"On January 25, 2022, Carly Smithson revealed on an Instagram comment that Shiprocked 2022 changed their COVID-19 policy to require performers be fully vaccinated, including the additional administering of the booster dosage. She wrote; "There wasn’t enough time for everyone [in the band] to get boosted so a lot of bands couldn’t participate." In addition, she noted that We Are The Fallen would play in 2023 along with land shows prior." via the wikipedia where we are the fallen is listed. So maybe they eventually will. As for Carly Smithson, looking her up, there wasn't anything recent that was super concerning, I thought, but I am not completely awake. xD;; It did say she had a daughter, too, on top with working with Cirque Du Soleil I think? For the Band's wikipedia, it did say Ben Moody posted a video in regards to the future of the band on his YT page, so check there, worst case, I guess. I'd hope they make more stuff. I've been wondering about them too.

According to a recent interview, Ben says they are currently getting things ready for a new album. I guess the songwriting part is done and he's got the basics of the rest done.

I feel that this song accurately depicts depression. The girl is trapped on the inside looking out, powerless to reach out to anyone and feels as though no one can hear her. In the end she is being buried alive by her depression (Herself in black) and in the end, she climbs out of her grave to drag it down with her. By confronting it instead of silently screaming, she awakens in her grave, finally free.

I feel that it is her darkness or rather the evil in her. Although depression is apart of the darkness. That is why in ancient belief structures and a lot of modern day remakes. The initiate is taught balance. As 8n balancing the light and dark in oneself.

I love We Are The Fallen, The energy, feeling, passion, is amazing. Carly has a powerful, melodious voice and commanding stage presence.

These guys along with Carly's voice are just simply great. I love the music. I wouldn't change anything for this new Ben's project. I am your fan forever.

I've watched this music video and saw myself, and then I realized... I also saw others who suffered like this. Watching themselves grieve themselves, and mourn how they were before the grief and trauma. Music saves lives. We are all in this together.

Bruno Fernandes I agree as well but unfortunately they won't do it because it's basically evanescence without amy lee. They left the other and tried reforming it with another girl. And people didn't like it and was like oh yeah no evanescence is better. Yall just got fired and Yada Yada yada. OK the point of my rant is . They got so much hate and no one would take them serious because everything I said.

To help clear some controversy on this issue, both albums were written by the same person (Ben Moody). So wouldn't you think it's okay to have the same style of music? So to say that "We are the Fallen" is a rip off of "Evanescence" is like saying Ben Moody is a rip off of himself, it's just silly. Notice how Evanescence changed after "Fallen" and into "The Open Door", "We are the Fallen" has the same style of music from "Fallen" because it was the direction that Ben wanted Evanescence to be heading in before he left in October of 2003. Ben just didn't want to deal with the turmoil that was going on between him and Amy, so he left doing what he loved most. And yet you guys bash him for something he created, he left to keep Evanescence alive instead of having it fall apart. Both are great bands in my opinion, what happened between Amy and Ben is beyond me but if one thing is clear on this issue it's that they all had a different vision of what they wanted Evanescence to become(which is what leads to conflict).

Great band. Great song. Sad that we can't hear more from them.

The way her elegant voice fuses with the drum beats and guitar tunes is just epic. Such a great song indeed🔥🔥. Plus, I really like the enthusiasm of bands instrument players, very energetic and lively. You can tell they're enjoying the song to the core.

@@tiamod i heard the band was playing a festival in January 2022, but Ben Moody tested positive for Covid-19, Rocky Gray couldn't make it for medical reasons, and that Carly sang some song with We Are The Fallen bassist. i don't know what happened to John LeCompt, but probably the band canceled the participation in the festival

I really hope the band comes back somehow. I understand that, for health reasons, they might not be able to go on tour, but I still wish to see more from them, at least digitally. I fell in love with their first album from the word go. It's simply amazing, from Carly's powerful and mature singing style, to the epic orchestration, choruses and talent of all the band members. The only complaint I have about it is that Carly's high notes feel a little bit over-produced (not natural), which I think was unnecessary because Carly is a great singer, but anyway, just a minor detail and it's just my opinion.

Wow. I just shed a tear because I can't believe I just now heard about this band, AND the fact that Ben, John and Rocky are in it! I always liked Rocky Gray as a drummer, and I just love the sound and the mood that John and Ben put forth. I have been wondering where they ended up. Where the hell has my life been the last...12 years? 😔

Evanescence lost a lot when they were fired. I miss the 2003 Evanescence. I like Rocky a lot more than current Evanescence drummer, the current guy overplays, he's hitting stuff all the time like crazy. A good drummer knows how to play for the song, what to play and what to NOT play. The current drummer plays like he wants to hit everything all the time and it's distracting.

Creo que Ben con este proyecto quiso sacarse la espina de hacer algo sin Evanescence o mejor dicho sin Amy Lee ya que después esta banda no sacó más discos. Aquí pasa algo similar a Nightwish, ambos (Ben y Amy) eran complementos para el estilo que tenía Evanescence en Origin y Fallen, Amy ha tenido toda la libertad creativa en Evanescence pero no la ha aprovechado, sacan discos cada 7 años prácticamente, The open door y Evanescence son buenos porque aún estaba Terry Balsamo, pero el último single Wasted on you es como escuchar a Amy como solista, no me suena a Evanescence.

