No, it's not at all like saying that. It is evident had Liverpool not had to play midfielders all season in the heart of their defence, they would have been up there right to the end. Only the most biased and bitter would deny this.

People seem to forget Man City were in a similar injury situation to Liverpool last season, had to play Fernandinho at the back for most of the season. The comfortably finished second though.

City are defo better. The run they are on is better than anything liverpool did

The signs were always there, thats why they where projected to reach more than a hundred points but ended up with 97, they were stumbling last season. The got beat 3-0 by watford, 7-2 by watford with full squads. I dont think it would have been smooth sailing

City are still about 15 points off what we had this time last season, it’s not far fetched to assume we’d be about 10-15 points better off this year and therefore challenging for the title, if we hadn’t lost key players for long periods. Yes everyone has injuries, but no other team has had to use 18 different CB pairings and had over 1000 days out due to injuries this season. City fans used “Laporte got injured” as an excuse last year as to why they were 25 points behind at this stage, and he was BACK IN JANUARY.

Err with injuries we were top at xmas. With a fully fit squad we challenge them.

Well of course they would have been they were top of the league by Christmas before it got to the point were there was to many injuries at the same time and there front three suddenly stopped scoring so they went on like a 10 game loosing and drawing streak they were a head of every one when city started this run it’s just as City started there good run Liverpool started dropping so if they didn’t have all those injuries and didn’t stop dropping of course it would be Liverpool and city up there again ahead of everyone else

City vs Liverpool at the Etihad in 2019. Finished 2-1. Liverpool had the chance to go 1-0 up but John Stones cleared it off the line. If Liverpool had won that game they’d have gone 7 points clear of city.

@@sj2672 Fact of the matter is, your manager thought he had a starting 11 that could play every game for the next 10 years non stop, and didn't see the need to have proper backup plans...Well his hopes have backfired big time..You can't just be piling pressure on the opponent for 90 mins every game. That style of play can only work for so long and isn't sustainable, just like the Southampton boss is equally realizing...Injury or not, them group of players are done out here...

@@demeoo Kloop is a top Manager and I'm sure he has a great understanding of his players and the game as a whole. Some of the most successful teams rarely rotate, they may rest players when their is an opportunity. Teams definitely didn't rotate their back 4+GK
