I actually had a more serious design in a similar vein to F1, but with the 80s LMP front-engine layout using an engine that abides by modern F1 regulation (except maybe for emission, which I have no clue how to tune out without sacrificing power, and horsepower output specifically from the engine, but the latter’s fair game since hybrid powertrains aren’t a thing in Automation), otherwise specifically designed to handle as good as possible without constant downforce. I got a 52 second time, which is a second slower than this design. Granted, I didn’t have constant downforce, nor did I actually cut the track, but I’d actually be interested in comparing this tune to my own.

You have to adjust the quality for the engine to work at those rpms

Idk. I’ve made a 1.6L Turbo V6 in Automation according to F1 regulation as well (down to the fuel allowed; I can’t do much about emissions though, and the power regulations weren’t fair considering there’s no hybrid powertrain), and when I imported the engine (plus car) into BeamNG, it sounds damn close to a real life F1 car. Minus the low idle RPM, but I can’t do much about that either without editing the files, which defeats the purpose of building it as good as possible from Automation imo. If it helps Grog’s case though, my car was a full second slower than his (even if he cut the grass and used constant downforce, neither of which I have).
