood ever!
Stay safe with the storms tonight. Cheers from the great state of Arkansas!!
I used to go every year to opening day at Roaring River. The draw is that they release brood stock into the river in the fall to spawn, so on opening day there is the opportunity to catch an 8-12 lb trophy of a life time. And yes, it is shoulder to shoulder for a mile or more. Fond memories of some great times at Roaring River. Great video.
That’s rough fella’s. Hope you guys get in some wild fish soon
Looks like a very successful day
Wow, that’s really sporting. You are quite the angler, congrats!
glad you made to our opening day. i work for Mo. state parks for over 20 years , been there many times . i sure wish i would of known you were going to be there i would of volunteered for there instead of Bennett springs , happy for you all
That sweet precious Cypress, he is so handsome.
Looks like you had a great time Cole. Thanks
The Roaring River opener is the piscatorial eqivalent of Woodstock.

Nailed it!!!
Looks like fun. I went to a trout farm and we caught 9 giants in a short time. It was a blast.
Welcome to my childhood! That's how EVERY trout season started! The adults tolerated us. I'm talkin' 1970's. I miss those days!

Such a beautiful well kept Place. Glad to see you enjoying it brother. You’re a fisherman’s fisherman. One of the best I’ve ever fished with!

We need to go back when the crowd cuts back so we can see it better! You’ve got to come hit our Arkansas trout fisheries! They’re world class!!
I grew up in Washington state and I remember people lining the bank for the opener of steelhead season but it is much colder then the weather here in Arkansas yes I live in Arkansas now and love it trout can be fun but it doesn't beat out Salmon biget Salmon I caught in Washington was 30 pounds and it gave a great fight
I love that Cypress baby! He’s getting so big and smart! I was waiting for you to clean them and cook them! But I guess I’ll never know! Lol!!! I hope y’all are doing well! Lots of prayers for y’all! Love and blessings from this old Bama girl!❤❤❤
I live in Cassville and drive through there everyday for work it was crazy ,they also let my kids have a trout day off school
So is this just catch and release or are you keeping any? Good to see you. Love to all ❤
Amazing 😊
Ive got 1 good thing to say about Trout, they make good Flathead bait.
Great 👍
I love Roaring River and not to far in Joplin, but man theres nothing enticing about being there opening day... that being said- I love seeing other people there :)
Been to Bennett, Roaring River, Crane, and Taneycomo many times. If I have to deal with combat fishing, Taneycomo is the home of giants. I got spoiled fishing the Utah back country but still good to see Missouri's stocking program so successful.

@@COLE_and_JAY Never know... I might run into you there one of these days. Thanks for all of the fishing adventures and your beautiful family.
Jay would kill for a day like this. Don't forget to bring so.e fish home for jay an baby Cy.
Thats insane, the amount of people there. I wonder how many trout end up floating from people mishandling them. Living in North Central Arkansas, I've always wanted to go up to MO and fish the opener, but shoulder to shoulder practically, sounds like chaos 😆. Looks fun, but sounds like chaos. How long is that river? Great video Cole.
Hey look it's Jay! OH no she's home as usual. Nevermind.
Hi Cole, Jay, Cyprus and Summer. Great fishing video. That's crazy with all the people Looking like you're having a great time. Nice fish. God bless and love yall ❤❤

Yea that was quite a few people but it doesn’t compare to the amount of people that are lined the bank in salmon or steelhead season especially here in Michigan 👊
Thought your buddy was Spencer from River Certified for a second LOL as usual love your B-Roll p.s. I bought a few trout magnets because of you guys last year but up here in NY it doesn't open til 4/1
Been there a few times! Used to always camp, fish, and boating at Campbell Point in Schell Knob on Table Rock!

Great video beautiful place I bet that trout fishing was fun
Beautiful fish 😊
wow looks like fun take me
Let’s go!!
Cherokee north Carolina has trout lakes with tag fish opening day . Was 10 dollars plus tag fish fee. Would be a good record. Then while there fish by western Carolina college by overflow. If you whistle a long whistle a heron friend of mine will come for a trout tossed on boat ramp . Would share in spring while on nest and mid winter on coldest days!
I Been There Many Times!!❤️✝️
Screw that I’ll go up to the lake 2 miles up the road & bass fish 😂
That looks like the opposite of fun. Worse than our NY salmon river in October 😂
It's much prettier than Roaring river
I wouldn't want any part of that way to many people.
I ordered crappie magnets hope they work in Michigan

They do 👍
There is a spot on the Toe river that is exactly like that. The only difference is you would be the only one.
Sorry cole but the reason i fish is mostly solitude time to think and reflect fish are the bonus 😊
I'm going to tell you what I got 8000 lb fish at because what I fish at it's called late Martin but yeah I'm going to hit the like button

I live 10 minutes from there
Are u using a bobber for trout magnet?
I saw your short on tik tok where you were fishing out of a kayak and a boat wanted to go by where you were fishing. I saw you got a lot of negative comments what was he doing wrong just wondering??
Im sorry but im from Oregon and i dont see why pepole in AR, MO, AL go so nuts for trout.

I've only had speckled trout, saltwater long ago back when dinosaurs roamed. But, I have heard trout is real good eating. Which where fish are caught can affect their taste. Like in North Louisiana, there's Ruston peaches, Saline watermelons, but as far as I know , trout one need to go to Arkansas, Oklahoma.

A lot of people consider it "oficially" spring.states with a opening day its a social thing.opening day fishermans breakfast signs all over.big deal and a very social event.after a long winter, opening day is something to look forward to.here in Tn basically trout is openyr round.

Comment after you’ve fished the White River which blows everything in Oregon away combined.
It's much better if you use a pair of neddle nose pliers!!!!!!! Than to ever touch them with your hands
And why you not keeping any of the fish
Bennett Springs is a better Trout park in Missouri
Why go that far to fish and not keep any
Go buy yourself some trout. It's alot easier even though it doesnt taste quite as good!🙂 Pennsylvania has the same thing and Erie has steelhead spawn. Too many damn people!!!! Some are kind of aggressive and rude!
Who would want to fish that way ?? Gross
IDK, dosen't sound like fun to me. A few thousand people standing at the outflow of a hatchery, no thanks.
Never saw so many people fished in the same spot.
No jay no watch Cole show
So you like killing trout
Dam, we’re less than two minutes into the video and we got a advertising commercials wtf it seem😢like we are getting more and more commercials per video every week, your probably going to have at least 6. This sh_t is getting ridiculous. I’m getting tired of it. Know you need to make money but this is getting over the top. Already 2 commercials, if we get to 6 in this video I’m unsubscribing and I know you can do something about it, just don’t be so greedy at our expense. Love you guys es videos but I can’t take these commercials anymore so we shall see how it goes. Well video almost done so I guess you’re fine for now but same goes for any future videos and anybody else that I’m subscribed to🇺🇸

lol you know that’s how they make money right. Stop bitching and pay the fee if you don’t want commercials
Would a 6,6 rod be too big or what would you recommend?
@COLE_and_JAY
15 күн бұрын
6'6" is fine! We use rods up to 8ft all the time for trout. Just Light to medium light power that you can toss light line and lures with!
