We know Ben loves his soft tops, and for all intents and purposes thats the board of choice for out on the east coast where Ben calls home but once you get to Hawaii though, and are surfing those larger faster and less forgiving waves its cool to see you using the smaller boards and refining your skillset. Being able to move faster, turn faster and sharper, being able to use those small thin boards to excel and refine your skillset is nothing but a good thing. You can translate the abilities you learn with those type of boards to your soft tops too. Youre getting better and better the more you surf in Hawaii man. Thats for sure. Consistently pushing yourself and going out of any comfort zone you might have, that's where the real progression occurs. You will prove time and again to yourself and any of us out here watching that you are capable of shredding waves you never thought you would shred. I guarantee that you will surprise yourself and us consistently when you start really consistently riding bigger waves and doing so with that never ending desire for getting better. Best part about it is that you're actually enjoying yourself and enjoying the time you're spending in the water.

( Not necessarily in that order.)

I love the way Ben surfs. He has this really cool style where he draws everything out and makes it look super smooth and easy. I think that is what all the softop riding does to you cause I feel it doing same thing to my surfing, just not as good as Ben. Very diff from his early years.

Dude, I used to live on Oahu when I was a little kid back in the 80s. Those centipedes are no joke. I got bit by one I was like 5 years old and my hand got so swollen and I had to go to the emergency room in that big pink hospital up in the hills. Not sure if it’s still there.

Pink was so the enemy knew it was a safe place and not to bomb it or some shit laddat. I've live here my whole life im 38 and i can say i have never been to that hospital or even went up that hill to it, now thinking about it i feel stupid not to go see it. Ahh im taking the kids up there in the morning lol

i rented the log cabins house from 90-94 before moving out to Mok's one of the best waves on the north shore but super fickle ,, surfed plenty huge rock piles the left is actually the wave when its on ,, funny gas chambers was always my go to wave over rockies especially in the 4-6ft range any bigger and your getting stomped ,,
