Being from Mass it was pretty crazy hearing 38 Studios, knowing that was started by Curt Schillings and hearing about it in the news years ago. Glad Mike moved on to bigger and better things after it closed and like everyone else, I'm pumped to see the cinematics when they're out. Go Celtics!

Blizzard has always had awesome cut scenes. Some of my favorite were in StarCraft. When I do creative things, I usually start with an initial vision, but I do not let my vision get in the way of the project. Many times, when I get into a project, it takes a life of its own. I find it good to get out of the way and let the project tell you where to take things. Charles Dickens seemed to take a similar approach, as do many writers, as the characters and worlds they create dictate how the story ends. When the writer's vision contradicts the world and people they create, then you get something like Game of Thrones ending and the writer that is never going to finish the book series. He will die before he can finish it, as there is no way he can square his Kumbayah ending with the harsh world he created. I think the same thing happened to Tolkien. He was a notorious procrastinator, but he should have been able to complete the Silmarillion. He muse have gotten in the way of the world he created. I saw what I considered some inconsistencies in the Silmarillion. For instance, the fall of Gondolin. Glorfindel was with the group of elves that fled the battle. The group ran into a balrog and Glorfindel killed it, but was mortally wounded. He was then resurrected, like Gandalf, and brought back. However, Echthelion of the Fountain fought and defeated the leader of the Balrogs. He also was mortally wounded, but he was not fleeing the battle. He stood his ground and saved countless lives. However, he was not brought back. His death was arguably more epic and more important to the survival of people. Why was he not more recognized? I digress, but my point is that creative people sometimes get in the way of completing the story. ;-)

Great podcast! Talking about cinematic timelines brings up a question for me… Have y’all started making plans and moves for ongoing seasonal content after launch? And you know I don’t mean “finishing the game” like we see so often these days 😂. I know you’ve thought about this undertaking, looking forward to hearing the podcasts on it!

No Robin Hood please, if you have to include him then he’s only a Rare in status! What faction would Robin Hood even fit into… the Odd One Out faction? He’s not Avalon just because he’s a British character.

Nothing personal, but hard disagree. Robin Hood is amazing, and I hope to see him! As far as faction, I agree he may not be a 100% fit for core Avalon, but if they are going to explore wide swaths of mythology, they are going to have to take a wide view of what "fits" a given faction.
