@@GeneralLee2000 When adding F-16AJ Gaijin said that F-15 is too advanced for now and "wouldn't come to the game in the next few major updates", so I think it's pretty much confirmed it's not gonna be here this year.

Not just sustained dogfight, s sustained BVR. Both the 29 and the 14A seem to lose speed above Mach quite easily. That speed is essential for providing good launch parameters. With this jet you can now maneuver and continue to maintain speed an altitude throughout the fight. That’s the most important thing to me IMO. The Phoenix C will also have better acceleration and thrust thanks to the mk60 motor, which means better low altitude and close range performance.

The F-14B was not the last production variant of the Tomcat There was the F-14D Super Tomcat From the Wikipedia page on the F-14 "The final variant of the F-14 was the F-14D Super Tomcat, first delivered in 1991. As with the F-14B, the F-14D was equipped with the F110-GE-400 engines. I should have specified, this variant of the F-14B specifically entered service after the F-14D. The FLIR was equipped in 1998, which is what we have ingame. I wasn't aware of the ROVER III upgrade from 2005

@@GeneralLee2000 all ROVER III was, was a gyro stabilized high res high zoom camera to be downlinked to a laptop used by a Forward Air Controller

Its a shame that they absolutely wrecked the above-mach thrust on this thing, used to be able to handily do 1.3 on the deck and would go until it rips now ive heard it cant even go past 1.15 on the deck. Also ironic that you said those engines have much better acceleration above mach because they absolutely used to but gaijin has to ruin the fun as usual.

F110 engines losing thrust over the older TF-30s at mach is accurate though. F-14A boasted the highest top speed any Tomcat could go. Where it suck is that it seems like they fucked with the thrust curves so it doesn't feel like much of an upgrade anymore

Seeing that Gaijin basically announced medium range missiles coming this year, I think that F-15 will come as a later variant equipedd with AMRAAM together with Su-35 and its R-77 and propably counterparts for other major nations.

I dont understand how this guy can fly at 10000 meters and not get locked on by a single enemy, when i go up to 2000 i already get pinged from 15 directions. Otherwise very good vid and nice content as expected from Lee ^^

dev server, bots don't have the ability to not crash into mountains near the AF, much less lock someone with radar and kill them.

I turn around and dive and chaff and the 54A’s still hit me from time to time

I have been waiting for the F14B for so long it get’s the radar gun sight thing i will give you a like if you kill walvis but I will still give you a like because you make some of the best war thunder video’s

The MiG-29A never used R-77’s I’m pretty sure the first version of it to was the MiG-29S which is a significantly upgraded A (9.13) model which allowed for better Air to Air abilities with ARH R-27EA’s and R-77’s with an improved radar and I think even TV guided bombs and missiles

Just hope that other nations get comparable things

I still can’t seem to fully understand radar because sometimes an enemy will pop up and sometimes I can be maybe 1 to 2km away and they won’t show up. Even if they’re above me. I’m not sure

Honestly dude they might as well bring the F-15C and the SU-27S at this point. All the other aircraft are already just as good if not better armed than the F-15A is.

They are gonna gimp the fuck out of the f15. Also they need to add 9M with R73.

I have the feeling that they are waiting to release the f15 with aim 120s. Therefore the released the f14B first

Lee, the F-15A could carry four 7f and four 9l, and no flares. It would be a worse F-4EJ Kai so there isnt really a point until its time to add the F-15C

Ok idk where my other comment went maybe my internet gave up but anyway, mirage 2000 is going to be even more fun now with its kow missile count and terrible guns and before anyone says the 4 missiles are good well yeah the super 530D's are good BUT the radar is way too easy to notch and thanks to the seeker changes the magic 2s flare resistance is incredibly inconsistent which isn't its main issue the main issue is for magic 2 gaijin copy pasted magic 1 with all aspect but this isn't how magic 2 was irl, it should have increased range (20km max) 50g overload and better flare resistance, as for the aircraft itself the radar should be not be limited to TWS HDN and PD HDN it should have them both as all aspect not just head-on that Thompson radar was by no means bad, and then we have the acceleration and climb rate well the mirage 2000 empty weighs 7.5 tonnes and has 9600kgf of thrust this gives it a thrust to weight ratio (when completely empty) of 1.28 and in irl a climbrate of 304m/s or 60000ft/min you can go check the climbrate its on dassault aviation's website and if they're going to get an aircraft that wrong i want to know the midset anyway im an incredibly passionate French main and i want my vehicles fixed i would go to the forum for mirage 2000 but people have already tried and its like talking to a brick wall, also they could've given us mica IR this patch as it would essentially a more manoeuvreable r27T with more range and better IRCCM plus we would get 6 on 2000-5F which is just a small upgrade over 4 when everyone else gets either 6 or 8 missiles I'm not even bothered about mica ER as that would be op as shit rn I just think it's about time France could get something better than 2ir aams and 2 radar aams especially when the aircraft being added could carry 6 missiles and they haven't given a reason for not adding it unless I didn't read the devblog right nvm there isn't one yet

Really hate the take that the Phoenix is bad because its easy to dodge by "hard turning" or "turning around and chaffing" if you have to do this multiple times you're dropping tons of speed and going on the defensive. Even when it misses it still wins by forcing a bad position. Launch it FnF, follow up with other armament.

theyre probably trying not to add completely new planes because modern 5th gen planes are too classified to be realistic in game, leading to classified info leaks. Also they might run out of modern planes if they add them faster than new ones are created irl

Got my first 11.0 a while back definetly see these tomcats alot kinda annoying in my opinion, maybe cuz i dont have one :)

Ehhh the Yak-141 is very situational on a 1v1 with thrust vectoring yeah no shit it wins but in any normal situation where you couldn’t thrust vector the Yak is gonna bleed all of its speed, the F-14A is my second most played vehicle and it can already beta the MiG-29 if you manage your energy well enough. The B will be able to do that way better and with the 141 bleeding all of its speed the B would probably be able to take advantage of that and maybe force a rate fight if it’s a 1 v1

i feel bad for anyone that thinks this thing is gonna win any fights that an A wouldnt

The f4e is not in the top tier br in sim anymore. Get yourself a $70 thrustmaster hotas controller and start playing sim. You'll never have to fight a f14 f16 or mig29 ever again. It's awesome

This variant of the F-14B (with the FLIR pod) entered service after the F-14D, so yesn't. The F-14D never got its radar upgrade for the AMRAAMs AFAIK, and they have the same flight performance But I see where you're coming from.

Both are competitive in a dogfight against each other and the F-14 gets more sparrows, I didn't say lacking, just that arguably the F-14B is more effective than the F-15A (I would hope so since it entered service later)

6 aim 7ms that hit 35% of the time before the radar or missle decides to fly off into the sunset Vs 2 R27er1s that hit 95% of the time doesn’t seem like an advantage to me XD. And the aim7ms have been performing worse than the Fs atm altho maybe its just the F16s radar and not the missile. Im just happy the thing is getting 9Ls

There is a version of the AIM-7M (the MH) that did loft, but obviously we don't have that. The normal 7M does not loft. The Normal 7M is also better than the MH in basically every scenario though, except super long range shots on bombers that can't turn. So it doesn't matter anyway, it wouldn't be an improvement, no reason to get it.

the MH would be better, because its autopilot actually decides if it should loft or not based on range, it also uses more efficient navigation so you gain range on the high end and a better navigation across all ranges.
