Riko’s death is probably a big catalyst in changing Geto. In the first episode of this ark he talked about how Jujutsu was meant to protect the weak, but this might signify to him that the weak will all ultimately die and only the strong can maintain anything

Not really about the part of the weak dying anyway... It's more like how the weak are not people worth protecting. They will cheer on other weak and sorcerers dying for their own sake. Both Geto and Gojo start hating the jujutsu society system, in different ways for different reasons. Gojo hates the false moralism and the old conservatives and some other things. Geto hates how the system works as whole, as how dozens of sorcerers constantly die to protect people without any kind of praise or remorse. They are recognized when they are useful, but when they die, they are just another statistic. Geto becomes a villain after a *succession* of breakdowns, that made him thinking that just killing every human (the ones who creates curses) is just worthy to stop endless death and objectification of sorceres and people

No your wrong. SPOILERS: Remember during his shower scene, that's when he realized his belief of saving the weak is flawed. He realized that the weak are not harmless. He was contemplating with himself as to why he would continue the cycle of "Exorcise, consume" for those "monkeys"

Heavenly Restriction or “Heavenly Pact” gives a newborn sorcerer a power but it takes something from the baby as well in exchange. It's like a binding vow but the baby does not consent with the Heavenly restriction that will be made upon their body. We have three sorcerers with this in the entire series, even in the manga, Maki Zen’in & Mechamaru & Toji Zen’in. Toji's Heavenly restriction removed his body's cursed energy in exchange for superhuman strength, speed, and heightened senses. His Heavenly restriction is similar to Maki's but Maki still has cursed energy. Maki just has less Cursed Energy than even the average non-sorcerer, Unlike Toji who has 0% Cursed Energy. Mechamaru's Heavenly restriction is the opposite, he has abnormal amounts of Cursed Energy in exchange for a frail, weak, sickly body.

Geto's character arc is super underrated imo, he's literally one of the nicest person in the whole Jujutsu Tech before he turned insane. It really shows what happens when someone with a strong ideology gets their world turned upside down. Toji, and the death of Riko are the start there will be many more for Geto.

Put your hatred for Toji aside for a minute and think about this. Throughout the last 2-3 episodes Gojo has been very cocky and looked down on ordinary humans. At one point he even mocks Q (correction: Star religious group), and says they're just a bunch of losers with no curse energy so they should be completely ignored. So it is perfect poetic justice for Toji, a man with no curse energy to come and absolutely humble him and teach him a lesson he will never forget.

I do absolutely love seeing Gojo take the L, and it's super impressive, well planned, and feels deserved... but also people simp over this arrogant Toji way too much for beating up/killing a bunch of kids Obviously Gojo (and Geto) still has the strength of an adult, but Toji just shot a middle schooler and maimed 1 (boutta be 2) high schooler as a grown ass man and acted cocky about it T-T

The most insane part I think is that Mappa decided to play the ending theme song to fool us into thinking that would be the end of the episode. Then bam afterwards plays it a second time after our trauma like nothing happened.

I don’t read the manga but I love Toji so far as a character. And one the most important reason is he’s voiced by the one and only Takehito Koyasu (Dio Va)

If you listen carefully and look at Gojo's eyes, right before he says he never wants to babysit again he turned his powers off most likely so he could rest thinking he was safe within the barrier of JJK High School

Toji used Inverted Spear of Heaven, a curse tool that stops any curse technique that it touches. That is how he was able to bypass Gojo's infinity. Gojo made a huge mistake of being too reliant on his Infinity and Toji used that mindset to his advantage

I think this arc is doing a great job at preparing the audience for how brutal the Shibuya Incident arc will be, and the more important fights throughout the series.

It's so unexpected, and Toji is such a beast. It's insane. Toji's just built different, y'know? About Geto, it really is very tragic that he became what we see later. I won't go into any details, of course, but it'll make sense. And this arc is what made Geto one of my absolute favourite characters in JJK, it's SO good (and devastating). And yes, you are correct, Sam, this arc is only 5 episodes. Then we'll have 3 weeks of break and then, on August 31st, the Shibuya Incident begins, which will last until the end of the season. About the 0 cursed energy thing: all humans, except for Maki and Toji, have cursed energy. What differs jujutsu sorcerers from regular humans is that sorcerers can control their CE and regular humans cannot. Maki and Toji, however, are heavenly restricted, which means that a binding vow was forced in them at birth, like Kokichi Muta (Mechamaru). In Maki and Toji's case, they have 0 cursed energy, which makes their bodies much more capable than regular humans' bodies. You might be thinking "well, Maki is clearly not the same as Toji", and you're right, and we'll get to it. Not now, though

Present day Gojo is waay stronger than he was here. He doesn't have to put effort into keeping his infinity up anymore because he basically has unlimited cursed energy after he was 'awakened'. During this Arc it takes a lot of energy for him to use his techniques which is why he drops it when he thinks he's safe.

