Josh look for the trees that have lighter green leaves and pink flowers on them. They’re in forest areas and if you dig below it and follow the dirt trail all the way down, you’ll find the lush caves. That’s where you can get the axolotl. Plus they look fucking insane when you see the caves. But endermen down there. That will be a dope episode when you find that.

Josh, you can make a beehive in the crafting table. It needs 6 planks and 3 honeycomb. Top row is 3 planks, middle row is 3 honeycomb, and last row is 3 planks Once it's made, you can place it near your base and lure bees to it. Find bees in the world and hold a flower in your hand so that they follow you to the beehive you made

Here are some tasks for you Josh, if you are willing that is; 1. It'll make much more sense if you were to make yourself a storage area, focusing on building and expanding your base and/or living area, organizing your storage and smelting area which then relates back to your idea of having sea-facing glass basement. A bit of a building montage in and around your island wouldn't hurt. Having an organized system of storage would declutter your mind of a few things as well, you don't really need a fancy redstone system to organize your storage, just a room full of chests and barrels to prioritize your inventory would do. 2. Nametags are useful if you know how to use them. You would need one and put it in an anvil first and then rename the nametag to whatever names you'd desire. Obviously, nametags can help you stop a mob or an entity like villagers, animals, and so on from despawning in your world if you right-click with it. Say if you were to find a zombie villager, you can name them and trap them somewhere so they wouldn't despawn but you would need a boat if you want to transport them elsewhere. In my opinion, it would be easier if you lure them as a zombie and then trap them rather than doing it vice versa. 3. If you want animals to spawn on your island you would first need to make a grass area from them to spawn. There tons and tons of dirt in cave systems you can collect if you need a plethora of them, you don't need to destroy the landscapes of your island if you don't want to. Having those dirt block turned into grass would then grant you more chances of having passive mobs to spawn (only during daytime for some reason). With that said, create an area large enough near your island with dirt blocks and having a singular grass block to have the grass to spread with time, if you don't have any just connect the grass from island to said area that you'd build. 4. Enchantments can be tedious and quite annoying at times but they can be beneficial for your adventure and especially during mining; - On your Sword, you'd want Sharpness(1-5 levels), it multiplies the overall damage of the sword. Bane of Arthopods(1-5 levels) is useless and only increase damage against spiders. Smite(1-5 levels) is somewhat useful if you want a separate sword that deals with undead mobs like Skeletons, Zombies, Zombie Piglins and etc. Unbreaking(1-3 levels) as well would be nice to have. Knockback(1-2 levels) just does throws your enemies further. Fire Aspect(1-2 levels) add fire damage to enemies, wouldn't recommend if you're travelling to the Nether. - On your Tools, you'd want Efficiency(1-5 levels), Unbreaking, Silk Touch (on a separate one), and Fortune(1-3 levels). This does applies to your other tools as well like your Axe and Shovel. Having Efficiency on your tools will tremendously increase the speed of your mining. Side note, you can also add Sharpness on your Axe because the Axe does 50% more damage than your sword but it has a slower cooldown rate. - Mending is a beautiful thing to have for a lot of reasons. Although getting a Mending book is whole different task. You'd first need a Librarian Villager which you'd also need a lectern to have a villager acquiring a job. On the other hand you can do some fishing will take too long of your time to actually fishing and getting an enchanted book and the chances of getting it is low. There you have it, that's all I can give at the moment. Took me the entire duration of your video playing whilst I'm writing this lmao...

Josh, when collecting torches just make a stack and shift it to your left hand (as sometimes you had only 13 torches on your hand and 40 torches were taking an inventory slot. Just combine to make 53 torches and hold it in the left hand) that way you have an inventory slot still open for items. Just a simple observation. Love this series

u can make 4 pumpkin seeds with a pumpkin, name tags can only be found in mineshafts or dungeons mainly. so definitely more valuable. rename name tags in an anvil. as a start make a 9x9x8 room for each spawner (they will overlap which is ok). that’s 4 blocks each direction horizontally from the spawner, 3 blocks up and 4 blocks down from the spawner. this is a pretty rudimentary explanation so u should probably watch a tutorial, but the idea is the mobs r pushed with water into a singular killing chamber. if u don’t want to use fuel for cooking ur fish u can just put them on the campfire, it’s infinite. but it’s not a big deal. if you see a tree with oak wood and strange flowery leaves, that signifies a lush cave below (big green cave). if u want to spawn land passive mobs, id suggest sitting in the corner of the border, turning ur render distance down enough to not reach the ocean (nothing can spawn outside of it). Edit: if ur scared of losing ur stuff in the nether to lava, netherite items don’t burn, and since ur in 1.18 they r much easier to make. u had pretty standard luck finding ur ancient debris, it would take literally 5-10 minutes to find 7 more to make ur sword and pick axe netherite

