Red GTR with the chute out used to be my buddies, he was the first owner. I still remember the first launch he did in our neighborhood, felt like warp speed with a stock setup. Good memories in that car. I was bummed when he sold it.... but now Im watching it break records!!!

what amazes me more than anything is these cars use a V6 and twin turbos..to make that much power out of that is pretty astonishing..

I think traction from downforce would be more important that the little bit of drag. No expert but it’d make sense.

George is running very small tires out back compared to the rest of the big hitters he needs that wing to put enough pressure on the rear to get as much traction as possible and at speed it levels out so very minimal drag on top end

Can someone explain to me the point of converting an AWD gtr to rear wheel drive? Once you do that it's not really a gtr any more, you could stick any body on it and it's still just a rwd racecar.

I remember when everyone hated the GTR when it came out “But it doesn’t have a RB” ........ makes me wonder what the MK5 Supra will be capable of in a few years when all the tears dry up.

sometimes I think fanboys don't understand what it costs to make a GTR actually go fast. You're on the internet. These aren't on the lot next to Prius'. My alpha 9 kit was $25 000 + install and + tuning and a couple turbo upgrades to only blow the trans up. Stage 1 trans $11 000, stage 2 $14 000, Stage 3+with gears was another $12 000. Not to mention all the extras for cooling and fuel and tires blah blah or a $3500 exhaust!!! I paid $70 for a used GTR and put well over that into it and it still barely ran 9's on E. Cleetus built Ruby for EASILY less than I had in my transmission alone and will run 8's.

yea just like the new corvette will cost the same,just to get upgrade parts for a new car. the only thing new car has over old ones, are basically computers on wheels. you buy an old car expect to be slower round corners than any new cars. ruby blew 3 engines withing 3-4 months and cleetus got sponsors to support his car parts spending and has his buddy that are mechanics. i bet what he put in ruby and leroy cost more that all the parts you for gtr just in one year. your gtr could do track and dragstrips,ruby and leroy are just drag cars with no aid assit and most likely vette track time will be alot slower than your gtr. so atleast you could track and drag with you car he cant.

Turbos are mounted in the same location as from factory. Instead of moving them forward or back etc
