Alex, just remember that your great grandpa, Abrantes, immigrated legally to America from Portugal in 1923. He was just 17 years old. He became an American citizen. He loved America very much. His most prized possessions were his children and his American citizenship. He would be so proud of you, Simeon and his great great grandchildren. We here are so excited to see you all and give big hugs. Love, Grandma and Grandpa.

I grew up as a military brat and lived most of my childhood overseas in Europe. My favorite place was a small village in Germany. When I moved home to the US and sought to put down roots for my own children... I found a place that most reminded me of my favorite village in Germany. I've been here 24 years now. I've had enough money to move several times in those years and I choose to stay every time. I like Tennessee... but it's the VA side of the Mountains with it's rolling hills that most settle my soul. I hope you find a place that settles into your heart as well. God Bless.

I’ll just say my wife and I are very conservative. I’ll leave politics out but the most important thing I hear over and over is: God Wins! Get through 2023 and things will start getting better. Can’t wait until you all get here safely! My wife thinks you should have a separate channel for your ministry and I agree!

We are planning on sharing more and more about our faith and journey on this channel and the ministry will be part of that as it will be part of the farming and our lives. Running two different channels requires a lot of attention and work and KZread has made it really hard to start new channels. On x.com and Instagram we share more detailed about our heart, faith and ministry.

@@simeonandalex I just want to clarify that either way; on your current channel or a new channel, we welcome all things “Simeon & Alex” with open arms! With that said I know that there is a trend that many channels now have a second channel which features them sitting or walking and talking about events that have transpired with little to no editing. I’m not sure if it’s a just a second income or it helps the algorithms point out their original channel but it does benefit them. There’s a group of homesteaders in north west Arkansas that does this and their channels are really taking off. So that is the only reason I think you should do a separate channel that features weekly sermons. I feel it would really be popular as many of us don’t go to church but still crave the Lords guidance. Right now “hate” would be a good topic. Either way we’ll be anxiously awaiting your next video and we want nothing but the best for you and your family.

My ancestors came to the U.S. in 1865. They left Germany from the Dresden area, traveled to Liverpool, and caught a sailing ship crossing the Atlantic all the way to Galveston, Texas. They traveled another 150 miles from Galveston to central Texas where I live today. They left Germany because they were part of a sect of Germans called Wends. Their language was unique and the Germans wanted them to speak German and lose their Christian faith. They settled on a 200-acre farm and raised 8 children there. I live on part of that farm to this day. The funny thing is after moving here among many Germans, they lost their language. My parents, born and raised in Texas, spoke only German until they were 18 as did everyone. Everyone who knew my mother thought she was a German with her accent. I don't know what you will find in the U.S. to tell you the truth. Four years ago I would have been so optimistic for y'all. With our current Government, we've had extreme inflation. Prices have skyrocketed. I think that will be your biggest obstacle, prices. It is exciting, though I do not really understand why you are leaving and, in particular, why you left Sweden. Was it because the Swedish government was taking your land? As a P.S., my Daughter wants to move to Tennessee but, hopefully, she won't do that until I'm no longer around.

They were part of the Pioneer movement here and they left everything behind in Europe to make a successful life here. All farmers. We will all have to get back to the roots of living, I do Gardening and husbandry but not on a farm scale. When you see so many people leaving their homelands to come here even as bad as its gotten here it must be really bad everywhere else. Pray for all of you who have stayed true to God!

I'm back. My father's parents were born in Sweden in 1866. My grandfather went to sea as a lad and emerged as a ships carpenter by the age of 18. At that point he left the ship and became a carpenter and lamp lighter in Brooklyn, NY. In 1888, my grandparents married and, over the course of years, produced 8 children. All the males in the family were, of course, master carpenters. Born in the 1930s, I broke with tradition and became an aero-engineer. I lost my wonderful wife in 1999. About a decade later, my older daughter told me I was too old to live alone and should join with her family in TN. Currently live in Monroe County, TN. 181 Welch Rd, 37385. Give me a buzz when you get here.

