I think it's because Matt and Tommy are perceived as 'fans' rather than 'media.' These guys are getting the same dozen questions 10 times a day and everyone's trying to trick them into giving them that week's soundbite. P1 isn't out to do that, and I'm sure they can tell and get more comfortable.

Carlos is the only driver I’ve heard mentioning that fans pay hard earned money to come to the races. I appreciate that he realizes it and really puts an effort to offer them a good experience, great guy!

if you care to go back in time for a little bit, i would highly recommend watching the McLaren Unboxed youtube series with him and Lando, from 2019-2020. it showcases both their personalities so well, and is just so well made too. miles ahead of DTS

Carlos seriously needs to be given the credit he deserves for his achievements. Super Consistent and strong finishes, reliable, incredibly smart racing driver, strong awareness on track and intuitive strategist with the sometimes limited insights you get while in the cockpit driving the car. Just a great human and a great figure to have in the sport we love so much. Excited to watch him race for many years to come! Thanks P1 for this awesome interview! @@Me-0063because most Ferrari fans aren’t really Ferrari fans, they are Leclerc fans, since he won in Monza and got more points than Vettel, they have been overrating him and underrating every driver around Charles, making excuses when he losses to them and insulting them if they are driving better. It’s the main issue with the scuderia, someone as consistent as Carlos gets hate instead of being praised

Its impressive how carlos is no longer living under the shadow of his successful and famous father. Fans adore him as much as his father. Sainz jr is a big deal now.

That was a really good interview guys. Not only did you manage to get so much time with Carlos, you could tell he was actually engaged. The fact he came back to questions on his own says a lot.

Carlos is the best sample of coming from a rich family,well educated,handsome,smart,calm,well spoken and still very humble.I love him and hope him have chance to win a wdc in his career

I didn’t think it was possible to like Carlos anymore than I already have but I’ve been proven wrong. He’s a class act, and he is very well spoken, and the P1 boys did an amazing job interviewing and getting him relaxed, congrats gents

Just awesome. What an educated, natural and delightful man Carlos is. His range of vocabulary in a foreign language is extraordinary, as his ability to express himself in a thoughtful and menaingful way. An excellent interview with two smooth operators in their own right !

This is why I’m a Carlos fan, he’s so smart and considerate. He’s one of the only drivers I’ve seen that acknowledge that fans pay (sometimes) thousands of hard earned money to even just see him drive from the grandstand. Thanks for the great interview!!!

One of my favourite drivers on the grid, often sadly underrated by the pundits.

Also how cool he talks about giving a little extra for fans spending a good amount of their earnings to go see the race and want to see you. Everyone pays lip service and I’m sure in many cases It’s legit but you can definitely tell some people have become pretty detached from the fans, understandable given their wealth and world but seems like Carlos truly appreciates and hasn’t lost touch.

21:45 I mean... the lewis impression is dope, Verstappen is spot on, Daniel is incredible - but carlos stays the best. Its just incredible.

This was a treat for sure, and even more so cause Sainz obviously felt comfortable being there. Something which I know from my own experience from the music industry is more difficult to accomplish then people often think that it is.

He’s always been a natural fun guy, thanks for inviting him to the Chanel and very good questions from fans it’s refreshing to see them to answer others than the typical post race

What I love about Carlos, beside for being funny, is that he gives genuine answers. And you can see his intelligence as well. Matt and Tommy looked like they really enjoy interviewing him too. Nah, this isn't broken English it's just depends on who and where he learned from You see it a lot in people that learn English from TV, it's hilarious hearing non-Irish/American/British people with the accents from one of the above 😂

@@robertharrington703 There are some instances where he speaks puts certain words in front of the other, when it doesn't need to be or simply rearranges the order of the words. Because, although he knows the English translation of the words he's saying, he forms the sentence in the way he would when he's speaking his own language. That is broken English. English words, but not adhering to the rules of the word ordering for the English language.. It's a very mild form of broken English, but broken nonetheless.

The way you outlined it is but my logic is he does it consistently, so it's something I just classed as the way he talks. Like people who say who instead of whom, it's technically wrong it's just what they learned growing up (I'm not a linguistics expert this is just my thoughts 😂)

I really like Carlos, and this interview reminds me why i think he is down to earth great person to hang around with.

When Carlos was already on F1, he drove a Golf GTI for some time, while others where in Ferraris and Mclarens etc.. Humble guy.

Carlos should seriously consider when he retires working as a directive in F1. Everytime I hear him speak about the sport he's always spot on. He’s very intelligent and analytical. This guy could manage a team into success. He's also very fun and chill. No wonder Audi wants him. Great job guys!

DTS was at its best in their first and second season.

I wasnt exactly the biggest Sainz fan, but holy crap the insight he gives? The explanations of tyre wear on rain, and the sprint is like a simulation of the sunday’s race start was just 10/10. Fantastic questions, and now Sainz is one of my favorite drivers!

Imaging being a Rally legend and your kid is a f1 fan and then he tells you "i wanna be like Fernando Alonso", Alonso really marked a generation

Carlos started karting at age 10? That's awfully late, and to still make it to F1 is impressive

this was absolutely incredible, my favourite carlos interview hands down. it's such a treat to be able to see how carlos thinks, how he reflects on his time as a driver and seeing him reflect on how he's gotten to where he is now. truly the smoothest operator out there 🌶

Carlos sprint race idea is absolutely the best one out there.

This was so lovely, Carlos is really fascinating to listen to, he mixes seriousness and goofiness so perfectly haha. So thoughtful about everything and everyone. Love him. Really liked his thoughts on sprint weekends and reverse grid, surely f1 can work something out and try to do reverse grid at least once to see what actually happens? I get that potential crushes and cost cap are things to worry about but I think it could be worth it. Thanks, boys, you did really well! Now release the whole hour haha

The brand Max Verstappen is difficult to get. In the beginning (2017/2018) you had to pay x thousands of euros for an interview (had an friend working as journalist who gave me this information).

@@alimantado373 yes, but those interviews are done with one of his sponsors or official F1 journalism. As an outside journalism you have to pay for his time.

Carlos is like old money look good. He’s timeless and so effortlessly good looking it’s not even funny

he speaks so beautifully like he can express his thoughts so good even though english is not his primary language. I also learned a lot from him. such a great guy!

I always think Carlos lacks the "Killer Instinct" as a driver, but at the 2023 Monza weekend he proved that he's more than got it. I just wish he'd always drive that way! Great interview! Carlos definitely one of my favorite drivers.

These interviews are amazing. It is super cool to see the drivers with their guards down and be more human.

How can you not love this guy? How amazing must it be to have these guys lives? Driving around the most high tech cars in the world in the most exotic locations and getting paid millions. I’m so jealous.
