My dad had a small hay opperation when i.was barley born, he sadly had to sell not long after i was born and i worked on a ranch where we baled hay once i would love to make hay again someday
Always enjoy the videos. Can't change mother nature, only adjust to circumstances.
That rained on hay will still grow beef

Trevor living the dream
Great video Trevor. Wish we could have control of the weather
If you're using spears, look into a moffit and put a bale spear on them. Super small, fast and turns sharp. Those are used for lumber delivery drivers. But I could see them being used for hay as well.
Did you ever thought of making pellets from your hay with the Krone pellets press ?

You must have a huge expense with twine for the big bales! What is used to make twine these days?
What size are the big bales? I’ve been getting 3x3x8s and my spears are 4 ft long. I need to get a 4 spear that are 3 ft long.

Ey Trevor I have a question, do you buy alfalfa hay?
@BalesHayFarmandRanch

I do!
So does the grower discount it to you.

It depends on how the deal was made.
May want to invest in a Tedder to dry it down quicker after it gets rained on.

We have one, we use it on grasses. Not alfalfa
