“We get to” is what people should think about any physical task.
Thank you for this charming and inspiring video. Great for neophytes. But, as someone who has been coxing/rowing/sculling/coaching for 40 years, this made me smile, and maybe just brought a little tear to my eye. For that I am grateful. My very best wishes for your next three years rowing at Duke. Do consider Oxford for postgraduate studies. I can give you some introductions if you like. And in gratitude for this beautiful video, let me leave you with a thought from the historian Henry Lachouque, who wrote in The Anatomy of Glory that "Only mediocre men are embarrassed by the presence of an elite." Be that elite.
