what are the monthly costs of owning a house in Abbruzzo? heat/electric/water/property taxes/garbage pick up/fees/ is there internet in a small borgo?

I am Brazilian living in Arizona ,my great grandpa was from provincia Di Chieti. I’ll be visiting in May/2024. Congratulations for your house in that amazing region of Abruzzo!

What an amazing video. Congratulations on buying your second home in Italy.

great choice! One thing about moving to such a culinary heaven, you two are gonna be 30lbs heavier in 6 months just being surrounded by all these great eateries !! lol 😅 If you have 2 or 3 cars at any of the 7 houses, where do you park them ? when visitors come over do they need to walk 1 or 2km from the base of the village to reach your place? Your husband looks like Ryan Reynolds!

Hahaha the weight gain was crazy at first! We had to slow down on the carbs and gelato ☺️ and with regards to cars- piazzas have parking and the walks to the homes are quick and quaint:)

I totally loved #4 maybe I should buy it and be neighbors 😜, beautiful all of them

Awww congrats Joanna , Aaron so many beautiful building and views but the view of the town and the river or lake is just amazing it couldn’t have been easy narrowing it down to just that 1 but overall it certainly seem to tick more boxes, Ive always had a soft spot for Italy and Greece since I was about 7 reading about it’s ancient armies and mythology I was hooked then and that hasn’t changed in 50 + years haha I wish you and your family happiness and love like every home should feel within its walls , look forward to updates and style choices you’ll pick ( I was once a manager of a furniture store and and an interiors centre back in the day so il be keeping a eye out on how you move forward 👍) great vid and happy your turning a dream into reality 🥂

@@travelinginspanglish I’m in no doubt how you will style it , it will look fabulous ,and you certainly don’t need to spend a fortune to stamp your style on it , hopefully some of the building work you probably got in mind will run smoothly for you but the creation of your dream home should be savoured at every point from the very start to moving in such an exciting venture for you all 👍

House #4 is my favorite. We are thinking about house hunting just like you guys did, when I retire in 2024. Thanks for posting.

House 4 was lovely, but not for us. No central heat and we really didn’t love the bathroom. Now we are exactly next door and our home has been renovated . I’m thankful for our choice. The process is crazy, but so worthwhile! I wish you guys the best, and I hope you find a wonderful home!

@@travelinginspanglish Thank you. We live on the lake so we absolutely love that view but that town is very small with a few hundred ppl. Can you tell me if they have public transportation in order to get to larger towns or do you need to have a car?

Yea! I get that. The small medieval vibe is what we loved about Colledimezzo. But there are bigger cities. I would say you do absolutely need a car in Abruzzo in general. Yes.

Well we wont be a resident so we can't own a car or motor scooter ovr 49cc's. I know Sulmona has a train station and buses and I think Raiano does also. They go to Pescara which is a larger city that has the fast train that goes down the coast Rome etc. I do love some of the smaller town so I guess we will see what happens😊

Thank you for sharing that was nice and you picked a beautiful house, I do like the house next door, maybe I can be your neighbor one day :) I am looking to buy a house in Italy, but I feel like I have to go to the different regions to see what area I really like. Abruzzo is an amazing Italian region with high peaks,castles,medievil towns ,pretty beaches and great food.If you have a chance come and visit my hometown Isola del Gran Sasso on a sunny day and you will be surprised!

Thanks so much! The process is crazy- because it’s a whirlwind. The realtors in the area are very prepared and do this all the time, so it goes fast. In 4 months we were homeowners after we made our offer. Insane! Everything was managed for us, super super easy! Especially if you go with Abruzzo Rural Property. Love them!
