Yo, yo, yo! James and Sarah here, back with another episode in our van build series. This week we filled our camper conversion water system up for the first time & its leaks galore. But after a slight panic & then a few nip ups here & there, we get it all straightened out.
We also install the last section of our kitchen worktop, wire up the fill gauges for our water tanks & finally turn on our Truma Ultrastore water heater & after another small drama get the hot water working.
We’re getting close to the end now guys, real close, & everything is really starting to come together. Well by the end of this video it is anyway!
There’s more detailed info over on our website about both our campervan plumbing system:

And here’s the first parts of our plumbing & hot water videos in case you missed them:

    Fabulous to see how all of the pieces fit together and how you worked it all out and made it work. I was watching in admiration and horror - admiring your work and convinced I won't be able to do it when it's time to refit our Hiace. It's such a fiddly and meticulous job, and you're both brilliant. The end result is practical and beautiful. Really well done!

    Ah thank you very much. It’s probably a lot simpler than we make it look 😅 And it’s quite dramatic when the smallest mistake sends water gushing everywhere, but because it is water it means it’s relatively easy to troubleshoot - see a leak, fix it! Completely different to electrical stuff where it’s harder to find a fault. We’re sure you’ll be able to do it 🙌😁

    Guys, I'm following all the camperization of your little house. I like your calm when dealing with problems. I congratulate you on your tenacity, for your skills in the work. There is a way to test the pipe work firstly with a air test .just blow up to 2 bar or 30 psi with a gauge on the other end if it drops thay is a leak.

    Do you waste a few litres of water till the hot water comes through on the shower or brave the cold as it comes out til it ends up warm?

  • @TheWholeWorldorNothing

    @TheWholeWorldorNothing

    2 жыл бұрын

    We run it through, yes, but fortunately it’s nowhere near a few litres that’s wasted. The hot water comes through really quickly, guess it’s only roughly 3 metres of 8mm pipe from the heater to the shower so it’s literally about 10 seconds. Will try to remember to measure exactly how much tomorrow and let you know!
