We Discovered The TRUE Story Of WUHAN 🇨🇳

We visited the epicentre of the 2020 pandemic, to find out what life was like here.
Wuhan has some of the best infrastructure we have seen in any city, totally amazing food with street food dotted all over the city.
We had some issues in Wuhan, but despite the huge language barrier, the friendly people here were always looking to help where they could.
Great city full of incredible stories if you can look past the headlines.

No matter what anyone says, for me Wuhan is a city of heroes. There were so many tearful stories of heroism during the epidemic, so many lives taken by the virus, and I have family members who lived in Wuhan and fought the plague. Even with all the rumors and slanders, the city is alive and well today. I hope you guys have fun along the way.

You have accidently paid 10 times more of the actual amount and the shop owner honestly tell you and return back to you what you have over paid. This will not happen in every country. Try that in India, Philippines, Vietnam or Korea.

Alan & Shannon, welcome to China. I am from the US, my first trip to China was 2006. I permanently moved here 2010, I fell in love with the country as I see guys are doing the same. I have had the rare opportunity to watch it grow into exactly what Shannon said. "I feel like I am in the future". Recently the influnza and bronchopneumonia are coming back as usual like every other years during the winter time, and some medias started to make a scene again when the Chinese government reported some of the cases to the WHO, just like the old days. Back in 2020 when the EU started to have massive covid tests, they found out some cases could be dated back in 2019, slightly before the outbreak in Wuhan, the WHO openly discussed it for a while, then stopped all the discussions all the sudden due to some "unknown pressures". Sometimes really feel sad for the Chinese being smeared all these years by medias and haters that follow their medias just because they chose a different type of political system and being silenced almost in every possible way the collective west could has done, guess that's why Tiktok was called to trial in the US Congress, it is not controlled by any westerner. Anyway, Wuhan is a great city, full of history, food and culture, enjoy guys.

Every winter, there are some respiratory diseases caused by weather problems, which are common in people living in the north and the central areas. The hospital is packed, no surprise. Hospitals in China are open at any time without appointment and waiting, and some children will be sent to the hospital for examination by their parents after only a few coughs or diarrhea. Even if there are some common infectious diseases, they are generally controllable.

you should search up Dr David Martin. This whole Corona Virus dates all the way back to the 70's where big pharma started researching corona virus vaccines in pigs and cows. Then in 2002, few months after the Anthrax attack, SARAS outbreak broke out in China. What followed was 10+ years of research into corona virus vaccine in humans, led by Doctor Ralph S. Baric of UNC-Chapel Hill, funded by the DoD, EcoHealth Alliance, Pfizer, etc, supported by Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Mark Zuckerberg, and etc. COVID-19 is an attack on humanity by the billionaires blamed it on the Chinese aimed at taking down the Chinese government, so to speak.

Thank you Alan and Shannon for sharing this. I am a Chinese living in the U.S, my last visit to wuhan was about 25 years ago, it’s amazing to see the big changes there. Really appreciate that you both put the effort to show the world the real China. Every country has its better and worse parts, but most of the time when you heard the western media talking about China, it got so wrong and the people believe what the “experts” saying, the worst thing is when the people talk about China in the powerful podium or in front of TV, and most of they even never being to China. Thank you so much again for showing this. Enjoying the rest of your trip in China. Good luck! ❤

Despite the media's malice towards this city, I still want to say that Wuhan was the first city to establish this unexplained pneumonia as an infectious disease and systematically prevent it. It cannot be said that this is the birthplace of the first case. At that time, Wuhan was hosting a military sports meet with military/government personnel from many countries, and the venue was close to that market. We cannot know the specific content, but thanks to the systematic medical system, infectious diseases in China are always highly valued and immediately prevented, such as atypical pneumonia in 2003.

It was built in the Three Kingdoms period and has a history of 1,800 years. Together with Yueyang Tower in Hunan and Tengwang Pavilion in Jiangxi, it is known as the three most famous buildings in China! 3. Jianghan Road Pedestrian Street. A great place with European style, shopping and delicious food! Wish you have a good trip!😄

As a native from Hubei Province, who had studied in Wuhan for a few years back in early 2010s, I always feel like I have many things to say about the city but also nothing to say. The main characteristics about the city, I would say there isn't much: It's an important city in history, especially in early 20s century; It's a huge transport hub at the heart of central China; it attracts people from all over the province and country to study, work and build there. That's why in my view it's always a "chaotic" place with tons of things going on at the same time. The people, the counstruction and cars were loud but I kinda enjoyed it during my college years. The metro you guys took were just started counstruction during that time(line 2). It's a place I will probably never say I like it, but I don't dislike it because it's the only large city in my area and and very necessary one. However, even in the perspectives of people in China who doesn't necessarily like the city, they definitely don't deserve the smear and attack from western media and public opinions because of covid. They did the best to keep the virus contained and the rest of China should be thankful. The later waves which hit multiple large cities ended up being way worse managed than the first wave from Wuhan, including the lockdown in Shanghai last year which was the worst wave. Unfortunately, Wuhan will be the only city that carries the name along the virus and I can only feel sad.

China but especially Wuhan is extremely hard to navigate in terms of tourism due to the lack of videos, reviews, etc, out there but I'm glad to see you both had a great time overall! The food in Wuhan is just amazing and there's numerous other famous street food areas I hope you got to explore behind the scenes. Everyone in Scotland has 'that face' whenever I mention Wuhan although once they've seen the pictures I show them, their opinion and face completely changes. I applaud you guys for exploring Wuhan without a native because I don't think I could do it haha. During my four months there, I could count on my hands the amount of foreigners I seen which is really sad, but hopefully we can help change that!

I'm not from China but even that I know China is huge, 3rd or 4th largest depending on how you calculate the total size. They have just 3 weeks I think which isn't enough to cover even 10% of China. Even Shanghai and Wuhan they merely just touch and go, barely exploring the city enough, and not taking the proximity to explore Hangzhou or Suzhou which have beautiful water towns and canals , which are just 1-2 hrs away by high speed train.

would love to see you guys explore western China even as far as Xinjiang or in the high altitudes of Tibet. But seeing as how you only have 3 weeks there, I think it is not possible. People find it weird that one of the best provinces I have in my heart is Xinjiang. It's because it's a province that used to be rife with turmoil but now it's a nice and peaceful region with culture and culinary that you might find to be distinct form Eastern China. Northern China like Hubei is more Russian influenced and Inner Mongoloia has a dessert that would be really cool to explore as well!

Hi! I've just watched your other china vlogs. If you can still add some locations to your trip in China, given that you are already in the centre-south, it would be amazing to go to places like Chongqing or Chengdu to see the pandas, to Zhangjiajie (the mountains that inspired Pandora from Avatar) or Guilin. However, winter isn't the best season to visit it since the beautiful rivers and mountains are the main attraction and it might be freezing. For more big cities, Shenzhen is great, I loved it when I went. Oh! And greetings from Spain! I'm a second gen Chinese immigrant here
