Yep....this thing firing up literally made my day! It's been a long time coming but definitely worth your time and effort! Sometimes a fresh set of eyes on the problem is all you need! Seems like he'd be a good fit in your group and some of these videos too! Congratulations!

I gotta tell you , My brother was using my JD 350 dozer and it quit him he thought it was out of fuel and it sat in the field all weekend while I worked and today after watching the video I checked the 12 volt power to the pump and found a broken wire jumperd it and she fired right up ! Thanks the pain you go through has a purpose !

I knew you needed Brandle or Tommy to even think about finally getting it running. But what happened to Tommy?
It gets even harder to just look and tell what wrench to use, as now they mix in metric bolts and nuts. What a racket. Most auto repair classes are now at the Community college level.
Fantastic news Hank! So happy it worked out for you after all that! 👍

Outstanding!!! Happy we crested this mountain
You probably already know this but. There is a small round pedal in the floor on some models that puts it in neutral. It for loading trucks. When the pedal is down it put it in neutral. but. Not very big around. Check it to see if it has one, if so make sure it's all the way up. Thanks for the video I always enjoy watching.
Bad connection 😪 Oh Hank every time you get news. I'm happy that this thing starts now. I like your crew and it is so cool when you get happy. 😊 Take care and god bless....
IT'S RUNNING! 😀😀 I've been following this machine since you did the first "will it run" when it was by the dirt road. Hopefully the movement problem can be solved as well. I didn't know that John Deere would include an "anti theft" feature into their equipment, but I guess it's the right thing because lets face it, a backhoe is expensive and you wanna protect your investment. Great job fellas!!! 👍👍👍🚜

You farmers have access to TNT for getting rid of huge tree stumps well if all else fails?
Congratulations! I just came across this video yesterday. I finally got my JCB 214 started today. A mechanic from the dealership was sent out this morning. After two hours, the supervisor says I need the injector pump refurbished. He estimated 10 to 12 hours to remove the pump! And, he said it would need to be done in the shop. Fortunately it fired up after I properly bled the Fuel lines and gave it a small shot of starting fluid! Hopefully, problem is solved. If not, at least I’m gaining confidence to maintain it myself.

You should win some type of award for that! Like you said, it definitely builds confidence. That's why great mechanics call the bad ones part changers.
Thanks alot. Nice videos.👍👍👍
Hank, I have been a diesel Tech for 35 years and sometimes you have to do things not the way you learned in shop and certification school but the school of hard knocks. Just the nature of the beast. Hank, when did you start with UPS. Brown on brown clothing. Lol. Just funny not being a butt.
Congratulations on it finally cranking!!! That was awesome!!! I am so excited for you and Tommy. Can’t wait to see it in action. Keep up the great work.

a couple of wood chisels also make good wedges.
3 sorry I've been commenting while watching pull the cover. A regular puller will pull that get no issue. Otherwise you will marr it and throw it out of speck. And always replace the dowl. Also when installing the pump make sure you start with where it was because you can advance the timing on the pump by where you bolt it back on
Awesome! Bet that was a sigh of relief to finally have it running on its own fuel!

@@HamiltonvilleFarm This music is like Ooompah music - in Germany it starts associations about Cowboys, girls, and Saloon shootouts. Vice versa, when Americans hear Oompah music, the chain of associations would be like: Bier - Lederhosen - Blonde & Busty Bombshells in Dirndls. This is what I call a mutual spitting image on both sides of the Atlantic!

IT'S ALIVE great gift for Gina Hank 😏 👍
That was fun. Reminds me of the time I gave up on a nice Honda mower and just shoved it in the corner of the yard for 2 years. One day while working on a car, I checked the gaps on the new spark plugs I was installing and suddenly thought of that mower. I pulled it out of the ivy and weeds and pulled the plug and gapped it. Fresh gas and it fired right up. lol I remember laughing like you were. I still use that Honda all these years later.

Regular gear puller works fine. As far as time weld a straight w 2 in bar with 2 3 in wings facing down. When the motor is allowed ypu can just turn the injection pump gear instead of the whole motor

Hey I noticed in your previous video on this backhoe. The fuel shutdown solonoid was an electromagnetic device. When you took it off I noticed something that might be worth looking into and trying in the future. Why not get a magnet and put it against the solonoid? It might just pull that plunger open. Just a thought

When it finally started, it was so smooth and even that it was almost anti-climatic. No rattle/clatter/tons of crap being blown out of the exhaust. Sounds like you've got a bunch of wire connections to clean up so everything gets the voltage it's supposed to. Direct current is ... unforgiving ... in that regard. And with grounding. Make sure everything that requires it has a good clean ground connection. Weird things can happen when there isn't.