You should use shears when you’re taking down trees, it’s much quicker to get rid of the leaves and you could reuse them for decoration

Regarding mob spawns yes there is a cap since you live on an island fish spawn around and max the cap so you need to be far from water on land basically the mob cap is: Hostile 70 Passive 10 ambients/bats 15 water/squid 5 caves spawn mobs since you are in the same chunk and if the caves are not lit they will spawn and max the cap same with water you are on an island surrounded by water so fish spawn infinitely and that's why no other creatures spawn sadly you can't kill them all they will just respawn so the best way for animals will be expand border and run around on an island that is farthest from water

My man actually did some achievements and didn’t record them Anyway here is your daily updated dose of achievements and tips #11: Some achievements for you to complete. I’m now ranking them from the easiest to hardest: --You can make a compass on a loadstone achievement. Loadstone is crafted with a netherite ingot and chiseled stone bricks (they are crafted from stone). And compass is just iron and redstone. --Don’t forget about moving a beehive with silk touch. There are three bees in total in a beehive so you should make sure that all of them are inside it. -- WHERE ARE ANIMALS. You are in a dead world. And also there should be wolves in a forest biome too. --You can do a free fall. It’s up 320 and down -64. Just make a water pit big enough) --And you can do a fantom piercing. Now you now how --with pandered snow realistically you should either get very lucky or afk for some time (And it can take a long time so I suggest to put several cauldrons next to each other as it fills randomly so it can fill one and not fill the one next to it)(there are also three levels of filling and you need max level). Or you can find it naturally. Powdered snow can spawn in mountain groves and snowy slopes biome --For an axolotl achievement you should find a Lush caves biome. Lush caves are caves with orange berries. Lush caves generate underground at any altitude . They favor generating underneath biomes with high humidity values, which makes them most commonly found beneath dark forests (I think you have one but I’m not sure), jungles, old growth taigas (maybe you also have one), wooded badlands and sometimes, windswept forests (maybe also yours). Dark forests, old growth taigas and bamboo jungles, in particular, are almost guaranteed to have lush caves generate below them --you can make a zombie villager achievement if you find another igloo (and you missed one) Some easy nether achievements: --you can do a strider achievement. Just get off a strider when you are not on the lava --To travel 7000 m in the overworld you need to travel 7000/8=875 blocks in the nether and put another portal there. The problem with that is that I think your overworld’s boarder isn’t big enough. That’s why you were teleported so strangely. I think you have traveled 875 blocks in the nether but in overworld it was behind the boarder so when you had teleported you were near the boarder but when you had teleported back to the nether you were not so far from your original “home” portal. So now I think you can’t really do it now cause 7000 m is probably way more than your current overworld boarder. (Btw you can measure it by coordinates) --There is a difficult achievement (but doable) to ride a strider in the overworld. So you have to ride a strider through portal. But they die without lava. So you should build a portal right next to it. --technically you can mine to make a full suit of netherite armour. It’s only takes 16 ancient debris 16 golden ingots and full diamond armour)) Tips: --you have missed an igloo in Episode #13 10:53 (thanks to SeismicRhino). But I believe it is in a ravine so I don’t think that there is a basement underneath. But you should check it! --The best technique to mine ancient debris is to go along the boarder of a chunk and blow blocks with beds or tnt. --If you need to heal you should eat till you are full. You will heal faster. --water is useless in the nether. Powdered snow isn’t)) --piglin brute transforms into zombified piglin in the overworld. If you want a mob to not despawn you can either put it in a boat or put a name tag on it. --to protect yourself from an enderman just dig a two block high tunnel in the nearest wall. --you should definitely take fire resistance positions when you will go to find a fortress. With all my respect I don’t think you will survive a blaze. --to name something you should put a name tag in an anvil first. --there are hoglins in the nether (basically boars). They are a great source of leather and meat. But they are quite strong. you should build a three block tower and kill them from there. Hope this helps!!!!❤

