We originally were doing to convert a fridge we had in the garage, but ended up getting this because it was cheaper than the conversion kit and was a lot smaller and more energy efficient than the old fridge.

Yup we actually use taaka to clean a bunch of stuff. It's the only thing it's good for.

How long does beer stay good in these

Depends on the beer style, basic lagers like BL, Coors, miller probably around 3-4 months, bigger beers like double IPAs, Stouts, Etc, will go a longer up to a year.

I actually sold both of ours, we couldn't finish a keg before it went bad and they are a hassle to clean.

We did Ponys and halfs. If it's your first keg maybe try and get a 1/6.