Thanks for sharing your story and feelings with us! I know a lot of your story because I have been suscribed to your channel since you lived in Sweden. Simeon, I am also a German immigrant to the US. I was born in 1940 and my mother and I immigrated to the US in 1951. My sister met her future husband during the occupation and they started the papers for us to come as well. We crossed the ocean in a ship and landed in NY. Took a train from NY to California. Neither of us knew any English. Lived with family for a time, my mother got a job, I went to school and 1 year or so later she bought us our home. I know what it is like to leave everything you know behind and start a new life with only a suitcase in hand. I lived in CA for 50 years, got married, had 4 children and when they were grown, packed up again and moved to Tennesse. No regrets what-so-ever! God was always with me and I know He will be with you and your children as well. God will bless you mightily!

I pray for a church family for Simeon, Alex and children for them to land and thrive! I love you guys and your kids are so cute 😊. See you soon!

Welcome! Try not to be overly concerned, most people are good. Greetings from Oklahoma & if Tennessee doesn’t treat you right, just come on over to OK! ;) But TN will be good to you. It’s a beautiful state with nice people.

We moved to Missouri from Wisconsin, we really enjoy it here. One of the most "free" states. Make sure you're looking at the state laws and regulations for wherever you're considering.

My mother was from Germany and interestingly, her maiden name was Fuchs, so there could be some relation. She came from a small village, not too far from Frankfurt. She met my dad who was an American soldier, and I had to leave her whole family to come to the US. it was not easy to be far from her family her whole life. I learn many old ways from her family and from her, of course.. I pray you find your place of grounding here in the US and yes, things have changed here and all over the world. We do however know who is really in charge and that’s what we focus on.

We live in Tuscaloosa, Al. There is a German community here because there is a Mercedes Benz plant here. The Germans we met a few years back were not believers. I think Tennessee is a great idea.

There's lots of good hardwood trees in Tennessee. Maybe you can mill wood with someone, there's plenty of sawyers around.

I'm so excited for you. I hope to be able to visit your farm in TN one day when you're ready to have the public come visit. I am in NY. My next family vacation is going to include Polyface Farm. We don't go on a lot of trips as we are a large family and it can be expensive, but I want my kids to see religious people engaging with the land and taking control of their food in the process.

Well, how blessed we Americans will be to have your family among us. We as a culture have lost the old ways of faith, family and country. These trying times are calling us back to true priorities instead of shallow worldly values. If you’re not already aware, several vloggers in the homesteading movement are in Tennessee. Get in touch. They will be particularly supportive and welcoming. Many blessings to you!

How exciting!!! My husband's grandparents brought their 4 children from Germany to Canada in the mid-1950s. They initially wanted to go the US but their family member sponsor had a health crisis and could no longer sponsor them. They came to Canada through a farm worker sponsorship program. Oma hated it. It was very cold with lots of snow, and not speaking English was her biggest hurdle. She learned and eventually was a very proud Canadian citizen. I can't wait to see what adventures you all have as you find your Home. Best wishes for your next steps.

People emigrate when they think their effort will not be rewarded and their kids wil not thrive in the old country. They are so sure about this that the uncertainty in an unknown country seems less of a risk than staying in the old country. Its a very fundamental deep yearning for meaning. I wish you good courage and great new friendships. And know that you will bring the best of your Swedish culture to the best of your new American culture. ❤ (Holland to Canada 2001 best choice ever, despite of current events) This side of the ocean is more about freedom over security.

Interesting that you mentioned a lot of Germans immigrating to the US about 150 years ago. That is when the German side of my family came to the US. Looking up family ancestry, it is interesting to see how many of those families have stayed in the same area (farming) for generations (born, raised, married, raised their families, and died). That is Southern Indiana. My husband and I moved to Tennessee/Alabama about 17-18 years ago and we love the area. Still working on putting down roots, but I think they are finally starting to take hold! I think the South is a very welcoming region and many are open alternative ways of doing things, in my opinion. Safe travels to you all!

My Swedish and German ancestors moved in late 1880s because of food shortage. I’m 76 and there has been worse times then now. I’m amazed we got through 2 years of shutdown. I’m a half full person and feel blessed here in the USA. I moved from Chicago to central illinois and it was a culture shock. You will find like minded people and settle in after awhile. You never agree totally anywhere. We love woods gardening and animals. Now they are in the form of dogs.

I have long looked to the USA as a country I would like to move to some day. Developments in the last 15 years in how USA society has changed, from both sides of the political spectrum have reversed that to the point that I am now extremely happy I never went there. I still hope you will find what you are looking for. I wish you and your family the best and look forward to following your adventures
