That cannon could shoot halfway to Gordons Bay. And at the other side, close to the Steenbras river mouth, their was another battery. I think none of these cannons sank any ships, as none made it into the bay during wartime.

I saw the vlog quite late.... Sorry people, but you can get mugged anywhere in the world. My friend was mugged in New York in a restaurant, another colleague in Barcelona and another friend in Majorca. .....just to name a few, as this can happen anywhere in the world. You just have to be vigilant, wherever you go.

We were riding the cape cycle challenge about 2 years ago in the heat an rode past to a baboon that was refueling with an glucose energy gel

Got robbed twice in Pretoria, once while 19 cops nearby paid no attention, in 1992. Before 🇿🇦. Were they in on the deal? Got robbed in Matroosfontein by a very nervous gunman. Where I live in Cape Town, we go to swim even after 9pm and walk outside even during loadshedding BUT my wife was robbed of our 6 day old superzoom Canon in Cape Town CBD. I am disabled and could never replace it. 😡😡😡😡😡

As a tourist, who is currently in SA, I came on YT to get some sightseeing tips. Your title is incredibly insensitive and insulting. The very fact that you could think of it AND then still post it, speak more of your characters than any content you produce. If you can, travel and learn for yourself people.

Please tell me you were joking when you said they had to like 2000 candles. Candle power is a unit for measuring light strength. They weren’t actual candles. It was one light that had the strength of 2000 candles. Hence the expression 2000 candlepower.

bad title, I was concerned, and youbguysbdid not get mugged...

My son once was confronted by a huge male baboon in his house in the South Peninsula. He had to protect his three huge dogs, as a baboon loves to rip out the intestine. Baboons here are over protected and have no natural enemies. Time to reintroduce leopards and a few pythons.

My late father used to man those cannons during the 1940's.

If that isthe lighthouseat Cape point , there should have been a plaque giving its age. And the engineer that designed it , Alexander Douglas Gordon , my great grandfather , several times removed :-)

I know this is old but please get your facts correct . The term Cape of Good Hope is what the Cape was called and you went to Cape Point and the signs tell you the area not a spot . By saying you were mugged gives Cape Town a bad name .

Wait till you meet the robbers at Vic falls. I got mugged twice first at Cape point that bugger almost broke my camera and took my NikNaks and then earlier this year again in Mosi a tunya Zambia and that one took my wine gums. But i caught him on camera and the case is still being investigated😂.

Imaging being the guy that has to clean up the wax from 2000 candles every morning so they can be lit at night, their arms must have been so sore. I see baboons I make a u-turn. I'm more terrified of baboons than I am of lions, baboons are fearless when it comes to humans compared to other primates or wildlife.

Those guns never fired at a single ship. As South Africans your knowledge of history seems somewhat lacking. “Probably sunk a lot of ships” the woman says. There are plenty of wrecks but not from guns. Take a day off now and then and catch up.
