This movie is so 2012 but so iconic 😂 I was in choir in high school and this movie was everything to us, I remember we took a field trip to see the 2nd movie in theaters!

you guys being surprised and excited by how great benji is at singing was adorable. when i first watched the movie and saw ben platt i went crazy cause that’s a broadway performer right there so i knew he’d eventually have his chance to shine, and that performance wasn’t even all that when it comes to what he can do vocally

It's not a musical. It's a movie with music. Massive difference. A musical uses music to replace dialogue that reveals story and furthers the plot.

The technical definition of musical is "a performance that involves music, singing, and sometimes dancing as integral to the plot". So this movie is technically a musical

I've seen this movie at least 20 times. It honestly never ever gets old. So excited to watch you guys react to it

Great reaction guys! They went all out casting legit singers for this movie, so it was funny seeing your surprise that everyone was actually really good. Notably, the actors who play Jesse and Benji are Broadway performers, so definitely top tier talent.

Even though Aubrey is kind of unbearable, I always felt for her. She feels responsible for ruining their chances the year before and has huge shoes to fill (not to mention some clear daddy issues) and now some girl who has shown open contempt for a thing that you care a lot about is telling you that you suck at your job. I would probably not have been chill either.

The lady commentating at the competitions is Elizabeth Banks , she produced the movie too. The actress who plays Jessica (one of the "who are they" girls) is Kelly Jackle, singer/songwriter . They put her in the back to give tips and to harmonize with the main characters.

this movie gives me so many memories. I watched it at my best friend's house on a laptop in like 2012 or 2013, pausing it whenever her parents came by bc it was such a big deal for us. It was the first "mature" film I ever saw without parent permission. We were 12 and *such* rebels.

Loved all the dancing and singing guys! Zuff getting the lyrics wrong while the subtitles were on, had me dying! Mans just going on pure vibezzz

The treblemakers final performance is my favorite from this movie too. I love Ben Platt as an actor/singer and I love his character, Benji, too. He is sooooo talented. One of the best singers of our generation imo. He became an even better singer after this movie because he went on broadway. So i just absolutely love his preformance in this movie. It launched his career to a new level.

Bryce's face when Aubrey was puking at 44:31 was hilarious! I really loved this movie when it came out, didn't care for the sequel though

pitch perfect holds a special place in my heart whenever i need to laugh or smile i watch it, it's so comedic

As someone who has been in a few school acapella groups, I love participating in riff-offs. The way we would do them is we would split into 2 teams and we would go against each other. It would start off sort of like Encore, which is the Song Association Game in a team, but we'd do it like a riff-off after the run with the word we were given. It's so much fun!

i heard the artists of the music that came out in 2012 sent the music to the creators of the movies before release so that the movie would come out with current (at the time) hits on the soundtrack - bc they started filming the movie prior to the songs coming out

Fun fact: Freddie Stroma, the actor who plays Luke (the Radio DJ guy), also plays Prince Friedrich in Bridgerton Season 1. This reaction made me laugh SO much! Can't wait for the rest of Movie Week!

So nostalgic for me. This was kinda my first movie that I watched with more “adult” humor and content that I wouldn’t have gotten if I was a little bit younger when it came out. I don’t think this will ever get old.

Woah, do I feel old. This came out when I was in the middle of my Master's program. It's my second favorite movie of all time. It's such a high and I love seeing others get that feeling of watching it for the first time. This is the third reaction I watch. So many actors from this movie got their careers catapulted from it. Anna said in an interview she saw someone do the cup thing and she thought it was cool, so she learned it and they used it in the movie because, I believe, she used it during her audition.

Did you guys notice; the guy working in the campus record store was the prince from Bridgerton season 1.
