As I was waking up from my first upper and lower endoscopy, I started babbling about Paleocastor, an ancient beaver relative. I do think they're very cool (they made giant spiral burrows called Daemonelixes, which means "the Devil's corkscrew!) but apparently I felt that the doc and anesthesiologist needed to know. 😂

I think they were probably busy on the toilet most of that day and maybe irritated with not being able to eat solid foods/certain liquids. I wasn't the nicest person for that day to talk to, so I'm assuming they were either sleeping as much as possible or trying to avoid a camera. 😅

Thank you guys! This was very informative + fun to watch without any irony. Also this makes awareness to get colonoscopies and it really makes it look it's easy and the procedure is pain free!

as someone with GERD I frequently get colonoscopy + endoscopy procedures done, and in australia drs use twilight anesthesia for these procedures so patients are conscious but sedated. As a patient you feel unconscious and don't remember but you are talking and technically awake during (lightly restrained if you tend to move in your sleep)