You can put a boat and a chest into the crafting table and make a boat chest. Then when you go adventuring you double your inventory

Its difficult to watch josh make compromises with all the loot while leaving the one dirt block in his inventory

You can make a beehive with planks and honeycomb and use a lead to get bees to the new hive on your island

tips: first of all don't worry about the small mistakes I know you like to overthink but don't worry we also made these mistakes when we started the game but learned just like you are doing so keep it up you will be pro soon :D --use logs to cook stuff you don't need to make charcoal --to name something put nametag in anvil and write the name then click on bruce --iron golem can die from mobs it will have cracks on him but you can heal him with iron ingots so he doesn't die --always have fire res in nether it works for fire and lava so if you ever fall don't panik and drink lol --make a honey bottle and drink it counts towards the food achievement --for a lush cave you could try finding a oak tree that has purple petals on it (basically on leaves there will be purple dots) then dig down and you will see it or you need to be lucky somewhere in a cave away from home the cave has moss everywhere and vinesso easy to spot --you could shear a pumpkin and then put it on your head then enderman won't attack or just put them in a boat or dig in a tunnel then can't fit they are 3 blocks high --for the portal one go to the corner in overworld and build a portal then go to nether and try to go to the opposite corner and build a portal then you should appear in the overworld in an opposite corner of where you started and hopefully it's enough blocks --don't destroy the stem on a growing pumpkin just break pumpkin and it will grow back --try to make a staircase down to lava so you can access striders and then ride one home for another achievement --if you want to save the bees from ocean and bring back home you can use a lead if there not there don't worry you have many bee hive and can use leads to lead them to other bee hives and max them out --to kill a ghast in overworld try building a big portal could be 9 by 9 so it fits and use a fishing rod to get it in the portal or try getting it in a boat or a minecart it will be super hard though so no rush --for phantoms try making a roof above your head like 2 by 2 roof of dirt or anything then place a boat and stand bellow then when they attack they might get stuck then just stand near and try to pierce both with a crossbow

Josh concentrate on making farms like gunpowder, xp,etc. Also use fortune or silktouch to get more diamonds instead of 1. As u don't have villagers, try to get those enchantments from enchanting table by wasting enchantments on iron or wood tools, or break shelf( u need silk touch else u get 3 books). Also water doesn't get placed in nether😂. Use beds to mine ancient debris, u can get a lot of beds from spider farm

You can use a name tag on an anvil to choose the name also make sure u pick up all the name tags in the mineshafts they’re rare and u will need them later on. U also can’t craft name tags or saddles

that white small animal that you keep seeing is a fox you can tame the fox as well

make charcoal by smelting a wood block and then make torches with a stick and charcoal

You can make blocks of the resources(iron, lapis,coal, redstone etc) u have to save space in your inventory so u can carry more things, u can undo it later

Quick one, I’d make a water bucket just to carry with you when caving etc. never know when it can come up clutch when falling or lava appearing or getting your way out of caves

Fortune is class for mining - say you find diamonds, if you have Fortune on your pick - you are likely to get more diamonds for eg when you mine a block, increases the drops from mining

The passive mob cap is separated into 4 sections, land mobs like cows, sheep etc. Then there's ambient mobs which are only bats currently Then there's water mobs like dolphins axolotls and squids, and finally fish are the water ambient mobs. So killing fish and squids won't increase your chances of passive land mobs spawning unfortunately..... not quite sure exactly why they aren't spawning tbh. Oh and feed the bees flowers to repopulate the ones that went missing

put fortune 2 on your pickaxe it gives you more when you mine ores

Josh if you bump into a fox or arctic fox you can lure and breed them with berries. Just remember to name them so they don't despawn. Btw to name something put the name tag in the anvil and type a name then use the named name tag on something you want to name.

Using the charcoal to smelt the wood logs is better. He's getting 8 coal for 1 coal rather than using a wooden log to smelt/cook 1.5 items which is a waste.

It's literally a mine shaft. The spider spawners are normal. Just the zombie one that's a shock being directly in the way of the mine shaft
