pretty sure Jay Brewer at Prehistoric Pets hatched the first and named the gene “Rainbow,” but Kevin didn’t like that name and went with “Ocelot” which i don’t think is very cool since he named most of the ball pythons and everybody kept those names.

They were named Rainbow by Mike Cole who imported the first DH into the states. Kevin produced visuals with some of my adult DH he has on loan. Kevin spoke with Mike about calling them Ocelots and he was fine with the change.

I am the owner of the Ocelot. I was asked what it would take to buy the animal. His breeder value to me is easily 100k. His lasy clutch was 31 babies at 6500 a pair. He's produced 5 clutches for me. The math is simple. The catch is he wasn't for sale at the show.

But breeder value and market value are very different, you can make thousands off some boas and balls but the parents are still only worth market value! To say it’s worth 100k is a bit of a stretch, it can produce you 100k but to be worth what it’s potential is is not usually how snakes are priced! Thanks for clarifying big up for the big snake!

I agree. But will repeat. 1 the animal isn't for sale and 2 search worldwide for a proven Ocelot/ Rainbow male for sale.. there is no market value because it doesn't exist
