We hike the Ruta del Cares in the Picos de Europa
EPIC!! This week we are heading off on a hike along the Rutas del Cares and we are absolutely blown away by it!! This route is situated in the Picos de Europa National Park in Northern Spain and we leave our campsite early and head to the little hamlet of Poncebos where we park Indie our Motorhome up in a lay-by (hoping she doesn’t get blocked in).
We were heading to the village of Cain which we thought was about 10 km away and the signs said it would take about 3 hours to get there. It is quite uphill to start with and then levels out as you follow the river deep in the gorge, clinging to the side of the mountain walls as we went along. We met some fellow hikers form the UK, Tim and Linda who were the best company and kept us going to our turnaround point where we have a quick cold drink and then we head back again. Absolutely amazing hike, like nothing we have encountered before. You really have to see it to believe it so come along with us on this adventure!

Wasn't it amazing 🤩 Do we have anything like that here at all?!?! There were a few moments where I had to hug the inside especially if people walked past 😂 Watching it back has just made us want to go back again and find some more epic ones - maybe not with such big drops and narrow paths though 😂 Thanks for watching both - Amanda & Mark 😘
For anyone who is thinking of walking it that first bit is the main slog as you go up then it levels out as it follows the route of the aqueduct. Those goats are so friendly. One decided to start licking my leg while I was resting😂

It was sooooooo amazing!! No definitely not and I did have to hug the sides a few times and really watch my footing, oh and not look down crossing the bridges 😂 but it was so cool and so different from anything we’ve done yet - the Ordesa Valley walk we did last year was a bit dodgy in places but this was something else! It was a good campsite, just a little pricey but those showers, honestly I could have stayed under it for hours 😂 Thanks for watching - Amanda & Mark 😍 x

@@AdventureswithAmandaandMark not a lot. We have been to Holland, Denmark, then went to England (where I was born) and Scotland ( where hubby was born). We both were brought to NZ as children in the 60's. Would love once we sell our motorhome to do more overseas travel. We are currently doing as much travel in NZ as we want so we can sell it for overseas travel money 😄. Australia is fabulous, we love Aussie. Sydney is my favorite. We own a Mobilvetta K-yacht 80 which we love.

@@mucows Sounds like you have some amazing adventures planned for the future. I’m guessing its different as children to move to a new country - we would like to move to Spain one day and keep looking at houses but need a lot more time over there to find the place that is right for us as we keep seeing so much we like 😂 We haven’t been to New Zealand, Australia or Denmark before but will be stopping at the latter on a cruise next year. As you can tell we love having adventures with Indie our motorhome, completely changed the way we feel about travelling the world 🌎

@@leannearnold8326 🤣 You have a lot more experience than us then as we’re only just over two years although we did the odd bit of camping with our kids when they were younger and have done the odd road trip or two using Eurocamps. Oh bless you, do they like going away with you? All of ours have grown up now although the youngest is still around and does come out with us occasionally. Do you mind if I ask if there is anything you would like to see from our Channel or any information etc we could provide in our vlogs?
