A marriage is more important than a wedding. It's better to spend more on your marriage than a wedding because a wedding is a one day event but marriage is for life.

@@torlokollie5045 well, I was majorly addressing those who do weddings beyond their pockets. I did not say people should not do loud weddings. If they can comfortably afford it, why not?! My point is that, Maya could have been able to afford a very expensive wedding if he wanted to do that, but he chose to do something simple! How much more young couples who are struggling to make ends meet?! People go as far as borrowing millions just to please people on their wedding days! This video is just a clear message that it is the love and joy you share that matters and not the flamboyance!

You make a good point. One of the reasons most couples have lavish ceremonies is due to the family pressures as well. Some family members think too highly of themselves to see one of theirs marry in a simple event.

My prayer is answered and I thank God for that wedding.
