3000, I feel it in my bones!!! All that gold wow! Rubies that aren't lab grown are usually very small. Rubies crack very easily so a lot of rubies are filled if you find a large ruby have it looked at by a jeweler. Love it when you hunt with friends!

Congrats on the elusive red stones. That was quite the collection area, with everybody getting gold. Glad to see Dave scoring big. Seemed like 50% of that or more was old. Some looked really old. Of course all gold is old. I would hit that area for a few days at least. Mike, your making it look easy. Keep it going! I am starting to get the urge to take a little flight west.

Thanks Ron. I hit it the next day and only got part of a broken 10k class ring and 3’ of 10k chain. It has totally sanded back in. It comes and it goes. Ha ha. 🏴‍☠️🙂

That was one hell of a day for hitting rings on that beach, those two red stoned rings were beautiful. I think that My Knife cutter might actually be for cutting seatbelts in emergencies but, it would also work for cutting fishing line I bet. Great video, always looking forward to the next one! 🤟

Great hunt you guys are killing it happy for you all I will let you know that my knife might be a seat belt cutter so that in the event of an emergency such as an accident and or running off into water in a car you can safely remove a seat belt from yourself or someone else see of that helps you find it. Alota scuba divers wear them on there fingers or velcro to there arms in case they get snagged up in fishing lines and also to rescue wildlife....checkout dallmtyd his channel has links to the gear...nice find bro!

I had thought it might be a seatbelt cutting tool, makes sense that a kite surfer would need something like that so sudden high winds couldn't take them too far out or too high.👍

Its more a case of getting tangled in the lines for some reason or your lines getting tangled on obstacles cutting them ensures taking home your kite and bar. Dyneema lines are almost as strong as steel you don’t want to end up getting cut. Its all about safety cut those lines in case of an emergency 🚨

As it was, I nearly killed myself several times jumping off of bridges and trees on cliffs into rivers back in the late 70's and early 80's. I gave it a try again a couple of years ago and just realized I'm too old to be doing such things anymore, it really sucks getting old!👍

He wasn’t bummed. I have been with him a bunch the last week or so. He found a bunch of gold. He was bummed because he was sick and he has been hunting that same spot for years. He couldn’t go out for over a week when it was really good. Jim really is a great guy. I think people get bummed because he is so lucky. He really does get a lot of great stuff. He also knows the weather and surf patterns. He has helped me improve my game tremendously. 🏴‍☠️🙂

Those redish pinkish gemstones do defiantly look like rubies as garnets are a bit more darker than rubies. I have loose rubies that have a similar pinkish colour to it.

To date, I have never sold anything. I have given some things to my kids and wife. Everything else goes in the safety deposit box in case this pirate ever needs it. 🏴‍☠️🙂🏴‍☠️🙂

I use a few detectors but yes I was using the 900 on this hunt. It really is a mixed relationship between the 900 and me. There are aspects I love about it. The death is great. I mainly hunt by tone but it isn’t very stable in the VDI numbers. Lots of targets can jump from a range of numbers. Dimes can bounce around from 72-82 it’s hard when I try to call out numbers. Also, in many high iron beaches it’s will make a deep tent stake act like a silver quarter. I also don’t necessarily like the sound of gold on it. I’m getting used to it. I have found a lot of gold with it. I still love the tones on my 800s but don’t think they go as deep.

No. Almost all California beaches have no vehicle access as there are so many people on them. Parking is super easy right off the beach. I did used to drive my jeeps illegally on the beaches. Did end up getting stuck a couple of times. It gets really sketchy when the tide comes in. 🏴‍☠️🙂

Hi Frank, I use an equinox 800 and 900. Primarily the 900. There are a lot of great detectors out there. The other one a lot of my friends use is called an XP deus 2. Those are a bit pricey. You can pick up an 800 or 900 equinox for relatively reasonable price. If you’re looking for less expensive machines, they’re also a few I might recommend. They may not have quite as many whistles and bells, but they seem to work pretty well I think out of all the less expensive machines, the Xterra, pro by mine lab. Minelab also makes the equinox. You can get the exterior pro for a very reasonable price. They are available on amazon.com.
