Some people (and the usual haters from rival fandoms) who don't know about the show and never watched it, are going to come and talk about how they don't like how "mean" and "rude" she is. Pure nonsense. First of all, this is a compilation of moments when the group she was mentoring and helping to polish their group performance was messing up so badly that she had to speak very bluntly to get their attention and get them to correct the problems quickly. She never yelled and she never spoke in anger. She usually was very friendly and full of praise whenever the groups were doing well and making good progress. (Those clips are not shown here.) Secondly, this is not dancing for fun at the local recreation center. She's mentoring 109 contestants (broken into several groups) with very limited time to prepare for competitive group stages. They score points as a group and each individual in the group gets the group score as their individual score. Eventually, in later rounds, individuals start being eliminated from the show based on their cumulative scores and voting by a panel of producers as well as the viewing audience. Lisa has to point out individual errors in front of the group, so that the group can then work on solving the problems together while preparing for their stages.

NOT TO MENTION this was is a VERY COMPETETIVE show so ALL OF THEM needed to be on their A game and ofc Lisa got hate for it even though the country RESPECTED her more AFTER the show for being a true mentor BUT when Lisa changed from the 'rudeness' in the boy season they said she was being "TOO NICE" like bruh they always pick and choose when it comes to Lisa.....

Youth With You is a Chinese show She's a dance mentor for season 2 and 3 She's speaking in English and Thai, never in Korean, (there's a conflict between Korea and China) China kinda ban Koreans in their country The winners of this show debuted , they are called "THE NINE" 7 out of 9 members are from LISA'S TEAM

It's a Chinese show but she speaks in both Thai and English, depending on whichever is easier for her to communicate her thoughts in :) Edit: She also has translators on the side so that's why she's speaking to them in Thai/English

@@melisadetter1078 there are some political conflict going on between China and South Korea. Another reason is Chinese government try to control and reduce an influence of kpop over society and entertainment industry in their country. 😕 Kpop boy band and girl group can't perform there except the company send foreign idols, for example Lisa or TEN (NCT+wayV) who is Thai or if the idol are Chinese like WayV even they're normally live in South Korea then it is fine.

Hey guys, I can explain why you heard multiple languages used in this video, it's actually quite interesting. Lisa was chosen as a mentor for a Chinese reality show. Because China is currently not on good terms with S. Korea they do not allow the Korean language to be spoken on television. Before the show, Lisa had learned a working knowledge of Mandarin (Chinese), but in order to get her thoughts out quickly to the trainees she had to speak in Thai or English and there was a translator off-camera to translate into Chinese for the trainees. Kudos to the editor, it was cut so smoothly you can't tell.

Interesting reactions. I kept laughing at your jaw drops. Lisa was invited at the chinese 'Youth with you’ show in China where she was the dance coach. It’s like a chinese copycat of kpop training camp where aspiring girls battle it out for the final formation of a new girl group. Lisa seemed tough, but she was very professional about it. In an interview, she mentioned that she is nothing as compared to her Korean dance coach. This was my first intro to Blackpink. It was through this show that I got interested in Blackpink. I was very intrigued by Lisa’s professionalism and charm. You really have to watch the entire episodes to understand how it worked. Lisa really shine in this show, her real personality really came through. She didn’t hide anything. Just being herself. You will not just see the toughness of her, she has so much charm and cuteness in the other episodes. There was also a dance performance by her, can’t miss that. The chinese girls were blown away by what Lisa can do on stage. It’s as if they saw a Goddness. Their eyes, their mouths opened wide throughout the entire performance. Many cried. Lisa is like mother to all of them. They loved her so much. The final 9 who got through and became the new girl group still keep in touch with Lisa till this day.

Good reaction. This is a very popular Chinese TV show, and this made Lisa immensely popular in China. Chinese look up to strong bad-ass mentors and leaders that don't accept mediocrity. Their life is tough and in the Chinese culture there is no place for weakness and is similar to Lisa's attitude here, work hard to succeed or get out of the way. Lisa has commented that she thought she was being very soft on the trainees as compared to how her Korean coaches treated her and fellow trainees during her 5-year Trainee Program at YG. That should tell you what she and the other members of Blackpink had to go through.

That's how she's been trained since she was 13 years old. That's why she talk just like how her dance teacher talked to her. She taught them just like how she's been taught. And all her experience she tried to passed it on to them to do the same thing to make the most out of it. And of course Lisa is perfectionist so little detail she will see them all and she expected them to do the best they can as they've got the opportunity in their hand, they need to do their best.

Yeah, I saw Jennie giving advice to BabyMonster. She was incredibly respectful and offered top-notch guidance. Lisa didn’t need to be so harsh, unless she was aiming for higher TV ratings. The trainees were probably already super nervous. Being a trainee at YG must be challenging, but you can't attribute everything to how she was taught to treat these trainees.

This is a survival project of trainee in China "Youth With You " They needed 9 trainees out of the hundreds for pro Chinese idol. Lisa is a dance mentor 2 seasons (this is season 1). She used a strict method of training and recruiting trainees for a limited time.Lisa gave these trainees alternating bitters and sweets. They both love and respect mentor Lisa so much. I really like Lisa's role as a mentor. The trainees who were selected for this project are very talented. They love Lisa and often cover her dance choreo.

The show is Chinese but Lisa speaks mostly Thai and English, and some Chinese. The Thai gets translated in interviews. A lot of people were calling her mean after watching this but every single one of those clips were taken out of context and there was a reason why she responded in such a strict degree. Besides the main context of each person the show itself is a cutthroat survival show. Whoever is left at the end gets to be in a Chinese idol group. And those ppl are usually really popular. So Lisa had to train them exactly how she got trained in the industry (she said this in the show). Lisa was also not nearly as strict as any of her other mentors (as said by her). Another thing, Lisa was also very very kind to the girls. She would give them advice, talk to them, give them hugs, laugh with them, give them gifts etc. none of this was shown here. Most people see these clips and didn’t watch the show and they assume she was strict all the time. She even cried when a girl debuted it was so sweet. Because of this You’ll see that Lisa is insanely popular in China. So much that you could ask a random person on the street for their favorite celebrity and they would say it’s her.

She put on the poker face during coaching sessions for the sake of the girls, she later explained. Because she wants the girls to make it, knowing it is a one shot take it or leave it personality. But at the official performances, she gives them the warmest smiles and biggest encouragements. There are other hilarious moments in the show with other coaches, especially the rapper trying to get a few girls to rap. In fact so funny it went viral and turned into memes. Lisa returned as a coach for the next season which are boys. It’s cute to see the difference~

Yes. The best mentors for anyone facing intense competition are the ones who don't let things slide and are very persistent in bluntly and clearly identifying mistakes and not letting their students get away with sloppiness...so much so that the student's find themselves so well prepared for the actual competition that they win the competition and feel like winning the competition was easier than pleasing their mentor.