Let's not be brats about it with all the comparisons. Just because two bands play the same genre does not make the ones who come after "wannabes". Ben Moody has been the mastermind behind both bands, and WATF's members are almost all former Evanescence. The latter could never be the same or as good after Moody's departure, to me at least. I bet most WATF haters simply came here with the mentality of "Evanescence is the one and only" and not to actually give this any chance at all.

not saying they arent as good, I just find it funny that when Moody left Evanescence, he formed his own band and completely copied the entire look of his former band, he recruited former members, and then one step further, he gets a singer that copies Amy's appearance nearly 100%. Black hair, heavy makeup, the clothing, and even her similar vocal style, and that is where we all find the "copycat" issue comes from.

Most people really feel like this, where they struggle on the inside and no matter what you do there’s no saving you think it’s too late.

This song is actually pretty good omg.

Why is everyone saying: "She's no Amy lee" and "rip off of her and evanecsence"? She never said she was trying to be her and if you think Evanecsense is better than this then that's fine, but be here for the song to listen and enjoy it, not criticise it. :)

She is ripping Amy Lee off, if not she would try to define herself in a manner that wasn't exactly replicating Amy, I mean its as simple as hair, and wardrobe,

She is definitely an amazing singer and there are a few similarities in her voice with Amy`s voice but there are also very obvious,at least to me,differences.The violins also add a different note to the song comparing to Evanescence songs and gives a more dramatic effect to the whole song.Love it!

@@marvelstan_0114 Having seen both of them live in person, Carley is the stronger and more powerful vocalist not to mention having a better stage presence and Amy has a better range and softer vocals. As a big fan of Evanescence it's not hard to see other singers have different qualities, it doesn't make one a better artist then the other just different.

This entire album is fantastic and Carly’s voice is more powerful and has more range than the one she’s compared to. They opened for H.I.M in 2012 and were outstanding! Wish they’d put out more music

Every component of this band synergizes masterfully. Rhythm Guitar. Bass. Drums. Lead Guitar. Vocals. Background programming. Videography panning and spin, fading. Screenwriting for the music video. Light engineering. Makeup was a bit dark but done well. There is QUITE LITERALLY a light at the end of the tunnel (hallway) as there is light at the end of the song. She Grave Pacts the dark part of herself and it ends with her eyes opening anew. composition is 10/10. Music video is 10/10. Have SO much respect for this band. Benjamin. John. William. Carly. To make an Andy Griffith Show reference the tears upon this album's lyrical pillow bespeak the joy within the accompanying intrument's heart. I will stay is a massively romantic and light and beautiful song. This album could be end credits for so many things. ...and in a sense it almost was. The music industry would change drastically the next two years after this was released.

+Nichola Scott you all nailed it perfectly, they're are some gothic influences from other bands but heck, I couldn't name a genre of music in which bands don't influence each other. But it's good to see some people who understand and don't try to compare every little inch of gothic bands with Evanescence

Angela 300 something albums? U have your numbers way off. In 2010 alone it sold over 41,000 copies. Sure its nothing compared to Evanescence Fallen album but thats still pretty good. Evanescence never managed to top Fallen either. That album cant be topped. We Are The Fallen with only 1 album i like more than any Evanescence album after Fallen. The 2 albums dont sound anything alike and both singers dont even sound alike.

He's discounting the fact that Amy Lee had a hand in the writing process too! It wasn't all him, but that's what he'd like to think. Look how successful Evanescence has been, and all of his projects have been failures!

@@DaarkDestiny he never said that he was the sole writer for the band, and he actually gave amy lee his half of the trademark that means amy lee controls the whole thing also the band is made up of three of the original members. It's entirely possible that the reason this seems so similar to classic Evanescence is that it's made by the very people who created classic Evanescence. And since modern Evanescence sounds absolutely nothing like Classic, I for one effing love this.

If a bands album sounded exactly the same as its predecessor, then how do they grow? How would they keep you coming back? Evanescence evolved but still stayed true to their core sound. Each album makes nods to its prior but they also are unique on their own. The Bitter Truth has come full circle with chord progressions and motives similar to prior songs. 🎶

@@mtlntb2783 Good for them. Why does that preclude the originators of the sound going back to their base, and building in their own direction from there? It really wasn't long after the breakup that the Band's sound began to change. Maybe it was evolution. But now i'm thinking they just didn't have the necessary ingredients anymore for that original sound. What would the "evolution" have looked like if the breakup hadn't happened? This band was a chance to find out. Though as far as I can tell they've already fizzled out. Probably due in part to Amy's more frenzied fans piling on them for no good reason. A shame. Now we don't get to see what this evolution would have looked like.

WATF is supposed to be performing at shiprocked early next year. They were supposed to perform in January of this year but had to cancel because there wasn't enough time for all the band members to get vaccinated and boosted for covid.

I watched Carly Smithson on American Idol and have loved her since then!

Cool Nice analogy of destroying yourself... However I got teared up and felt the sting of this song... My late husband struggled with addiction, took his own life, and left me and his young kids with too many unanswered questions... The relationship was so very hard, but his passing was more than I could bear... I still struggle with the depression... and the stress of the trauma it instilled in me and his children So yes, I can very much resonate with this song :(
