WE ARE VENICE
This show is going to inspire you to manifest the life you want with a positive attitude, with good intention you can make your dreams become true , the universe is conspiring for us to succeed , the most important in life is how profound is your journey.
The Concept
There are plenty of places on the planet that project culture and influence… Without Venice there would be no Jim Morrison and the Doors, no Muscle Beach and Arnold Schwarzenegger, no Dogtown, Z-Boys, Jay Adams, Powel Peralta , Bones Brigade, Tony Hawk, or X Games.
Today, Venice is still a tidal wave of creative output. Our new generation of artists, athletes, innovators, and outlaws embody the Venice ethos of do, dare, and don’t mind what anyone else has to say about it. From old school legends to the latest up-and-comers, we are making our mark as world-class skateboarders, surfers, painters, musicians, hip-hop artists, chefs, entrepreneurs, martial arts masters, automotive innovators, dancers and more.
These are our stories.
WE ARE VENICE is a KZread channel and media enterprise based on the people and culture who make Venice, Venice. It was created by We Are Venice productions @weareveniceprod .and has Undivided Attention @undividedattention as a collaborator. As locals with deep ties in this tight-knit community, we have access to the stories no one else can get. And the potential audience for these stories includes millions worldwide. Venice is the hottest tourist spot in LA. With 16 million people a year, it’s second only to Disneyland as the most-visited in all of Southern California.
The Videos
We Are Venice’s core content is a series of premium documentary profile pieces on Venice’s most important and influential individuals. Our first yearlong “season” consists of 26 of these videos set to be released bi-weekly on our KZread channel.

In 2010, when I was 12 years old, checking out a maxing day at Waimea Bay with my dad, Jay came up and asked if I wanted a photo with him. I didn't know who he was and thought it was a bit strange, just assuming he was some tough surf guy with a gnarly look about him. Years later, after watching the Dogtown movies, I realised I had met the legend. Now, after surfing/skateboarding for twenty years, that photo means a lot more. RIP, Jay.

Been skating since the 70’s when Dogtown was ruling Skateboarder magazine, Jay and T.A. were the guys that embodied a culture that never dies, glad to see the next generation carry on with that mindset, Dogtown forever 🙏

I was part of the Dogtown crew durring the era. Wasnt good enough to be s Zboy but i surfed skated partied and went to school with most of them. For the record, Jay was the best freestyle skater better than TA. And both he and Alva were incredible surfers. It was great time. Cheers to the Zboyz.

Back in the 70's Jay and that killer Crew used to get me so amped and just from reading skate mags .. we had no utube world wide web but we had Makaha's and Logan boards We had a empty pool in the neighborhood and can still hear that sound of wheels on concrete. Jay was a special Dude no doubt. Skate don't hate.

forget this celebrity culture territorial garbage. I live in Venice. You can have dogtown, they are just another form of salespeople, they now hawk real estate too. Stacey P makes propaganda films. All selling & acting like they are regular folks. They never were. Gazillions of kids skate & many of them were inspired by Stacey,Jay & Tony. They are heavily promoted & connected. You can have all the gang bangers too. I don’t need a gang. True Apex beings make the world a better place for them having been through it. They don’t take & suck from the world all the livelong day.

Jay Adams was a violent bigot and drug addict. Not sure why he gets so much praise just because he shredded, while he completely let himself go and watched his life unravel. Dude had so many second chances and just kept blowing it.

A: Bullshit. Jay Adams wasn't a bigot. B: His life was doing the exact opposite of unraveling. C: What a sh!tty thing to say. Who the F- are you to judge him? As far as I can see - the answer is: 'NOBODY'. Jay Adams was a great guy. You're 'full of it' - and yourself, it sounds like.
