Those john blocks are only activated during the crumbling tower of pizza, that is the entrance to floor 1. Hope this helps!

Fun fact: Each of the secret rooms found in the hub room are actually references to scrapped content. Some can actually be found in some of the demos if I'm not mistaken.

The blocks literally lead to parts of the Crumbling Tower of Pizza, so that why those passageway are block off they are not apart of hub normally, so don't worry about them

The “unlock-able” blocks are for the pizza time you do after the final boss

The “Old Tower” room and the room with the car and trash can are secret rooms. I’m pretty sure there’s one on each of the hub world floors, and they display scrapped enemies and character designs.

Clown room is a reference to a circus level that was in the level "city" (which was later turned into pig city) and was the origin of the track "pizza pie-ing" (end song) and "clowninskysjxncofhdbdb"

I don't know why, but the pizza tower fandom likes to paint fake peppino as just a wholesome person. I've seen a lot of comics and fan art of him that's actually kinda cute i like it

If you're going for a P-rank, I'd recommend starting with WAR. Though it's the hardest level, it's also by far the easiest to P-rank, since everything is out in the open, so you don't risk losing your combo while trying to find the secret areas and tower treasure. Also, the timer isn't as much of an issue, since you're already rushing.

Well, The Crumbling Tower of Pizza is actually the easiest to P rank, due to the lack of secrets, treasure, and Lap 2, in order to get a P rank, all you have to do is get the score requirement of an S, and keep the combo through the whole level.

John Gutter and The Crumbling Tower and Fun Farm and Ancient Cheese and…

the highest judgement is "WOW!", 95% or more. P.S.: There's also "You're quick as hell!" for beating the game in under two hours, and there's a final one by doing both, 95%+ under four hours: "HOLY SHIT!"

Mort the Chicken is in the game, simply because the lead dev asked the person who owned the IP, and they said yes and loved the inclusion enough to allow it for free. The achievement Cube Menace is a reference to Mort the Chicken. The entire plot is something like "Cubes are invading and stealing our babies". Old Tower and the place with the car is primarily a place to hide unused content from other builds. The giant yellow yoshi looking thing with tiny wings thing in Old Tower was the boss (I think the first boss instead of Pepper Man?) of one of the demos. Fun fact too: There was a lot left on the table regarding Peppino's judgement. Originally it was once per save. Whatever you get, you're stuck with and trying again would lead to the game showing an ominous picture of Peppino with text saying "The judgement was final. Please try a new save file". Furthermore, some of the images for the results are might sound strange and that's because there were intended to be a judgement for doing specific things. The one you got with the "That's the one officer!" image I read was presumably for damaging Peppino a lot. But in the game proper, everything's just tied to how much you completed, with one exception being speedrunning the game.

8 months late but there is one called confused?, which is peppino asking if you think not killing enemies gives you points and a happy cheeseslime. I think its original purpose was obvious.

A few answers to your questions: Pillar John is Gerome's brother, not his dad. The John Blocks in the hub are for the final escape sequence.

The secret blocks were from the crumbling tower of pizza (the thing you did after defeating pizzaface) you came from there in the stage. Ps I reccomend when you try to get your first P rank try doing John gutter (Floor 1) or WAR (Floor 5) WAR seems hard because its on floor 5 but its not, merg (another pizza tower youtuber) got his first P rank/S rank in WAR

the reference the achievement "cube menace" is making is not only mort the chicken's game icon, but the lore of mort the chicken.

You know there are actually secrets that you need to find. I wont say where but ill give you three hints 1. It isnt in any level its in the main area 2. Big pictures on the walls 3. Hit walls alot And yes this is related to the secret you found in the final part of the tower and the old tower aswell

When the pizza tower crumbles, those blocks flip from on to off or vise versa. In any level, the blocks flip from on to off or vise versa in pizza time, so it is obvious that during the pizza time varient for the tower (the great crumbling of the pizza tower) they would flip.

So to unlock the John blocks, you need to go to the hallway before the final boss and enter the level there. You will literally just do the crumbling tower of pizza again. That’s what the blocks are for

To get 100% or even more than that, you have to get all of the Chef Tasks. They act as achievements during this game. And let me just say, some of them are brutal. Good Luck.

Cheft Tasks are only required for 101%, you would also need all the P Ranks as well to get the extra one percent.

So basically, the story is that the final boss Pizzahead is a trickster demigod who is messing with Peppino for fun. Pillar John and Gerome are brothers and Pizzahead put a curse on John that split him into the pillars you destroy in every level, also the pillars are being used to keep the level gates open.

Game : "get punched by GRANDPA pepper" Mike : grandMA

So the lore is Gerome and John were best friends until Pizzaface cursed John to become a pillar for the tower and he made Gerome the janitor, buy getting all the treasures you’re undoing the curse done to John.

By the way the level that you found right there was actually the crumbling tower of pizza which is the last level in the game so you don't have to Beat the boss over again(So that means that you could have just entered it to get the true ending)

9 months late but the door activates a different version of the stage without the characters to save, and you get a rank screen instead of the ending when using TCTOP’s level door.

Fun fact the dragon in the background was actually used for a demo of pizza tower The sausage and the cheese we're an old enemy in the game and the other stuff or just old animations

The blocks that you couldnt get past are blocks that only activate during Pizza Time. After beating Pizzaface you have to escape the tower and the john blocks activate.

The purple blocks only change once you get the pizza time remember in actual levels when you were going through the tower as it was crumbling noticed how the overworld changed routes to its normal positions it was because you were on a pizza time

Those blocks are the escape route, they swap upon destroying pillar john thus forming a path back out of the level, the real secrets are much more hidden, one I remember a lil is on floor 4, dash straight through one of the fan and make sure you're near the ground, these secrets don't hold any secret hub item, no they're just extra rooms that hold something silly.

Pizza tower lore: basically pizza head (or pizza face) opens the pizza tower: an amazing place with mascots and attractions, but that makes peppino go into debt but peppino makes better pizza, so the pizza tower isn’t what it seems, it’s actually a factory where they mass produce pizza and they lock people (and pizza creatures) inside and force them to be mascots or make pizza, so when pizza face found peppino he threatened peppino to blow up his restaurant and so peppino would chase after pizza face so pizza face could lock him in and steal his recipe, his business, and his expertise and he would have the best restaurant, but peppino wouldn’t go down easy, so they started with robots (the robot peppino’s) then they moved on to clones (fake peppino boss, and the war level clones,) but pizza face didn’t think peppino would face him, and when pizza face lost his true form revealed, the manager of pizza tower inc. pizza head, he was responsible which drove peppino mad and in a last effort pizza head got all the mascots locked in the tower, pepper man, the vigilante, the noise, and fake peppino, for an all out brawl, but peppino came on top and ended this cursed establishment.
