By the way, the "legally distinct" defence is unlikely to work in court, when you've explicitly named this video "We did our own Taskmaster". It's kind of like pleading not guilty to murder... whilst wearing a T-shirt that says "I am the Bristol Pusher and I killed them all". It's like the polar opposite of pleading the fifth - the American right not to be compelled to incriminate yourself - but, instead, it's just voluntarily self-incriminating, where no-one was compelling you to say anything at all, for no good reason.

This was honestly one of the best pieces of live action Yog content out there--even when comparing it to the Survival Challenges, Block and Load and Assassin's Creed bits of the past! It was just so creative and hilarious. The cast was perfect for it! Here's hoping we get Lewis, Bouphe, Ose, and Simon for the next bit! Or a special Triforce episode with Lewis, Pflax and Sips!

I love the character development of Rav's arc. He starts off by walking to the tower while forgetting a refreshment, and by the end of the tasks, he's learnt from his mistakes.

I think I know what went wrong with the wax seals. I’m guessing they used regular candle wax, instead of sealing wax. I learned that lesson myself when I tried to make a prop sealed letter for a d&d game.

Yes, looks like paraffin wax! You can get years worth of sealing wax for just a few bucks. Though I do like how the wax, the tasks, and the cards are just a bit different.

What an original take though, mastertask really do be the best of the original and having a great personality of its own

Haven't watched the Yogs for a while now, but this just popped up in recommended, and I am actually surprised how well done and funny this whole thing was. I hope this is just the first of a long series.

The last one-liner by Ben, combined with everyone's reactions, is the best part of this episode (one of many, I should hope) and was definitely worth the 75 minutes' wait.

I thought Lydia was robbed in that round. Bens arbitrary score multiplier should not have counted. Ben scored 5 points and not as high as Lydia was.

@@mart8675309 Yeah, Duncan was at a higher elevation with "fewer" points in his game, but was awarded more points for the task than Ravs, whereas Lydia was at a higher elevation than Ben and was awarded fewer points.

I’d love to see another episode of this with a new group of yogs to be mercilessly mocked by Tom…..maybe with a few more complex tasks with things to help hidden around the room like in the legally distinct completely unrelated TV show

PLEASE do another series of this. This is honestly one of the best things The Yogs have produced and it somehow feels really nostalgic with that old school Yog charm. The editing is superb, the casting is perfect, the two Toms were phenomenal! I just loved it.

Man I don't think any other channels do Members stuff so damn well. I don't care about watching videos a bit early or the odd BTS thing. But funding things like this, the Members Show and the other awesome IRL stuff is amazing

For the paper travel distance: hold the paper in your hand and spin in circles for 10 minutes. They never specified distance away from the office, just distance travelled.

This is just, straight up, great content. I really warmed to the awkward silences. And Tom B is such a natural on camera - probably the one with the most professional skill. Tom C is an amazing choice for master tasker, too.

Unfortunatly Ben has not set a record - the loudest shout must be a word - for example the record was "quiet" recorded at 121.7 dBA. The loudest scream which is what Ben was trying for was 129dBA

@@IcepersonYT Sound Pressure (Volume) is on a log scale. Every 3 dB is roughly double the power. So if you get 100 dB by putting 10 watts through a speaker, you'd only get 103 dB by putting 20 watts through that speaker. So for 10 dB over his initial try he'd have to generate 8 times as much power over his initial try. Adding that much power is harder than it sounds. (Intended)

I'm a huge fan of the legally distinct Taskmaster, and that MasterTasker was absolutely wonderful to watch. I really hope you roll this around into a second episode - that is some premium content!

They have got the Vibe of the actual show perfectly on point even from the B-roll shots to the Tom and Tom host and Co-host dynamic. I hope to see more with other members .I have also wondered why no other group of creators/streamers has done this yet. The format of the real show translates well to Live streaming or being on KZread.

Definitely not suitable for livestreaming 😆 You need to cut to segments of recorded video. And with soundtracks and edits, it just wouldn't be as good as a livestream. But you are right, surprised there isn't more of this going around. I'm also shocked by the relatively lower number of views compared to other videos? Like this is *iconic,* one of the best videos in a long time!

The best 5$ a month I have spent. So glad to see they used the funds for this fantastic video with some people that have become quite rare on the main channel. Also great to see Tom Bates on an official video again, I have really been missing movie dungeon with him.

I think my cheeks hurt because I ended up watching this with a constant big smile on my face Lydia, you were done dirty with the portrait judging and Uber timing, that was certainly good thinking! Amazing video guys, well done to everyone that helped produce and edit it, can already tell I'll come back and rewatch this in the future while I hope and pray for more

I don’t comment on videos usually, this will be my first comment in what feels like years. But I legitimately really enjoyed this content and idea. I’ve grown up with the Yogs from school, and now as a serving police officer I’ve come back from a long day working and been greeted with this absolute masterpiece. I love the way the content has evolved on the yogs with their audience which has made me come back time after time - though I’m not watching every single video, I never miss the good ones. And for me now a tired man enjoying a beer in his own house, this video was an absolute pleasure and I just didn’t want it to end. Thanks guys.

