Those shear hubs are a pretty good idea. Other brands would tear out the gears. It's one of those things that you should just keep on hand, almost guaranteed that you either won't need it, or will need it after hours. The turtle shells wear out, but you have time to replace them.

Our primary Variety of Grass for Hay is a Hybrid Coastal Bermuda Grass, Long fine leaves and stems.... Does not require conditioning..... We are Commercial Hay Growers..... We use Krone Easy- Cut 320 Disc Mowers mounted on KMC Caddies.... The Krone Disc Mowers have a uniquie shear protection on the Turtles of 2 roll-pins,,, and We have had 3 units running and In 6 years have yet to replace any roll-pins We only cut 200 acres maybe 4 times a season........