Toji is a genius, he knew everything he had to do to be able to defeat Gojo, stabbing him from the back with no cursed energy weapon right when Gojo let his guard down, making him believe that he only got stabbed because he let his guard down and didn't have the infinity barrier by saying "I knew you wouldn't release your technique until the very end", forcing Gojo to go full defensive mode with the infinity barrirer in the end because he knew that Gojo had insane intuition and the six eyes, so he would notice Toji's presence and would also notice that blade with cursed energy, but that's what Toji wanted, cause he had a way to deal with Gojo infinity barrier

Toji was so important to JJK for 2 main reasons - He was the reason Gojo got humbled .... if he remained this cocky during the current events of JJK, he could have been a tyrant - He was the catalyst that made Geto change his philosophies and realize than only the strong can survive, and eventually becomes a villain

And what’s so crazy too is that the main timeline you don’t really get any idea of who Megumi’s father is other than that he’s a deadbeat dad until this arc where he literally reshapes the Jujutsu world (which you’ll find out more of how later but you could probably put the pieces together but one them is definitely Geto’s slowly turning into evil) like goddamn THAT’S Megumi’s daddy. Now next episode will be peak writing and more than likely animation and that coupled with this episode is twin peak basically (not a reference to the show just the implication of being together). Awesome stuff as always can’t wait for everyone’s hearts to be broken even more lol

😂😂😂This is the best episode to watch people react to! Between Gojo getting bodied and Riko's sudden death lol Toji will forever remain the GOAT. The situation was tragic, but a necessary evil for Gojo to obtain enlightenment - both of his CT and his ideology of those weaker than him. Because of Toji and the cult, Geto was (unfortunately) pushed to the brink of his sanity. These events kickstarted Gojo's passion to reform Jujutsu society and changed his views towards those weaker than him. I love Toji's character for many reasons to be explained in the future, but he easily earned my respect with these feats, alone.

Toji so dope bro didn't give a f about plot armour straight up nailed two strongest characters but then author remembered who is needed for plot.

Really great reaction. I didnt read the manga but I wouldnt be surprised if this is what causes Geto to snap. Seeing Rika getting shot right in front of him, believing his best friend just got killed. Anyone would snap at that point. Toji's a non-curse user so I wouldnt be surprised if he started to hate all non-curse users

i feel like gojo at this point has never killed anyone, when he said "i failed, i thought i could do it this time" i think he could do the cursed reversal Red i just dont think he ever use it cause it could kill someone. Rikos death was one of the biggest reason for geto becoming what he is in JJK Zero not the curses he ate, he was traumatised, he conviced himself that he was too weak to protect her even tho it wasn't really true, it was just that the opponent was too strong (Toji). =========== Spoilers ============== And after when gojo defeates toji he was regretful and felt pathetic. Her death was the turning point for getos ideology, he still was skeptical before but after her death he was sure, he was to weak, to soft, and began to belive "monkeys" shouldn't exist. But he never broke his principales, he always prioritised his friends and family before himself, he was undeed a better person that gojo ======= ok ==================

Poor sweet Riko…the moment she realised that she wants to live and continue to be with everyone, she dies. Her death was one of the most heartbreaking experiences I had. Her death had major impact on Gojo and Geto going forward.

Fun fact The encounter’s season between young Gojo and Toji was changed to winter, and the OG scene in the manga is made more clear in that it was OUTSIDE, not inside the Gojo clan’s household

Two association in this event. Group Q - the group of sorcerers wants to take over jujutsu worlds by having tengen. Star religious group - non sorcerers that worship tengen that dont want to merge with star plasma vessel believing thats impurity. Thats why they hire people to kill SPV. I believe these things are not mention in this episodes.

It was mentioned by Yaga in episode 1, and Q were disbanded right after geto and gojo wiped the floor with their 2 top guys as it was said in episode 2, so idk why they thought Q kidnapped kuroi when she herself said it was by non-sorcerers of the star religious group which is why she was ashamed of being captured xD

Gojo is a mary sue and I love that Toji beat his ass.

OK i have a question, do people with enough curse energy to see curses on a daily basis are considered curse users? Because Riko and the Maid can see Curses and Geto called Maki "a Monkey" like normal people because she couldn't.

basically everyone has cursed energy (except toji, maki has some but not enough to be a sorcerer). If you don't have enough cursed energy to see curses Adult Geto would consider you a monkey

It's not sure! He could've called Maki a Monke because she is like Toji and he hates him, if i remember well Toji refered to himself as a monke in front of Geto. He wants a world for Jujutsu sorcerer, and Gojo pointed out in the movie that he knew that Geto wouldn't kill the kids maybe he saw her as a sorcerer too but hate her regardless because of Toji