The loudest sound one had, as Tom said, perfect results in decibel, because they reflected how directly they made the sound with their body. -Hand -> button in the car -> techy stuff -> horn -Hands -> holding stuff -> stuff connects with each other -Hand and foot -> connects with cabinet -Scream Really, either way screaming should have been the only option. It’s the only really loud sound you can make with your body… With. Your. Body.

I was there every week for foleyship and it was an amazing experience. I love that they were so attentive to chat and took a lot of great ideas from it. Never forget; CAR, NO CAR and Bilbo's pocket fetish also Frodo the goblin and Christopher Walkin as Aragorn sings songs from Shrek. Oh god and that unnessicarily beautiful rendition of I Need a Hero by Sam.

I'm pretty sure the bonus round violates the Geneva convention, I mean look at poor Tom B, man was shaking in fear near the end. And his look of Shell shock when it popped.

This is great, I feel like it's just missing the audience laughing in the background. Also I can't believe toms been hiding behind the camera all these years, he's so entertaining

I love that Duncan and Ravs _both_ thought of Cabot Tower, that was my first thought too (and as usual, the Yogscast being based in Bristol never fails to trip my brain up; in my head, "That's a place I know IRL" and "These people exist on the internet" just... don't intersect, despite having been a fan of the yogs since forever, and every time they go outside in a video my brain fails to compute. The fact that Ben later got on the bus that _I_ get to and from the centre from my house is definitely not helping that for this video though lmao) It's a shame that the tower itself has been closed since the pandemic started, you used to be able to go up to the top and there are some brass plaques on the balconies which point out the landmarks you can see from there

Just finished it, wow that was great fun! "Welcome to the very first episode of.." Does it mean you plan on making more of these? With the same contestants or new ones? Also, suggestion for future tasks, don't ask them to do anything that has to do with height, they need to stop going to that tower for each and every single task (heck the only reason Duncan didn't go for the egg is because he'd already been there a few times already and didn't want to abuse)

Duncan only went to Cabot tower once. Also, Tom mentioned that there were 4 months between when they recorded the tasks and when they recorded the scoring, so if they are going to do more they’ve likely already filmed the tasks.

I knew I was going to enjoy this just for being Taskmaster + Yogscast, but it was honestly even better than I expected. Right down to nailing the little things, like the little clips that play in the transitions between tasks. Love it.

"I recognized that it existed, and played it" was a great line from Tom

Unbelievable quality in both filming and editing, I love this so much already

You can watch back all content immediately when you become a member, and there's been so much quality content over the years. Highly recommend.

I can't even get more than three minutes into the video without almost literally laughing to death because it's making me choke, I had to pause the video so I could breathe again.

This is so damn good. Little Tom Bates is the perfect person to play the assisstant role, and I can't think of anyone else doing the Mastertasker as well as Tom. Perhaps Lewis, but he doesn't exude the same air of confidence. And we've got a perfect line-up of candidates too! - The witty, understand the rules and trick them player, Ben. - The "yeah I'll let the assistant do the work for me" player, Lydia. - The "I am here just to suffer" player, Ravs. - The "If you understand the rules in this other way, technically I win!" player, Duncan. The little transition movies with the music, the editing, everything's just really on point. Except maybe the tasks themselves, too many of them included "highest", so we got a few duplicate attempts (which was still funny though), I'm hoping for more variation in Episode 2! Please make more!

Two of my favourite things, Yogscast and Taskmaster. I don't watch the gaming stuff as much anymore but I still love all the guys that are part of the Yogs so I love the irl videos! You've got to get Lewis, Simon, Sips, Pyrion, and Hat Films on here at some point!

This was absolutely delightful!! It's so clear the love and care that was put into this, from the cue cards to the banter to the tasks, absolutely charming and hilarious. Would love to see more.

Im absolutely blown away by the quality of these videos, genuinely some of the best content yogs have made, would LOVE to see more or this. I love how you guys use the members money for incredible projects like this, keep em coming!

Now we just need little Alex Horne to make an appearance and all will be right in the world!

@@greyforge27 lol but fr tho Little Alex Horne has been very supportive of other fan recreations like Taskmaster Minnesota and Taskmaster Portsmouth (even showing up in Portsmouth) and those straight up use the original show's branding and music. It would still be on the Yogs to make sure this is all fine and above board so I hope that was the case.

@@SaulGoodman3D2049 I mean copyright with gameshows like this has always been iffy. Shows are constantly copied. I don't think it's really an issue. It's not like making people do stuff is such a novel concept though this is of course very close to the original.

this was incredible, my only issue was the quiet moments around reading the tasks. I think a looped bg track would be good for quieter moments

@@DazikLP ...Except by the way the fingers are on the knife, it has to be a right hand. The palm has to be facing away from the camera because you can see the inside of the fingertips on the left. He couldn't be holding that knife with his left hand unless his forearm is insanely flexible.

This ABSOLUTELY needs to be a series. I've been on a huge Taskmaster binge lately and this is just perfect xD

The savagery at the end was absolutely uncalled for and very hilarious.
