China may not see the UK as a competitor but it certainly views it as a rich seam of intellectual property to be mined. Plenty of clear examples of IP theft, from commercial to military, that should should convince even the most sceptical that the UK is of significant interest to China.

As an Asian person, who's witnessed the effects of Chinese programs in non-Chinese countries, I can assure you that no country is looking for purely win-win relationships, especially China. They're basically doing what Britain did in the past. Have you seen what they're doing in the South Asian countries? They're basically doing country-wide gentrification. It's a new form of colonialism. It didn't quite hit me until I visited the Philippines. You see a beautiful, lavish Chinese casino. Right outside, you will see poor, native, Filipinos, not even allowed entry in certain areas of the most metropolitan cities. Seeing Filipinos banned from parts of their own lands is a disgusting sight. The Chinese are doing what every other massive superpower has always sought to do. Dominate.

Chinese were not the one meddled with Muslim matter in Britain, nor meddled in Scottish or Irish independent, instead it wanted to trade fairly with Britain. That is not true with the UK politicians and their mouth pieces. They all probably are not permitted to express their view be cause of US coercion.

CCP wouldn't waste times on all these due to the following :- Britain overall policies aren't British, Britain Foreign Policies aren't British, Britain defence & military policies aren't British, Britain Economic Policies aren't British. Even NATO policies aren't European. So to target on British politicians would be something unattractive & would not resulting in any favorable yields. Besides, China's & Britain trading going on rather smoothly though not glitters but a healthy trades. Therefore, why must China undermined this relationship for no goods. In Chinese cultures, only building then only one could go forwards but not dismantling. Even if the forwards is only 10% or 20% , it is always better then going backwards as it is a failures or serve no purposes.
