We did a Full Cleanout of the First Three days of this Gold Mining Trip.

This is a long one, but I wanted to include the cleanout and results in this video rather than make you all wait another week.
My Patreon: / utmostoutdoors
The first part of the video is day 3 out on the river then we skip ahead to the cleanout from the trip. Feel free to use the chapters to skip to a certain part, or enjoy the whole video if you like.
Out on the river the pop'n'son style miners moss was working fantastic, and we collected a total of 4 cleanouts over about 18 to 19 hours of digging at this location. Once we got home, I classified everything down to 20 mesh, and ran it all through a series of Infinity Prospecting's Devon Gold VDR Sluice matting. The results of the cleanup sluice were a little over 98.5% recovery. Then I used my home made miller table to do the final cleanout, and even ran the cleanup sluice off my Jackery 500 Power Bank. Chris and I dried out the gold into some trays over night and did a split the next afternoon. It was a great trip and I can't wait to share the final two days out on the river with you!
As always, Thanks for watching!

Your design is great. It's perfect for the single or couple of VIRGIN PROSPECTORS ... If you'd add ADJUSTABLE "ARMS" to your FILL BOX arm and ROCK FALL arms, you'd be able to reduce your losses of the soil or sediment changes ... and you could add a "weight pressure switch to adjust water pressure" to automatically increase or decrease the water flow ... I'll accept your next prototype ... for my suggestions ... 😆 🤣 😂 😹 Just, "My thoughts" ... Great video. Thank you! God bless us all, Amen.

Looks like the coarser screen has helped a lot for the water bubbles . The screen I used on my sluice was 1/4". You most likely won't need a bubble curtain from what I've seen . Just a little bit of tweaking and you'll have the best sluice for fine gold anywhere. Which is what most gold is . The great thing is very little scour . Looks too that you had a lot of vegetative debris . Great run, great gold, great out fit and no doubt a great time being self employed

Such a long and excellent video has way too much to talk about for a single youtube comment. So I'll just say that is was fantastic, and I only just noticed you were up to 37.000 subs! It feels like it was only last month that you were hoping for 2.000. So huge congratulations on a cool trip, lots of gold and lots of subscribers! :) One thing that's really worth talking about: I think your flared sluice design is contributing big time to the lack of scouring in the mats. I was playing around with the same idea, and it makes perfect sense that a flared design makes the gold less and less likely to get lost the further down it gets, mathematically approaching the "perfect" capture rate. Absolutely top notch design man. And as usual an amazing attention to detail how you document all the statistics.

  • @UtmostOutdoors

    @UtmostOutdoors

    Жыл бұрын

Thanks Dean! Yeah, the subs came in pretty quick there for a while, I kind of can't believe it... I just have to try and pretend I'm still talking to just my first 1000 subs or I get nervous... About the flared sluice, I really do like knowing that the flow is going to be just right at some point along the run... and the narrower part has higher flow and so can handle more feed rate per width and so it all just kinda works out. I like it so much, that I would almost be curious to see what would happen if I built a non flared box just to compare to! lol. I'll keep the stats and info coming as long as I can! I hope we all learn something as I continue to experiment and everyone can wind up with more fine gold at the end of the day!

I would put another smaller sprayer nozzle facing backwards above the fine screen area. Im thinking an adjustable top tray which can be removed for transport is not a bad idea either. And Ive never used a highbanker but its not too different from a dredge. A good rule is to clean it out when you shut the water off other wise the fresh impulse of water washes some gold out!

Amazing find! How many fines/colors per pan did this patch have in the sample pans? Must have been a couple hundred?

Yeah I think it was around 150 to 200 colors per pan...

Aah finally! Been waiting for this part 😁 So in the last video you ran 31GPM and in this video 40GPM. If you were shoveling alone, would 30GPM be better?

I think even alone 40GPM would be better (That's 20GPM per 12" sluice width) It just processes a bit quicker and the scour rate did not increase, so no harm it seems... 1 inch slope was used.

@@UtmostOutdoors Wait what? Oh I thought you ran it at 31-40GPM per 12inch. My bad. I'm about to build a high banker of my own but ill run it with a bilge pump so I don't want to run more water than necessary because then I would need a larger battery. The gold in my area is similar, if not smaller than the gold in your area so your videos has been very helpful in my design. Cant wait for the next video :)

Yeah, look up the pop'n'son sluice on Google. 20gpm per 12" wide sluice is all you need. Just need to classify well or larger rocks won't even roll out with that little water.

Question, where did you source those v-shaped trays you dried your gold dust on? I have been looking for those, and haven’t found a supplier.

I purchased them from Petrocraft industries in Calgary. They call them examination trays. www.petrocraft.ab.ca/product_details?gocart6=product_id%3D5
