Those McLarens are crazy as hell. Tyler Hoover had one and the transmission gave him issues, but there are a couple of them with high mileage and never had issues

If the suspension is rock hard, look into replacing the suspension accumulators. The diaphragm inside the accumulators has a tendency to give out.

One other thing i noticed pretty quick is that those 3 horizontal pieces in the front smile those fall off really easy so it's best to put some sort of glue on the 2 short ones on each side because replacing those I'd guess isn't exactly free 😁

Have you ever noticed Tyler to have a good experience with any car? On the mp4 I don’t think he had a bad experience at all. He recounted the last owners experiences, not his. He sold it claiming it was too fast for him.

There is only one car I have ever own that made me want to buy another. That's ilthe 12c. Would love to see another video on it after you have enjoyed it if that is what you choose to do with it. Side not I bought a 2014 12c spyder a year ago. I have put 12k miles on it. Picked it up in PA, drove back to SoCal. Drove to COTA and around the track and back. Many spirited drives in the California Canyons. Accumulators once, new tires, fuild changes and one headlight due to the mclaren run light led not working. Last thing just drove 160 miles the other day and got 24.7 mph one way and 24.5 back.

We're a pain Also the front lift is tied in with the hydraulic steering and if there is a problem it will need replacing. The car was neat looking but just to weird for me. You also needed fairly wide parking spaces to get in and out. The performance was ecceptional.

Having owned 2 720s Mclaren’s I can say the repair hype is just that. Never had a single issue with either car. We attended Mclaren Fest in Houston last year. 50 cars and 3 days of driving and not a single tow truck or repair was needed. Enjoy the car while you have it, they are a blast to drive.

These are a LOT of car for the money. They do need a couple of brave pills though. You would have to spend at least twice that to get a Ferrari with similar performance. Here in the UK that would be priced very similar to the price you are selling it at (taking into account the exchange rate). £85-£90k. The 570 is also a great buy, slightly softer performance wise and not as high tech in the suspension dept but you can get a 2017 car for similar £90k ish.

@@normalguysupercar lots of shady exotics in Charlotte, the Foreign Cars Charlotte and Foreign Cars Itilia nearby are great people. They have sponsored the local Cars and Coffee for at least 8 or 9 years. I think I know this McLaren as well. If it's the one I think the owner's first name is Roger. He competes in One Lap of America in his Nissan GTR. He also has a Ultima GTR, and a spare Nissan GTR for driving his dogs in.

McLaren do seem to over-nanny the cars. I spent a day driving folks around the track in a 520? and several of them thought there was something wrong with the car... just a few degree of steering angle and it just wouldn't go when you put the throttle down. It was ridiculous, really. Once in track mode, it was fun, though!

I agree with others in that your complete honesty is appreciated. However, speaking for the sake of your business...I wouldn't purchase cars that you don't like. It is difficult to sell something you don't like. I predict that this car may sit around a good while because of the negativity in your review. Your 100% honesty is appreciated in regards to functionality and physical defects. But, the slams of the design has to impede purchases of vehicles that you personally dislike. Maybe not. We'll see. I appreciated the positive notes in your review, but you pretty much talked me out of a McLaren when the time comes. I am halfway through the video while commenting, so...

The McLaren’s unreliability issues have been massively over played. The very early VIN mp4 12 c’s had a few issues but they got sorted quickly. All super car manufacturers have issues at some point

Agreed but one thing, which perhaps doesn’t matter in this case, is that McLaren service prices are completely absurd. When annual services are double or triple what Ferrari charges, it’s a problem. I’ve had my 570s for almost 3 years now. No problems.

Not sure how the retrofit is done and if it was an option at the time of the car's sale.

Of course a British car on a British motor show. While I'm not the biggest 458 out there, I don't think there are many ways in which this was better. In some yes, but far from in every single way. The turbo lag and numb steering, not to mention the rough ride was just a no-go for me back then.

As a 12c owner and an owner of a Ferrari f430, I can tell you the f430 has made more trips to the shop than the Mclaren. While there are a lot of stories about the unreliability, most people are just parroting what they have heard and are not actual owners. I love the 12c spyder. It's fast and comfortable and still gets me 25mpg on the hwy and my car has been modified to 950hp. I've had the 12c for a year and put on 6K miles and only had a broken fuel door latch which was replaced for free-it took less than a minute and a pair of pliers. For every time I take the Ferrari out the 12c goes out 4x.

@@freddaniali read my comment. 25 down the hwy cruising. Worse I’ve seen overall per tank inc spirited mountain drives with a lot of hard acceleration including cruising to and from the mountains mostly hwy has been about 17 mpg
