My dear, visit South Africa- Johannesburg or Cape Town. You have never seen anything like it. Am Kenyan, i ve been to UK , USA (California) and it can not be compared with SA. The dust( the grass is cut as soon as it shoots) and roads ( uhuru highaway- its in a sorry state) rough drivers, trash everywhere, spits etc are just what can NOT make Kenya “futuristic country”.

It's strange that people have to travel thousands of miles to experience things we take for granted, working in Voi and living in Kitengela, I get to see these animals so frequently, seeing people excited to see them makes me realize how privileged we are as Kenyans.... thunderstorm is very normal during rainfall in Kenya. You're welcome to Kenya, always.

Such a wonderful and true response, I can attest, we don't have all these animals but we get that same kinda responses here in the Caribbean. And we do realize how blessed we are to have it in our daily lives, like sea and sun etc.

I came across this vlog 2 days after my trip to the Mara. I was last there 7 years ago! It was so great reliving my magical 4 days and 3 nights, one of which will be an unforgettable Christmas! I have christened Maasai Mara the 8th Wonder💞. We had a great maasai guide on our game drives and who knew each lion, cheetah, leopard and rhino by name. We even got to see Scar's brother. It was magical💞💞. As we were leaving, on the last day, (a group of 5) it was deathly quiet in the vehicle and Jonathan, our guide became quite concerned. Turns out we were all trying to hold back tears as we reflected on all the wonderful game drives we'd been on! I am Kenyan and so glad that there's something magical about my country.

I was brought up right next to Lake Nakuru national park. I was so used to seeing all these animals i never thought much of it. Over time they become like trees, they are there and you no longer notice them. The baboons would bypass the park's fence and venture into the neighbourhoods surrounding the park. Those baboons were so clever they knew how to open doors, go into a house and ransack cupboards for food. Then there were those times when a leopard would escape and we would skip school until it was found because they usually went on a rampage killing livestock, dogs and never eating any. Just killing them en masse. I remember the idyllic sunsets sitting on a pole by the park's fence with my friends...the breeze scented with the lakes smell cooling us off after a football game. Damn! Those were the days! I now live in a lifeless concrete jungle and i absolutely hate it here...everything is so lifeless...

@@jonesjois3169 sometimes people take ments for granted not knowing their true worth. You only realise later that your normal is something people would pay a fortune to experience even if it's for a short while.During Jamhuri Day entrance used to be free and my dad would pack my siblings, the neighbour's kids and I in the car and take us for a game drive which usually lasted the entire day. We would drive around the park, stop by picnic spots for meals and refreshments then continue the drive. I ised to get so bored because in my mind the wildlife were just animals that i see grazinh and hunting near the fence at home so it was really puzzling why i we to drive all over the park for a whole day to watch the same. Only realised later that i was able to see all that because me and my friends used to play near the fence everyday during holidays and after school, thats why we always saw the wildlife and what they were upto. Adults do not have time to be there everyday for long periods of time so they won't see the game because they don't always hang around near the fence, so for dad it was an amazing time to experience all that together with his family. I also have fond memories of that time now that I understand what it meant to him to be able to give us that experience because not a lot of people are able to share moments like that with those that they love. Hope you take full advantage of your trips and don't let any moment pass by without your full appreciation of it. There aren't many beautiful places left in todays world, so when you have a chance to experience nature in it's most glorious and pure form, take loads of pictures and make memories.

So humbled by this, I had to watch it twice, having born and raised in Laikipia next to Laikipia ranch conservancy. Human and animal conflict was a routine, repeatedly we used to wake up in the middle of the night to chase elephants in our garden, sometimes early in the morning on our way to school would come across a lioness, the mischievous monkeys on our maize plantation, and a heard of buffalo and would hear those painful stories of a devoured sheep leftovers seen on the nearby thicket, of leopard creeping to my neighbor's flock of sheep in the middle of the night. On seeing the excitement and overwhelming joy in you all, I got to appreciate what I had considered as a bad omen and put all we went through as a hoax, well come back to Kenya once again.
