That's a truly amazing job - even by your standards! To totally reconstruct a hearth AND install a marble fireplace, where there had previously not been anything, and to make it fit seamlessly with the panelling is total genius. And you're totally right to do it: a salon just isn't a salon without the focus point of a fireplace. Bravo 🥰🥰

Working as a mum and son team makes me smile and know just how special it is. The joy and love both you and Ash have as a couple Terry, also bring much to me as a viewer.

Terry your vision of how you want Chateau to look is wonderful and the fireplace surround is just perfect, it even has rectangles carved into it that match the rectangular shapes of the panelling. Your Mum's attention to detail and doing all the fiddly, tedious bits is inspiring, what a great team the three of you are and I'm looking forward to seeing Ash's work in the garden too. Love the fireplace! You are the king of frankenbuilds. Anyone can buy expensive antiques and put them in a room. But you manage to find stuff that anyone else thinks isn't worth much or beyond repair and then create something enterily different and beautiful with it. The fireplace surond is lovely but I don't see a chimney, It is a shame that it will not be a working fireplace. Crackling logs adds such a lovely ambiance.

The 401 suite seems to be coming together quicker than the 400 and that is because you have learnt so many lessons and added to your skills sets that you can cope with the unexpected better equipped this time around. Also with the correct tools add to which you are a great team together, including Johnathan when he is there to help. I'm excited to see your progress with each episode 🙂

You need a dumb waiter...a small lift by which you can send items, food, etc. up and down. My 4th great grandfather's house had one and it was still in use when I was a child. My mother and her cousin used to pull each other up and down in it when they were kids. Today they are motorized.

There are an amazing assortment of new electric & propane gas wall hung fireplaces that would fit nicely into your newly built fireplace. They look so real it's difficult to tell they're fake and they're only 3" - 4" deep. ❤️🙏

That must be the plan? I don't see a flue or a gas line, and it is a very narrow space, just a few inches before the decorative tile starts. They didn't say anything other that the brick would be covered with some metal? Or did I miss it?

Good job fireplace looks fantastic. When we lived in Belgium. We did a faux fireplace, for the inside i went to a fireplace shop and the have terracotta small square tiles i bought the lattice design and after we put them in I got a couple of the black leading cream tubes as we didn't want brick colour they sell it for polishing the cast iron stoves and rubbed it on then polished it when it was dry and it looked a million dollars looked as if it was always there for hardly any money

They're built up in small sections like that because otherwise, they'd be ridiculously heavy and expensive.....!! ...they give the illusion of being solid marble .......

For your fireplace, may I suggest get a artificial cracking log set with an amber colored light that will reflect a flickering light onto the fireback . I bought one at a thrift store 15 years ago ,& it still.works like new.

The fireplace is so beautiful, it makes a statement and gives inspiration for the decoration of the room. Looking forward to seeing more!
